Oh come on, they are not the main components in race gas. In fact, they're not even close to being a major component. I think you will find about 4% tolulene in a standard 120 octane unleaded fuel and about 1.7% xylene. These two chemicals also tend to brake down and rearrange hydrocarbon chains to their liking (which is what makes them a good solvent), so it may not be best to be mixing them into your fuel yourself, unless you have a good chemical background and some crude lab equipment at your disposal.

....................beyond that on a 180 degree opposed firing twin, such as the Banshee engine, there is not any reason to balance the crankshaft. Each portion of the crankshaft related to the pins and arms can be really out of balance with respect to each other and the engine will still be fine, but the crank has to be true. If the crank isn't true and parallel it won't matter how well balance it might be. :geek:

Noss is good people, which is definitely hard to find in this industry.

Can you post a pic of the rock guard option? I am interested in what they are doing. :geek:

Fisrt, I love the name (Mark). You have to be careful with companies such as Full Flight and ASR as they are on the lower end of the market. I would assume that they cut some corners with materials and jig manufacture to keep costs down. Hopefully some of the folks on here have bought the product in question and can give some good feedback (about the only way I would feel comfortable kicking out the money for something from this company) :geek: .

I agree here. Normally I am not a fan of OEM chemicals, but Yamaha does really well with most of there stuff. It is not just rebottled poo. On a similar note, you have to remember that there are only a small fraction of people in the world that actually make automotice'esque chemicals. Most products you see are rebottled. Lucas is one of those companies that makes me wonder how they make the money that justifies their major racing expenditures. On the surface they don't appear to have a market share that would support such things. :geek:

Are you familiar with their alternative fuel vehicle operations? Some of them are sort of funny. Roush is a big deal outside of racing for sure. Most people don't realize where the money is really made with the companies who also field NASCAR teams. Hendricks, Evernham, Rousch, Yates, etc. make all their money with their car dealerships and related operations. As with most premier race series competitors, the racing portion of their affaris winds up being not unlike a bad charity. On a somewhat related note, Jack Rousch is a really nice guy. I have spoke with him on several occasions. He impressed me with the working knowledge he had of all of the operations with his name on them, which I think is quite uncommon with NASCAR royalty these days. I like to think Jack would remember me, but the longer I am gone from the racing arena, the less likely a chance of that happening there is. I think the first time he met me, he thought I was one of TRD's hired guns from Cosworth, and didn't think much of me, but then I aksed him about some of his planes and we hit it off pretty well after that.

If you need help, you know what my email address anfd you also know I'll get back to you pretty quickly 20 hours out of the day.

Once you get the email done, tell me what email address is you used and I will see if I can maybe help some. :geek:

I am pretty sure I would tell you the same thing. All the other folks in the industry can't hold a decent tolerance for their lives. Jeff is about the only onmme who can and therefore cannot be expected to make custom part to support other people crap.

I was just back out there tonight and had another fantastic experience with them. I couldn't be happier.

I think Lee can be sort of hard to get ahold of at times. You just have to keep after him.

Post a up a pic of your exhaust. I need to buy one of those I think. :geek:

That sounds about right. I have heard similair issues from some folks out in Boring, OR and DMR. Mr. Ohton definitely has some serious issues. I'm sorry to hear about your problem with them. Lee (also his user name on here), owns this site and I am sure would be more than happy to work with you folks. I need to buy some hillshooter shocks from you guys here at some point............ :geek:

There is absolutely no reason to balance a Banshee crank! (noy to say I have not done it for fun) However trueing is absolutely necessary. Falicon is a good company for such things, but others can certainly do the same work. On a personal rant, Falicon has terrible leas times and have several employees on the customer side of things that fill you up full of BS. They do make some neato cranks for the privateer super bike racing and drag racing folks.

After agreeing to visit JJ and A this evening in Boring, OR, I mentioned that I needed a rod put on one of my Twister crankshafts and inquired as to where in town Twister was located. Jeff called Louie and sent me across the highway to find him. After a bit of searching for the address, I found the place and went to know on the door (it was like 7pm). After a bit of conversation Louie showed me their shop and their newest cylinder design all the time agreeing to sort my crankshaft out and get me some gaskets I needed. Later on, I found out it wa his sons birthday tonight and he still agreed to see me well after business hours. Twister is a class act. Louie is very knowlegable and is willing to go far above and beyond to help a relative stranger. In fact I am going back out there tomorrow evening after hours to look into spending some more money. If you need anything Twister sells, do not hesitate to buy anything from them!

I went out to the JJ and A shop this evening to work out a deal for the key I lost for my old JJ and A axle and after looking at it, Jeff decided just to give me a brand new axle assembly. He has a small shop on the same property at his house, but he has reasonable equipment (including a long stroke horizantal broach machine (practically don't exist on the west coat anymore) in it and it very knowledgable about what he does for a living. I was impressed enough to buy a set of spindle mount front wheel assemblies from him on the spot. If you are looking for anything that JJ and A sells, do not hesitate to do business with them.

I think a 15 year old kid got tired of you trying to do math, so he posted pictures of his a-arms.

.........I own a Ford diesel, but that's about all I knmow about Ford's diesel operation. I know quite a few folks from the Roush operation in SoCal (or what's left of it), many of them came from Stroppe, which is a whole other long story. Did you know anyone from there?

I grew up in a differnet type of area where everyone carried guns (farm country). DDC is in a few places in Detroit. The pilot assembly area on Outer West drive is usually the place I wind up. Most of my bad Detroit experiences were when I was there fooling around with Ford several years ago.

Email Yamaha directly. Tell them you are a college engineering student and this is part of your Mini Baja project. I don't think you can buy just this part from Yamaha, so this might be the only way to get this done.

what do you guys think of these

I am running a +12" arm and I definitely need one. I wil by one from JLATV one of these days when I get some time to do so. I wouldn't give RDZ a case of VD, let alone my money. :geek: -
When the stabbing thing went down, I was running back and forth between the Big D and Flatrock when Ford was opening the new mustang line, but like I said, that was a few years ago. Now, when I come to Detroit, it's to visit with the folks from my company, Detroit Diesel Corp. :geek:
