  2. I picked up a new Banshee a couple days ago and it will not cold start without starting fluid. Everything is mechanically sound on the bike, but I'm not sure about the carbs. I normally would use my exhasut gas analyzer to jet them, but I'm out of CalGas at the moment and it may be a few days out. I'm thinking I might need bigger pilot jets, but this bike shouldn't have enough done for it to need larger than stock pilots. It has 310 mains. Someone please tell me what I need to do or what I am doing wrong.
  3. I rund Extreme Haulers and wouldn't run anything else. A couple of my friends have Edge's on their near stock bikes and they are fine. They hold up better than Sand Skates do when it comes to blades splitting. My duner is just a play bike with an empahasis on drag racing. I had her on the dyno yesterday and she was turning 94 rwhp.

  5. Dude you have the same problem I did don't spend money buying new reeds It is a jetting problem. I bought a used 87 and it wasn't jetted right I had to use starting fluid till it warmed up them it would start fine. the pilot jets are probabaly too small. they are what starts it then the main kicks in when it is warm and it will start ok right!!Mine has fmf fatties and he didn't have but a 25 pilot jet when it calls for 27.5 or 30. i just put my stock pipes back on and it is fine. But I do need to change my main back to 210 Im have a 250 in for the pipes.Lmk what you think or work out. Tim 280636[/snapback] I have the same problem on one of my bikes right now and it is caused by my pilot jets. Don't waste your moeny on anything else until you get that fixed. New properly gapped plugs can aslo help, but they aren't the problem or the solution.
  6. YOur windshiels is held in with a polyurethane adhesive (assuming it has never been replaced or fooled with). The adhesive breaks down and begins to leak after awhile. That could be it. It would seem to me that if you had major water damage under your dash that you would have noticd that your foot wells would have been full of water as well.
  7. The Rekluse units are pretty good. I have ridden a couple bikes with them on it. It certainly makes riding a high performance bike easier for the inexperienced sport rider. Someone would have a hard time selling me one of those setups for race use.
  8. I agree Pure Sports Bandits are fanatastic. It will be even more fantastic if you can find a set since Pure Sports went out of business sometime last year.
  9. I emailed the seller and asked how much shipping was going to be. I also commented that it was the nicest looking ucci I had ever seen. It also appears that the guy who owns the Banshees_Only eBay store has been bidding on the ucci.
  10. You generally want to keep the AF between 12.5 and 13.0 across the board. This also tranlates into .88 - .9 Lambda.

  16. You could drive a Geo Metro between the frame and the body thanks too that body lift. Unless its warranted to clear an engine swap, body lifts are shitty. You wouldn't be catching as much shit if you had a Suzuki Samurai.
  17. It all depends on what you're doing in the dunes, whether is be dragging, jumping, or just fooling around. Given an unlimited budget, don't screw around and get the good shit.
  18. You heard wrong, unless you pull them from the stock mounting tabs. Galfer or Fastline are the way to go for commercially available parts. Otherwise to to your local hydraulic shop nad have them through you a set together.
  19. I use the slutty power jet equivalent on all of my bike. its gives you +-5 main sizes at the very least. Very few people tune their bikes correctly and this is certainly na aid in doing so.

  21. I can't ressist coming up with atleast one bad contest idea. Back in college a few buddies and I would go "Moose" hunting at a local bar. The basic deal was that we all put in money and whomever was able to bring the ugliest woman home, won the money. We could convert that to whomever comes up with the pictures of the ugliest woman wins something.

  23. Just machine your side cover so you can kick the bike the other way. Most of my bikes have this done to them. One of my banshees didn't like that too much though and the kicker moves a bit when I rev it. Its no revelation that a two stroke engine will run in either direction of rotation. Oh yeah, and the description of how the Bombardier system works isn't exactly right. The engine actually stops for a second before it starts running backwards. Addditionally, since everyone seems to be interested, I have Catia files and G&M code for a set of cases similair toa the Mattoon cases. I have one engine built of this model. The downside is that it uses Banshee internals for the tranny, and its heavy, as machining the thickness equivalent of sheet metal isn't easy or quiet. If anyone is interested in one of these things and has a VMC to use, I'd sell them cheap.

  25. As far as getting them fixed my choice would be MP Racing out of Oregon. However, I've never used anyone for such work and have always done it myself. Steve from MP Racing is a good guy and I'm sure would give you a screamin deal.
