Okay I never noticed this before, but when you remove the needle and retainer there is a hole in the slide below. When you put the retainer back over the needle should this expose the hole or cover it up? Seems like open it would suck vacuum on the throttle cable. Keep it exposed, if it was covered then the slide would want to stick open due to suction of air and vise versa...you want the air to be able to flow back and forth as you open and close the throttle...think of it as closing the door of your car..the door always closes easier w/ the window open.. Try This

I already bought the La sleeves new on fleabay 75.00 shipped figured I could find someone with a press and get them to do it cheaply. didn't think about the ports and all that.Its an 87,I just want it back to stock so it would last me awhile longer.Anyone got any ideas besides cylinders, I don't trust to get it apart and getting bad cylinders and be f---ked.Hell I am single Dad with 2 kids I have been making it by selling and buying Parts for mine and my kids bikes trying to make them look cool and perform better.

Somewhere you got an airleak when you worked on them carbs or in the reed cages. I wouild say check your reed cages.

What kind of water do you have there? I have had the same filter in there for 4 years and it still works and doesn't leak I have a monster Maytag the biggest they made and I bought it at the old Montgomery Wards before they closed so you can tell how old it is. Hell I don't remember ever changing the filter. I did buy a trickle charger at Sears for my other quad and it wouldn't work so I took it apart and low and behold there was nothing in it the wires were still uncut and they wouldn't give me a refund so I bausted it on thier front door on the way out and will never shop there again! just a note of Sears high quality customer care!!
