A-arms + Swing Arm With Stock Shocks ?
DUNEDEMON replied to Demon350's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
By changing your a-arms and swing arm you have increased the "motion ratio" of your individual suspension components, this will result in a lighter wheel rate (less effictive spring rate at the wheels) thus the bike will feel much softer than it did in stock form. -
Sorry to hear that.

Alright my "rookie" ass is going to chime in. I have nothing against Dex personally, but when he said by virtue of posting that he made it a HQ issue, and for the most part we here on the HQ all have each others backs, especially if someone is trying to get over on them. Dex could have sent a PM or E-mail to u2354 and dealt with it like a gentleman, instead it was handled in typical BT fashion, an overzealour moderating team trying to shape the forum into what they would like to see, and that, IMO is the problem with BT. But not here on the HQ - let freedom reighn.

I hear you. I've got an 18 moth old boy. I was in the garage getting everything ready for Glamis last week, and same thing except Taylor (thats my son's name) pics up my orange (he's learning his colors) snap-on dead-blow ball peen hammer (he's learning his tools too), I turn around in time to see him going from pounding on my peggs to getting ready to take a swing at my new Shearer pipes, lets just say the ninja reflexes kicked in and I saved them from the pending blow. Man my heart about hit the floor, he found it quite funny though, so did the wife "thats what you get for turning our son into a gear-head already" He likes going for rides on my bike too, he calls it the "broom broom" I feel your pain sredish.

Did any one go for Presidents weekend? How was it? Crowded? Weather?

I hear the carbon fiber A-arms are the best for jumping your drag bike off big jumps, you should get a set, shit get 2 sets if they are that good. Anyone thinking about trading with this guy might want to ask some serious in-depth questions.
-
Lonestar carbon fiber A-arms? Really..........
-
That is howie's way of giving back to nature- starting a new dune! Helping to preserve Glamis for our future generations.
-
I personally do not have any experience with the magura hydraulic clutch, but my engine builder doesn not like them because aparently if they are not set up / adjusted correctly they will return too slow.

I've been going to Glamis for almost 10 years now, and have camped just about everywhere. I personally HATE the washes, one road in and the same one out, busy when time to leave, dusty as hell, noisey 24 hours a day. The flats are ok on an "off weekend", on a busy weekend with all the vendors that place is like a mall at christmas time. Gecko is cool, depending on where you stay it can be busy and noisey late at night and early in the morning. Cement flats is nice but fills up quickly. Roadrunner (the loop at the very end of Gecko Road) is my personal faveorite, but is the first spot full on busy weekends. We usally stay out in the dunes off Gecko, kind of between the drags and the vendor pad (sweet maries) put the truck in 4WD, air the tires down to 15psi and go for it. No dust, pretty quiet, plenty of room for a large group, closer to the dunes.

Amen Brother Boonman!! Thank You for taking the time to post what everyone else was thinking.

Sorry, I was holding out, didn't want a bunch of mooches showing up for all the free goods. Taking names now, get your spot on the list early as it will fill quickly, for the next Dunedemon Glamis Camp-A-Thon................

If you are looking for a reputable engine builder in So Cal call (909) 797-1585 "Custom Creations ATV" the owners name is Kevin, tell him Blaine sent you. He can build your engine / port your cyls. for whatever type of power you want, he also builds some trick swing arms, A-arms, frames, spindles, stems etc...

boost bottle? I am dissapionted.

Perhaps because you repeatedly post the same question in multiple areas, patience my man, and give some thought to how you word your questions. Remember, respect is earned.

If your original pieces are worn (especially the swing arm roller) new parts will make an improvement. I have the complete kit from http://www.upprcaing.com they work well and wear good, plus they are split (swingarm and rear guide) so installation is a snap. I also ran TM Designworks stuff in the past with decent results, with the exception of their rear chain guide / roller - bearings did not last.
-
I figured it would be enough too, don't know what else I can offer, hell the wife ended up making dinner and passing it out too, and Wallrat had the extreme pleasrue of riding the Dunedemon's machine Hell, free beer, free dinner, thrill ride, what more do you want? I guess I could offer a hellafied-gangsta'-roosting, and my dog Howie will hump your leg too.

Believe me I've tried.. They are stingy bastards and think that the tires sell themselves. Their marketing department only pushes their watercraft parts, hell my bike is going to be featured in the next issue of Sand Addiction Magazine and they would not work with me on tires, ITP did so they will get the advertisement.

You don't buy beer, you rent it. Value? compare the price of a 30 pack of Coors Light to a 30 pack of Guiness.
-
Bump YES! I got the first bump in this forum sorry, I couldn't help myself.........
-
I used some brake cleaner to remove all the crap, followed by some compressed air to clean the area, then applied some penetrating oil (those snap rings tend to seize in the grooves) After all of that they came right out with snap-ring pliers, used an arbor press for the bearings.
-
Don't forget timing advance, and lighten the flywheel.
-
Depending on how your case vent line is run, you can lose gear oil when stood on end.
-
Our plannig may have left a bit to be desired. It's looking like Roostfest will be a better chance for some of us to meet and put some faces to the names. But hell Wallrat and I got to hang out, do some riding and have a good time, even if he does drink / chew Guiness. Efward how was Arizona?

Have your buddy get in touch with Woodman here on the HQ, I hear he has a conversion kit that allows you to install a YFZ450 swinger onto the Banshee.
