  1. Word. Check for bent things as well. I would guess you have some extra play in a couple of your steering joints which is allowing the steering tie rod end to move outside of it;s range of travel and then go back to being seated which in turn causes your symptoms.
  2. Do a search on this site on this topic. We have gone over it a few times with varying amounts of fidelity. Liftd4R has a deal for the gusset kits I believe, while other on here have made and installed their own. AN extreme example might be from BigRed350x. :geek:
  3. Out of most alcohol type fuels, E85 and M85 tend to be the most mainstream and are easy to deal with. On toip of that, in many areas of the country (midwest) E85 is near free. Especially in the winter. :geek:
  4. I like those bikes. Nice work!
  5. Finding a good plating vendor in SoCal is next to impossible. I have tried many withou much success. They are right up there with heat vendors, grinders, and custom tool makers with regards to quality issues. Beyond that, there are several different types of chrome processes out there, so you should learn a bit about what you are paying for prior to choosing a shop. On top of that, used parts are almost always more expensive to deal with unless you can provide them to the vendor in a blasted and polished condition. Powder coating may actually be a better route to go for the general hobbyist, unless of course you hate yourself and like dealing with retarded folks.
  6. E85, M85, M100,E100, it's pretty much all the same.
  7. How do you know all of these components have actually failed?
  8. That's what I have. I think I have the black one on both of my bikes.
  9. Two things: 1.) You link doesn't work correctly. 2.) The Project 321 cap is cool, but on the same level, I like the Pro-Tec see-through cap better.
  10. Maybe your part of CA is 15 psi higher than everywhere else.
  11. I apologize for the off topic wandering, but I tend to do that. Two things: 1.) Nate McCoy does some good work, but he can be full of BS sometimes and tends to have a back log of work. 2.) If you feel confident in your ability to manage a vendor who is doing work for you and you feel technically confident, then Trinity might be a way to go. They are reasonably priced and do a goos job if you know what you want and are not retarded.
  12. NorCal might as well be a different state if you are comparing SoCal to it. My major bitch about SoCal is the cost of living, the endless pavement jungle, the self-absorbed people, and the fact that the people are stacked right on top of each other. IF you lived up in the high desert, it might not be so bad, unless you had to work in the city.
  13. That was faster than __________
  14. 2 kicks if I haven't been home in awhile. 1/2 a kick if I have been home.
  15. It took a bit of work for me to bail out of there. If I would have bought a house there I would have been screwed. With regards to other folks there, I think if you grew up in SoCal, you might not know any better.
  16. I agree. Generally Strap-On is over priced. Sears gets the same job done for a home mechanic with a good mix of value and quality. :geek:
  17. For $4k, you need to figure you're getting off cheap.
  18. SoCal, PlanetSand, there seems to be a major trend there. Everybody thinks they are better than everyone else. However, since everbody can't be better than everybody, the people are twice as big of idiots.
  19. I still haven't actually been inside the Cascade shop yet. I meant to do it this weekend, but got pseudo screwed by work and a visit from my parents. I have also been meaning to swing by Direct Drive in person.
  20. Did you not have any luck with Yamaha? Coming up with the proper circumference sounds like something that will result in alot of trial and error after you begin the learning process involved in spring clip design theory. :geek:

    v-arm pics

I am pretty sure there is no such thing as a v-arm. I think it is probably an a-arm someone is naming incorrectly. However, I certainly don't know everything and would definitely like to see what someone is calling a v-arm.
  22. This subject is really no where near as straight forward this thread seems to be making it. You really need to read the chapter of the Bell book on expansion chamber theory. There is another book by Dixon that also has several good chapters of reading on expansion chamber theory. :geek:
  23. I didn't know other people besides me, lie to Canada......................Shocking.
  24. I think it's more along the lines of my garage isn't quite full of crap yet. I bought a nifty new work light for it today, though, so atleast I am making progress.
  25. ..............christ, I just about wt myseldf I was laughing so hard. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
