  1. Sounds like a bent steering stem tower. Take all your plastics off, remove the gas tank and take some pics of your frame, we can help you out. That's why I do this to every frame I have / had.
  2. Not really familiar with the TRex stuff but I think ^ is probably pretty close. That TRex have any porting done? I do know you have to port the hell out of them to really wake them up. Talk to K&T about porting that TRex. They are the primary seller and porter for the Trex. They can make those cylinders scream.
  3. Ask RIPPEN about nerf bars and the huge bill he had to pay for a broken leg. He always runs them now!
  4. There's a guy who rides at walden with a set of dune trash stock cylinders, stock stroke on alky and he will get me by a lot when we race. That thing stomps me bad. Whoever buys these won't be disappointed
  5. Call K&T Fastest bikes on the mountain are from K&T.
  6. Dune Trash stuff runs hard! I've raced a few of them and got beat by a couple dune trash bikes.
  7. What makes you think I would sell them? I have a pretty good collection of spare parts chilling the shed that I don't use but keep around for those "just in case" situations. I don't think I would sell the ones I have now.
  8. I'm also going bigger this winter. Stuck between a 7 or a 10mil. Dunno. Probably 7.
  9. No worries, I wouldn't charge much for it anyway, just materials. I work in a machine shop now and do crap like that all damn day. Shipping is a pain when it comes to stuff that size. Finding the time to do it would be the hard part. I work 10hr days and when I'm not working I'm working on the banshee or out riding. Not to mention taking care of the house. I need 36hr days to function like I need. I'm still open the idea chase, if you can't find something that will work for you let me know and i can do it. I've done two of them before, a 6" and a 10" extension for guys around here. The 10" seemed pretty long to me, but I probably don't do the same sorta stuff he had planned.
  10. Nice of you to stop by on the way through. Dumbass.
  11. Yeah I could do it for you if you really want. The shipping cost from you to me and me back to you would be more than what the job is worth though. Cut there. On the lower part you want to cut before the frame ramps up for the front suspension so you don't screw up the geometry. The front end has like a 2
  12. Rock Springs, WY. Killpecker Sand Dunes. I only live like 30 something miles from the dunes. I'm out there about 4 times a week, then all weekend every weekend. There, Walden, or my ranch. One of the three. The picture in my signature is at "The Pond" at killpecker. The pond isn't around any more, you can't find water at KP this time of year. It only shows up when it rains really hard. Come on out! Its the least ridden 10,000+ acre sand dunes in america. Big holliday weekends you might get like 50 people out there. Normal weekends there are about 5-10 little groups of people. I've been out there when I was the only person in the entire place. No one else. Kinda spooky when you are 6 or 7 miles back in there and thinking about what would happen if you ran out of gas or broke down. LOL
  13. Yeah, going alky, more for testing purposes than anything else. I play around with a lot of different fuels from time to time and kinda need something to base results on. We have a fuel that we make ourselves that is a hodge-podge of a couple different chemicals and other fuels and it gives way more power over stock. Haven't seen any long-term effects yet though so not sure if I will stick with it. Want to try alky and see if it gives the same, more or less than what we came up with. Besides, there are 500gal tanks of methanol in about 6 different spots around our dunes that I can fill up on, just have to carry oil with me. Next month some time or maybe september I will do the switch.
  14. Just weld new mounts on or cut new threads and use a bigger bolt. Welding them on is retarded. It will make things far more difficult than they need be when working on your engine. If you do go the stupid route, make sure they are down low. Don't you think if yamaha wanted them to be non-removable they would have done that themselves? They come off for a reason...
  15. If you are stretching forward just cut it right in front of your steering stem tower and straight down from that on the lower frame rails, then weld in some tubing. You will have to make a custom mount for your steering stem bearing but that's pretty much it. I've done two for some guys here in town. I also put a gusset in on the tubing I put in there to keep it rigid.
  16. I secretly email rippen things to say on the board.
  17. They are harder to start because you have to purge them with race gas when you are done riding for a while, it makes them difficult to start. Higher compression is needed from my understanding, to really take advantage of it. Timing I'm not sure on, I think you pretty much leave it where its at, but not sure. I never heard the new fuel tank thing. Just clean the one you have. You might need a bigger tank, since you will use a lot more alcohol to go the same distance you would on gas. I will be going to a 5gal tank or soemthing there abouts when I switch. But I also have filling stations scattered throughout the dunes I ride on. Ha Ha! You will need a pingel and dual fuel lines to make sure you don't suck your bowls dry. I am going to put a fuel pump on mine as well, one that runs off the intake pulses. You will need to run a premix oil that works with the alcohol. I believe castor 927 works with it, but I'd have to do some research and be sure.
  18. Ask your local stealership. I live in a town with a lot of natural gas and oil drilling in the area and its easy to order race gas. I get 55gal drums of 115 ocatane for $270 if I bring the drum back and $300 if I need a new drum ordered. I get it at a local fuel depot called Homax Oil. They sell a lot of methanol, antifreeze, oil, normal gas, diesel, etc. I can get methanol for free, so I'm going to convert over some time next month.
  19. I actually have to ditch the engine ice in winter time because I can't get the damn thing above 100
  20. I like this guy.
  21. Guess you just aren't cool enough for planetsand.com LOL Don't know what to tell you, sometimes it can take a day or two to get that email you are talking about.
  22. That little lever on the left-hand side of your bars... you should learn how to use it. Its like power on demand.
  23. Holy shit dude, just let it go. If you haven't figured out yet, your entire life is a damn scam, if your not smart enough to avoid them and learn from them that's your problem, not mine. I'm not here to babysit the for sale forum and make sure that every little new guy is getting what he thinks he is. I don't appreciate you calling everyone an asshole for it either.
  24. My riding buddy has a TRex with power valves and I have a cub. The powervalve engine makes good bottom end and is more of a smooth hit, it will grab you by the collar and pull you around. The cubs like to reach out and punch you right in the face. I would not use the cubs on trails.
  25. Yeah, I think yours was ONE of the threads about porting over there. There are about 5 different ones where they go into massive detail about angles, numbers, degrees, window size, etc. You just have to search around for them. PS is the place to be for the real technical conversations. Those guys will definitely make you feel pretty dumb.
