  1. Well.. i leaned out the needle (2nd from the blunt end) and it seemed to have a little better throttle response but is still blowin smoke like a son-of-a-bitch. I am just going to do a couple WOT runs and see how it works.... headin out to the desert on Friday to get this all worked out.
  2. Yes the airbox lid is off.. what direction is lean for the needles?
  3. Ok.. needs some thoughts one this one. I just put on my FMF SST's and need some assistance with jetting. Currently I have 310 Mains, Stock Pilot, Stock Needle & Clip Position. Fires right up and idles fine, but is smoking more than it did before. Now after it warms up, If I pin the throttle with it sitting there (not riding) it revs up maybe 3/4 of the way and just bogs.. with smoke pouring out everywhere!!! Yikes! Think I am a little rich? What should I try first? Dropping a size on the mains, or adjusting the needle position? I am at sea lvl, 75 degrees. Side note... whats the best way to change the jets? Currently (no tors) i just loosen the intake boots and swivel the carbs while their still on the bike, is this how you all do it? or is it better to take the carbs off the bike completly to jet?
  4. Perfrect Thanks.
  5. So you didnt use that big metal piece that i got on mine? Dont really know what its for? THe piece that looks like a "T" but its round.
  6. Does this look right?
  7. In the process of installing new pipes + silencers on the shee.. got the pipes mounted fine, however I noticed that the new silencer came with some rubber bushings and also 2 long metal discs... are these needed to install the silencer? the stockers didnt have all this. And i looked at the instrustions and it doesnt say crap about those parts.
  8. May be a stupid question, but hey.. why not ask it. I am going to slap on my new SST's & Silencers today, and need to know if I need to use a couple to join the pipe and silencer. If so do I just use the stock coupler?
  9. Will mods like +4 Timing & Lightened Flywheel do any good with the SST Pipes? Or when you say stock motor mods do you mean like just port work?
  10. Thanks for all the input! I actually went with the SST's, If i decide to do some engine mods then I will gets some T-5's then. Thanks again for all the great responses.
  11. Well.. I really dont plan on any port work.. should I still go for the T-5's?
  12. K&N, No Lid, FMF SST's, FMF TC2's. I was thinkin 300 mains, stock pilot, 2 turns out on the airscrew and 1 notch down on the needle
  13. I just ordered some new pipes and am going to be jetting for the first time ever. The main issue is that there is no place to ride anywhere nearby so a plug chop will be difficult. Would it work at all to put a large fan in front, raise the rear tires off the ground and run it through all the greats at WOT? Or would it not give me an accurate reading?
  14. Are the Airbox vents that the kit comes with worth a damn? Or should I just take the lid off? And if I take the lid off instead of using their vents will their "perfect jet" kit still work out?
  15. I know this has been asked 100 times already, and I have searched and read alot of reviews on both, but I just need a little more assistance. A few questions. I want some new pipes, I mainly ride open dirt roads with some trail riding and I am planning on duning alot more. Between FMF Fatties, FMF SST's and Toomey T-5's what would be the best all around pipe for this. Price really doesnt matter, I am more concerned about functionality. Also, If FMF is the way to go which of their silencers is the best? Same with Toomey.
  16. Looking to replace the stock headlights, I want to keep the stock stator. Couple of questions... first.. what is the best position for them, on the bars or in the stock location? Also are the trailtech's billet lights any good?
  17. I think i got it.. nevermind
  18. 1st time taking the carbs apart.. right now I only have the left carb off the bike... now my question is in regards to the slide.... one side is flat and the other side of the slide is kinda a U-shaped... is this where the idle screw goes in? If so.. it seems the guys in tokyo assembed it wrong because the u-shaped side is facing the right of the carb.
  19. Try and find and old school Mutiny Board... those where the shit. Good friend of mine started the company before they shutdown back in '99.
  20. Well.. here is what I just bought... do these sizes make any sense for the stock shee.. i also ordered a 13tooth sprocket just in case.. but are these ok tires and sizes?? Sand Star 22x8x10 .160 --front Sand Star 20x11x10 .160 --rear
  21. If the 3rd doesnt work we are also putting together a group for the 6/18 at pad 3 with a bunch from glamisdunes.com
  22. No takers? THis will be my first time to the dunes, and the 2 others that are going have been there a few times. Looking for a couple more to make an enjoyable trip.
  23. I will be heading out to Glamis next week for a night ride and currently don't have any paddles. The Bike is completly stock except for a K&N Filter. Will I be able to pull a paddle? I wasn't going to pipe the shee until next season, but if I have to I will. Also, are sand star's any good? Any sizing recommendations on the paddles for a stock shee?
  24. Getting a group together for a Glamis Night ride on Friday June 3rd. Right now the plan is to leave Friday after work.. putting us there around 6pm, and then leave Saturday morning before it gets too hot. Any takers?
  25. Took them out on a trial run today.... let me tell ya i thought the stockers were bad.. but not that bad... my god the holeshots are AWESOME! Even just the plain ones I got hooked up really good. Makes it seem like i never had tires on it before.
