  1. Hmmm................I have never seen any like that before. Too bad I didn't see that auction before it ended. I would have bought those for a couple hundred bucks just to look at them.
  2. I am pretty sure it's good for everything they sell. I just couldn't find anything I wanted.
  3. I don't know anyone one who intends on braking an engine in on a dyno who starts them up elsewhere first. It sounds you had sort of a unique situation/experience though.
  4. I am not sure what this guy is up to yet. There are really only three things I can think of so far: 1.) UPS actually damged the carbs even though he says that it doesn't look like the box was damaged during transit (I finally heard back from him today and I told him that the carbs were fine when they left me, so that they had to be damaged during shipping, and I also told him how to go about filing a claim. I haven't heard back from him on that yet.). 2.) There really ins't anything wrong with the carbs and he is just trying to get some money back (if he is not going to file a claim with UPS, then he needs to send me pictures of what he is talking about.). 3.)He broke the carbs fooling around with them and he is trying to pull something working the "they were damaged when I got them angle." The guy only has a feedback rating of 17 on eBay all of which are within the last 90 days and he has 100% feeback, all as a buyer. I was looking through what he has been buying and it looks like mostly used Banshee parts, but the weird thing is that he has bought several duplicate parts (handle bar switches, etc.). I am still not sure what to make of the whole deal.
  5. Have you checked with Camburg? None of the stuff worth having suspension-wise on that model of truck is going to be inexpensive (unless you make it yourself).
  6. As long as the lightening is done by a competent person it shouldn't be a problem. As to whether it's a worthwhile mod or not, I have no opinion. I have done it to all of my motors over the past few years and I guess I can't remember what riding one with unmodified flywheel feels like to make a comparison for you. If you trail ride or race MX I would say it's not worth doing. Do a search in the forums on this topic and you will find a ton of info.
  7. What's a sharp machine. I am assuming it's made by Sharp, but I didn't know they made CNC machines. I have had several job titles ranging from manufacturing engineer to mechanical engineer. I have a BS ins vehicle design and an MS in mechanical engineering. If I had it to do over again, I would probably get an MBA instead of the MSME. I took the EIT portion of the PE test while I was still working on my BS degree and finally got the whole license process taken care of about 4 years ago in Washington. I moved to California fairly wuickly after that and I haven't ever bothered to try an figure out the PE process down here. I can tell you this, my PE license has not done a damn thing for me, in fact I have never had an oppotunity to use it. It obviously isn't something that it hurts to have, I am just not sure how worthwhile it is these days.
  8. I have not seen a set of a-arms like that before. I have no idea who made them. The zerk on the ball joint would be something that would be found on an aftermarket VW or Chrysler tie rod end that some a-arm manufacturers use.
  9. Reallly...............? Why donm't you reccomend it? I have broken every motor I have built in the last five years on a dyno. Everyone in the racing business also run their engines on dyno's before they make it into a vehicle. Every OEM vehicle manufacturer from ATV's, to personal watercraft, to whoever built the car that you drive brake their engine in on a dyno.
  10. The CNC program thing is a very usefule talent. The rest is pretty much worthless. Nobody care's if you can do it or not.
  11. With certain sort of equations and math techniques I can look at it and see the answer. Square roots are one of those things, altleast most of the time. I can do the same thing with CNC programs when relating them to a print. Past that sort of stuff I need to atleast write it down on paper to work with it.
  12. I just got the catalog last night. I didn't see anythiing I needed though. I will have to look harder.
  13. Word. Do a search.
  14. The Wiseco rings are for a forged piston and the stock pistons are cast. Hence the difference and the unfortunate result listed above.
  15. My ModQuad intake with the crossover in it is great. I am am completely satisfied with it. I wouldn't think you would need to rejet based on that, unless the intake you are replacing was really restrictive. For the stator cover gasket I always just used Yamabond behine the aftermarket covers.
  16. Has anyone else been having trouble with the site again today? There was about an hour I couldn't enven open it. It just gave some screen that said Joomla.
  17. He hasn't told me what he wants from me yet. He has just asked what I advise him to do. :verymad:
  18. I heard too much maturbation can make you go blind...................
  19. Somebody will probably have to literally remind me the week before you guys go, otherwise I'll forget.
  20. Sure, computers, calculators, etc. help you doing your job (and mine) every day, but you pretty much need to know how to do the work by hand in the first place to ever be successful using the aforemention tools.
  21. I am thinking he means the pic in his signature?
  22. \Word. Dave is a good guy. I don't think he was beating you up in this case.
  23. No worries........I was ju8st being dramatic.
  24. If you wouldn't mine hanging on to them for a day or two, I'll let you know if I need them.
  25. If you go by just what the title of this thread is, then I would say burning time can be defined as the length of time between when you find out that it burns when you pee and going to the doctor.
