I would be happy to as soon as I clone myself. I am in Dillon, CO on Freightliner's SUmmer Test tour of the western US. Then, I get to hang out at one of my operations in Denver for two weeks. If I wind working less than 100 hours per week here soon, I may look at helping out here.
THe dune season is a month or so away from being over here in the North. The SoCal season is about to get going here though. Pismo is a year-round deal though.
This is definitely a cool project. Especially if you are trying to do the Banshee hobby on a budget. With that said, I looked at doing this once upon a time and found that it has the potential to be alot of work to make it work well and look pure.
If I were to make a general statement on this particular deal, I think one might get a better cost benefit from an aftermarket shock made for your application. Of course if you are like and think projects like this are fun, are low on fundage, or a really talented when it comes to the fabrication and suspension design, then this may be a project right up someones alley.
First, I didn't mind the down time. Poo happens.
Second, some of the image loading is kind of funny, but not all of it.
Third, the weird, laggy loading of forum pages in general seems to have gone away.
Last, I generally hold a low opinion of the IT industry and it's people (atleast until they prove otherwise). With that said, in respect to the data center staff, got get 'em Lee. There's no excuse for incompetence in your field at work. I hope you get a chance to verbally insert your foot in their ass.
I personally like 400EX's alot. Whether it's a wife's bike, backup bike, trail bike, or camp toy at the dunes, they are always a blast. I have borrowed a few of them at the dunes over the years (when one of my Banshees or trikes took a dump) and really had alot of fun on them. The engines are simple (in a good way (and y'all know I am an engine nerd)), they handle well in almost all situations, and they can be made to run pretty hard (for a 400cc engine that is of a 30 year old design). :geek:
Are you sure about that figure for Florence? I may have made up the 89db number...................
Either way, the CPI silencers probably could have worked fine, but I wanted something different.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you could always have had your purple frame re-coated or gotten away from your '80's paint job. Then, the tank wouldn't have to be the victime. How do you think that makes the tank feel?
This may not be what you want to hear, but if you get the numbers off the bearings, then you can just buy them from an industrial supply house of your choice. :geek:
Yeah it will raise the front end. If you want to raise or lower it properly you need new shocks............................or air bags, or hydraulics, or a bunch of guys on the back, or one fat chick. Gimmeeabeer knows a few of them if you don't know any of your own.
