When you clean out your jets use the litttle wire insinde of a bread twist tie or any twist tie. you can use all the carb cleaner you want if there is something really small it wont get it. jets are made to be a certain circumfrence if it is obstructed at all that may be your prob. it seems as if you may need some other help with this instead of doing it alone
really all depends on your bike i have same setup on mine as my buddy does with complete different jets. best thing to do is go out and do the good old plug chop test to dial in your specific set up. base your start point around ducmans opinon though should be pretty close to that.
i would be careful about raising te needle clip (moving it up) and going bigger on your pilot. you would really be leaning your bike out and may cause pre-ignition if you do it be sure to go bigger on your main then take it out and plug chop it with some old plugs to be safe.
All of you guys are saying detonation which is true for the collapsing of the ring land around top of piston which is caused by a low octane fuel. But the hole in the top of the piston is caused by pre-ignition which can be caused by improper air/fuel mixture(lean) or improper ignition timing. causes too much heat which melts hole in top of piston. I would bring your needle clip down a notch and retard your timing a bit.
