I was just saying when mine got hot the coolant came out of the cap and caused it to lose coolant i thought that what you said my bad!you have some kind of backup it sounds like to me??

The radiator system runs on pressure if you are loosing it at the cap you need a new cap,same thing happened to me got a new cap and it was cool yes I have a 87 too. that will cause it to seem like its overheating

this is an oldy but a goody pull off your carbs and check to see if the bowels have been switched the left one as sitting on the bike(or choke side) should have a jet in the bottom the other just has a hole . had that problem when I bought mine and that is why I got a good deal he sadi it didn't run right it does now!! I would take it to him then I would not ride it you will mess it up more.Clutches are easy though

why would you have a toomey needle in a stock banshee do you have toomey pipes. if you don't thats your problem and your slides are probably sticking because of it.

I would say you have gears. possible shiftforks all messed up in the bottom end, tearing up your waterpump and stuff, it will get to all the vitals in your bottom end clutch, whatever..(I would not recommend running it anymore) that stuff will float around in the oil as your motor is running and screw it all up. you are going to have to take it apart to determine the damage.Buy a clymers manuel and do it yourself if you can.The stealership will gouge you big time for labor. sorry I can't determine unless its opened up to see!!

I got one too and as far as I am concerned the turning is a little different but I can live with that for the perfomance without too many mods they just seem faster. The 87's were geared different.

first you have to take the carbs off,needles back to third slot down and see what kind of jets you are running what kind of pipes do you have, how many slots are in your needles,there are alot of factors when jetting your bike for the first time after a rebuild. but those needles should not be that far up I will tell you that.Does it still have tors units or side idle screws?

ok I know where your at.I thought they had pretty good fish on fridays.I was riding the Nipsco dunes in Michigan shitty across from the prison till D&R showed up and took my plate number, no ticket just told me don't come back.Then I tried the industrial park on 249 & 94 behind the family express and the Portage cops showed up I knew them and they told me it wasn't a very good idea I had my kids so they were cool about it. A buddy told me of a place Lake Station but couldn't find it. But I don't want to go there with my shee or blaster too darn load they would know I was there for sure, guess Ill post see if anyone else in the area wants to go. Late notice but sometimes that is the way it is with me.Have a good time and maybe we can hookup another time to ride ( tear up) the dirt. Tim
