  1. Change of plans...One of my pipes was cracked. He had a set of $590 CPI's layin around that are now in my quad. Estimate of $2360
  2. theyre some of the best musicians around right now. i love their music.
  3. Took the banshee to East Coast ATV and i'm getting it rebuilt and ported. Replaced the crank (no stroker...mx quad, had to keep it 350cc), resleeved it, wiseco pistons/rings, port job to match my fatty's, and jetted on the dyno. Picking it up friday, with a bill of $1550 I have a few things left until it will be COMPLETE: Shift pro, -2 swingarm, and new bushings all around.
  4. I'm lookin into gettin somethin to shift smoother. I have heard good and bad things about both. Which would you suggest?
  5. I already got the motor down there. Why shouldnt i do it at East Coast?
  6. Well, its been a while since ive posted on here, mostly because of a lack of time. I still roam the forums, but havent posted anything in a while. I got school, work, 2 bands, and all kinds of crazy stuff goin on. About 6 weeks ago i blew the top end and took it apart. almost got everything back together, just need to get my cylinders ported at East Coast. well its good to be back, and im hoping to make it to coalfest 2 this year.
  7. Well my band finally got a new singer, and let me tell you, he's got some talent. Anyway, we're looking to change our name and all four of us are stumped. The best we could come up with was "Swell for a Stranger". I'll get some demos songs up as soon as we record. Thanks for the help.
  8. Fight club Napolean Dynamite This is Spinal Tap Rock Star
  9. Sounds lean. Any weather changes since then? Check to see if something is blocking the fuel flow to the left side.
  10. And one more thing...it misses on ALL rpm's, so should I change the pilots, too? Or should I play with the air screw?
  11. I was running it slightly rich in the summer, because the track I raced at had different elevation charecteristics, therefore a denser air charge. But like I said, It has been ridden in the cold before, and it just slowly and steadily got worse and worse (from an occasional miss to backfiring every few seconds to not firing at all, with the occasional firing and revving). I have 290's in there now, should I bump them up to a 320 maybe?
  12. I guess it's just leaning out? I'm getting a little paranoid cause I'm getting rid of it soon and I want it to be in the best possible condition for the next guy.
  13. Took the carb off, slides move fine, jets all clean, still popping. The pipe blued really far up (almost past the bracket to the frame) after I ran it for a while, again indicating a lean condition. Any other suggestions? I have a kill switch tether, could that be acting up? Should I try to disconnect it? I don't get it, it's getting fuel (the carbs are at least), it's getting spark, and it's getting air. Could jetting be the culprit? Like I said it ran in the same weather before with no problems, but after running it in the snow for a while it started misfirning and then cut out completely, and after I ran it and the pipe blued, it started popping and backfiring.
  14. Plugs were replaced with three brand new sets i had, wires were swapped, still nothin. What should I check the timing plate for? It hasn't been changed since i got it. I really think it's a fuel problem, possibility of carb contamination? I don't know
  15. Problem just recently (and randomly) started happening to the banshee. It's a bitch to start up, and when it runs it idles on the left cylinder, and when i rev it(neutral or any gear) about halfway into the powerband the right side kicks in and it revs up much qucker. The engine is really erratic and somewhat unpredictable (more than usual ) Throttle response is delayed and when i let off it still wants to keep revving for a second. Its backfiring through the carbs on both sides. It's not an electrical problem, and compression is fine. Its run on the same jetting in this weather before so i know its not that. My guess is a fuel problem. The backfiring suggests a lack of fuel entering the cylinder. Any suggestions?
  16. Dude, it's posts like this that get you "flamed".
  17. Yea they can be pretty damn quick. I have one with simple mods (filter, exhaust, etc...) and it gained a ton of power. I can ride wheelies until i run out of road, no joke. With some more serious mods, ie porting, stroking, etc... it can outrun a blaster if geared properly. There was a built up one in dirtwheels i think a lil while back (kawi version of it) and it was roostin in the sand wit hpaddles on it. I love mine.
  18. Is your icon that evil little snowman from that ski game? That's so cool. haha
  19. 2-strokes let some of the mixture out the exhaust before closing up the port, i guess that will ignite, then when it hits the air it will blow. It could be done to a banshee, but i'm not gonna hack up my fattys for a flame that might work.
  20. Well it was 40 plus degrees since fall, and the first week it dropped to 5-20 degrees, we got 15 inches of snow! It was amazing...plows would get all the big stuff out of the way and leave an inch or so of hard pack snow. then it would accumulate again. 1-2 inches an hour. I couldn't get traction for crap and I'm jetted a little lean for the cold spell we're having, but it was fun nonetheless. My brother on a warrior would pass me because of traction, until i hit a dry spot and flew right by. I desperately need a -2 swinger.
  21. Auto Exhaust Flame Thrower For this one, all you need is a car, a sparkplug, ignition wire and a switch. Install the spark plug into the last four or five inches of the tailpipeby drilling a hole that the plug can screw into easily. Attach the wire (this is regular insulated wire) to one side of the switch and to the spark plug. The other side of the switch is attached to the positive terminal on the battery. With the car running, simply hit the switch and watch the flames fly!!! Again be careful that no one is behind you! I have seen some of these flames go 20 feet!!! Bet that would work pretty damn well on a 2-stroke, especially dual exhausts. The CDI is right between the silencers too. Only problem would be getting the spark plug in there right. Unless you got rockets or cpi's, the stingers are probably too small. Don't know how the silencer would handle it either. Someone better try this before this post makes it to page 2 on gen discs.
