    A good example of what Dave is explaining is an extremely talented builder will cut a dome different for a 300ft setup compared to a 1/8 mile setup and it will make a big difference. The gas dome will work, and motor may run well, but not as well as it could....

    I have not seen it get into both cyls, but if it was run that way for a long time it is possible. The two are not sealed from each other, hence the reason you plug both sides when you do a leakdown test... Get your jetting figured out and go from there. I have run 32:1 w/no problems before. But I ended up running 40:1 w/klotz when I ran gas.

    Heat gun works well. Just heat em up some and peel, come right off.

    If he is losing tranny fluid, I would be concerned about the crank seal. Loco is correct in that it is way too rich as well. I would bet you have a bad right side crank seal as well...

    A leakdown test will help. How much oil are you talking? Is it smoking very noticeably worse out that side?

    It is most likely the crank seal on the right side. Pull your pipe off and see if you can actually dump oil out of it. You will eventually notice your tranny fluid level going down obviously.....
