    FMF Sparky's

I have just what you need. A company called Cobra makes what they call Sparkys. They are a universal spark arrestor that fits over the end of you silencer. I went to a round silencer so had to buy a new set for the rounds. I am not positive they will fit yours as mine were from 99. Are your silencers oval like the power core's? These run $70 a piece plus tax, you can have them for $80 shipped to your door. Let me know if you are interested and I can get you pix.
  3. Where are you located? It is probably going to have to be someone local as a month is not much time to send it out and get it back on time.
  4. I have the pancake bearing, I am just not sure what you are asking. It doesn't help that I can't remember exactly how it is set up. I have to replace some shifting components anyway, if you haven't gotten her figured out by then I will chime back in and post some pics.
  5. Now that I think about it, it may have a phillips slot cut in it. Either way, the adjuster screw on mine has one of these two methods to hold it while you tighten the lock nut. I take it yours has neither?
  6. I love my R. Sounds a little on the pricey side though. Wouldn't hurt to look, could be something w/nothing for hours on it.
  7. The v paddle is easier to turn w/but won't bite quite as well as the straights. But as stated, if on a budget, any paddle tire is a world of difference from nobbies.
  8. Hmmm.... If I remember correctly the end of the adjuster screw on mine had an allen slot.
  9. I have never heard of spin balancing, maybe he is refering to checking to see if it is true. If it is not true you will get very unwanted vibration leading to more problems later.

  11. Just about anywhere. How about www.rockymountainatv.com
  12. The worst thing you can do is just wait till you blow it. You run a big risk of crapping out your crank, bearings, whatever gear it was in when it locked up.....you get the picture. Get a compression tester, keep an eye on your jetting, a clymers will give you all the specifics as far as ring end gap, and when to inspect top end according to compression and such. A lot of time you can get away with a hone and a new set of rings if you just rebuild it when it is supposed to be, at very least, save on a new crank.
  13. Is your emergency brake on? Do you still have TORS system on your bike? This will cause exactly what you are describing.
  14. You would still see spark w/tors problems. Remember w/TORS activated, the quad will run most of the time, it just won't rev. I would be concentrating on the compression issue. You have visible spark, and your plugs are probably getting wet, so you have fuel. Aslo, in my experience, you may find one good compression tester out of 10 cheap ones if you're lucky. Borrow one from someone who has one you know works if possible. And .030 is cutting it pretty close for squish.
  15. 155-162 sounds like a decent start on the mains. When someone said matchbook, they meant just the cover that opens, not the whole matchbook. If you can fit a whole matchbook between the two, you are way off. You need to get a set of feeler guages. +6 on the timing should be great. Listen to what Jim has to say, he knows his stuff. If you have more questions about your setup, don't be afraid to ask Jim, that should be part of the services you hired him for.
  16. I have had a failing coil act like that also. I know it worked fine before, but stranger things have happened.
  17. Got a set of head lights w/no plastic grilles, good working order;$55 shipped.
  18. Depending on what your mods are, it was probably rich in the first place. I would think you would be around the 300 mark, but have never ran t-5's. Someone else will chime in.
  19. I spoke to dlNoss and his domes do not work w/the Trinity, so i am imagining the O-rings won't work either. I just called Trinity and ordered them, 877-FASTOYS. I think they were $25.
  20. Get a new set of plugs, let it idol for 10 minutes(after warming on another set) and chop those. That will help you tell how you are doing on your pilot.
  21. I never said you were an idiot. Anyone that has Phil thrashing in their signature must have some brains. CFH forever. RIP Dimebag!!!!!
  22. Roundhouse, Honda style, eccentric, its all the same
  23. I have been stopped twice in 4 yrs of riding there w/FMF's, and you are correct, both were on busy weekends.
  24. Call Sandtoyz unlimited 818-500-sand and tell him it is your first time buying. He quoted me 675 for a lonestar aerotube, chromed, w/lifetime warranty and carrier. Definately spend the money and go w/the honda style carrier.
  25. Yeah, I have been seeing that advertised on PS. I will probably swing over there to meet some of the guys. I would run mine, but have only run a half tank of gas through it. Still playing w/jetting. Are you going to the races?
