  1. Whats the cut-off age for kiddies? lol jp Theres alot of those out there, thats the girl from big blue's avatar.
  2. Unfortunately, no. I was the only one laughing at my own stupidity. Those little quads kick ass. Fully auto, front drums, and an exhaust i cant even fit my pinky in, i can still endo, wheelie, and powerslide like no other quad. It's comfortable as a mother with a big padded seat and perfectly sized spaces for the adult rider's knees in the fenders (which only made the stiuation worse).
  3. I think I just creamed my pants...
  4. This is a stupid but funny ride of shame, and i'll try to explain as best i can. I was riding the little lt80 (helluva fun quad...wheelie forever, literally) just a little ride around the house. In the backyard I have a shed, trampoline, and swingset about 4 feet into our yard (a 4 ft gap between the big bushes that seperate my backyard from the neighbor on the next street's backyard, and the shed and swingset). This gap is like a little trail, you enter on the right side of the swingset, ride behind it and the shed, and exit out the left side of the shed, or vice versa. Anyway... I rode in from the shed side, but there was a big mud puddle next to the swingset, and i had fairly good clothes on and had just showered, so i cut through the middle of the swingset (where the swings hang) and i moved the swing on the left out of the way but i was going too fast to move the right too, so it caught the handlebar, yanked it right, pinned my leg between the throttle and the gas tank, accelerated (but had nowhere to go) so that the swing pulled the front end up. I was now hanging upside down by the leg on a full throttling quad with all four tires in the air, the grabbar half a foot in the ground, and tangled in a swingset. Quick thinking, I hit the killswitch. I couldn't move the quad, the swing, or the handlebars to get my leg out, so i lifted myself up, and started yanking my leg. At this point, the quad was leaking gas, my leg was in really bad pain, I had one hand one the left grip and one yanking on my leg, my leg had started bleeding, and my other leg was just helpless to do anything. I ripped my leg out and that made some room forthe handlebar to move, then the swing came off, then i moved the quad and put it upright. After getting it started and putting it away, I noticed a big ass lump where my leg had been pinned. I started laughing at my stupidity, then i touched the lump. OW! damn! HAHA *poke* OUCH! HAHA! See how easily amused I am?
  5. Fatties will be better. They don't sound as great, but they have higher hp numbers and better spread of power. Both are good though, pretty much opinion.
  6. Darwin awards are the best. I had 2 6 hour flights to hawaii and i read the 2 i couldnt stop laughing.
  7. dirtwheelingfinter426 (426 cause the hemi is better than the 454)
  8. drill an extension to loosen it some more, works great and gives a happy medium between loose and "crap i cant get it on".
  9. What gearing/tire size should I use for a ~1/4 mile (give or take 200ft)? I was thinking maybe a 17/39 with 20's, I might pin 6th by the finish, but just a bit curious if my motor would pull it, and whether that's a logical setup. Also, any ballpark guesses on what kind of times to expect? Mod's: FMF Fatties Coolhead w/ 20cc's 28mm flatsides Proflow filter Boyesen Carbon reeds/ cages Dirt digger clutch
  10. October's comin up fast guys. Whats the deal so far?
  11. Lookin for some 18-20" drag tires on rims, hoosiers, smoothies, whatever. Thanks, and what the hell does Nyuk mean anyway? Maxim's joke section is titled Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. i already read the names thread, just confused me.
  12. Lookin for some 20-22" drag tires on rims, hoosiers, smoothies, whatever. Also, some fronts, doesn't matter what kind, 20-21" on rims, will buy or trade straight up for some holeshots on heavy duty xc rims. Thanks, and what the hell does Nyuk mean anyway? Maxim's joke section is titled Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. i already read the names thread, just confused me.
  13. I'm from philly. Glamis is a hell of a long drive. Check in the Riding and events forum (where this should be btw, jp) , there's already a thread about local riding
  14. Start thinking outside the box. You don't have to do something to his car. A personal attack would be better suited, especially to a stupid person. Give us some info on the guy and we'll think of something good. And I mean really good.
  15. Lincoln mig or stick welding do it for me.
  16. I may only be a novice, but i agree, the people are what make this site the best. It may have lost some great and respectable members, but theres still enough knowledge and friendliness here to make it great. The banshee is probably the only quad that inspires a passion to the owner, and the onlyone to have so many devoted owners. I hope (someday) to be a pro and replace some of those people, along with other knowledgeable people.
  17. I remember about early 2000, I found the site. I read every post and hung around quite a bit, but it was kind of intimidating with so many knowledgeable people I never signed up till this year. Anyone remember Dragg-on?
  18. Damn Lee..can't think of it. Is it a newer movie or an earlier Jack Blacker?
  19. How about some snow studs? Do they work in snow or just ice? That would be a much better solution.
  20. "I like anything fast enough to do somethin stupid in."
  21. In the last AMA magazine, an article stated that while out on a ride, a woman (who happened to be a nurse) had a medical episode. Some blockage of the intestines or something. Her and the hubby were out in the middle of nowhere and the closest place was a farm run by a guy named Mario who didn't speak english. It was powered by a generator, and there was no phone. There was however, a sattelite connected to the internet. After searching for medical help and finding nothing, he went to www.thumpertalk.com and posted about it. 11 minutes later someone responded after calling a medicopter. She turned out ok after surgery, and got hundreds of get-well e-mails from people who saw the posts. She said "I never knew there was such kindness out there. It's like a big family." Kinda sounds like the HQ. Anyone else see this? I found it very interesting.
  22. Eastern NY is a little far. So far it's either bigwill's area or Rausch Creek MX. Any other ideas? I'd like to have a good place set so we can get working on a time/date.
  23. A little late, but ondeeznuts's banshee was in the september issue of dirtwheels. It looks so bare without your wife on there. Page 138, Reader's rides. "Banshee owners are indeed a proud and loyal group of ATV enthusiasts. We don't deny them their rightful place in the world of custom scream machines. Here's another one belonging to Jamie Gibson of Fairbury, Illinois. Unfortunately, he didn't go into much detail, except saying, 'I have a lot of money and love invested into it.'" That's cute Jamie
