You know when you've been married at least 5 years when your wife asks you questions, you give answers on autopilot, have no recolection of ever having heard the question or saying the answer only 5 minutes ago, but she has proof that you did!

That commercial cracks me up. Its definitely very odd, yet entertaining. My wife hates it. I think Jack-in-The-Box should make a similar add showing a little more skin in retaliation.

Ever notice that some motor oil is somewhat red? We were at the lake one time when I was a kid with our old POS boat that apparently my dad was worried about leaking or becomming low on oil. Of all containers immagineable my dad filled a 2 liter plastic bottle that once contained generic strawberry soda with 30 wt motor oil out of the drum on the farm. It was a scortching hot water ski day on Shasta lake and there was this bottle of strawberry soda lying next to the picnic blanket, food, and icechest on the shore. I tipped that baby back ready to chug down some soda, when.... Uuuuugh! Luckily I didn't swallow any, or very much, but let me just say that shit doesn't come out of your mouth very easy! However, I'd rather take a swig of good ol' 30wt over piss any day!

*CT Legislature proposes Bill to Ban ATV's*
Ducman replied to Wheatchex's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Tree huggin Nazi's! While there at it why not ban riding Horses, water craft, pleasure aircraft, or going outside your house and have fun? -
Those look like oldschool FMF goldseries, don't SST's have SST stamped on the pipe? If thats the case then the Toomys will perform about the same, but there is still the bling difference to consider. If you have a nice black PC job on the Toomys I'd stick with those.

Just curious if you had to trim the stinger tube using duners pipe seal. I have some made by chosen performance with my rockets that look similar, a little more decorative, slightly larger dia, and cost a few more $, and required a bit of trimming on the stinger tube to make the spacing to the silencer mount work out. If I get the new style silencers (which look way better than the old ones) and stinger tubes I might get a seal from duner so I don't have to trim.

How long have you been running this motor? It took my 4mm motor about 3 tanks of gas before it seamed like it was totally broke in and quit spitting oil. It also seamed to be running really rich at first, which it was but only on the needle. Did the person that did the porting have any jetting suggestion? When I did my 4mm setup, dune port, bored stock carbs, foam filter W/ stock airbox - lid off, the builder told me that 330 mains should be big enough. He said that typically ported stock crank motors will need a bigger main that a stroker because the shorter stroke doesn't pull fuel out of the carbs as efficiently as a stroker. Just throwing out some ideas. I would think 380's should be plenty big and if your fouling plugs, maybe too big. But you could be fouling due to a rich needle. If it starts and idles for a long time without dieing then I doubt it the pilots. How is it running off Idle, mid range and top end? How many sets of plugs did you foul, how fast, and what type of riding, ie how much were you on the pipe WOT?

If you get the 795 series pistons and run a spacer plate you could probably use a un-modded stock head or standard cool head dome. You could get a very basic port job for $200-300 usd, or fully ported for $500. With a very mid port a 4mm stoker will be a monster low to midrange with good top end. I'm sure there are some builders out there that can accept paypal which will convert Can $ to usd when making a payment. I know a local builder (Northern California) that would accept paypal payment. His 4mm banshee made 70HP SAE with super low end/ mid range (MX port) on stock carbs.

Mines not too bad.

I haven't ever heard of anyone with idle problems from lightening a stock flywheel. This mod is noting but good as far as performance, if the machine work is done by someone with experience then there is no risk as far as messing up the flywheel. PM boonman, he does them for a good price and fast turnaround. He also shaves stock heads.

My wife had a blaster and did pretty good on it, but she likes having a 4 stroke with electric start a lot better. Also If you get a used blaster do the oil injection block off mod. The oil injection system is unreliable and caused my wifes to sieze the rod. Then can also use gas mixed for your shee in the blasty..

Seems like I remeber 87-89 are a different different bolt pattern. Does anyone know for sure which years are interchangeable? I'm pretty sure 1990 - 2005 are the same but dont know for sure. Thanks

Can you PM me a pic or 2 of the 03' front banshee rims and how much you want with or without the tires. Please make pic files small. Thanks

You could always getcha pair of DG's with silencers?

chozenperformance.com makes some nice looking billet pipe seals. They are on page 5 or 6 of the banhsee parts on the website. They won't list a size for shearer but if you measure them and call them up I'm sure they have a size that will fit. I had to trim the stinger tube about 1/2" to make the spacing to the silencer mount work on my rockets. And, no, many diferent brands of pipes use different diameter stinger tubes. My rockets are way bigger than the FMF's I had.

When you order works shocks they valve them specifically for your weight, set up and riding style, so I would say that they would work very nice for a specific set of conditions. The YFZ shocks will only cost about $220 shipped from e-bay and they are fully adjustable so they can be set up for just about any riding style or conditions. When I ride my wifes YFZ on the factory settings it takes a lot to make it bottom and I weigh 260 lb. My banshee with stock shocks bottoms out easily with the preload maxed out. If you up the preload on YFZ shocks you will not have any problem with bottoming out on a +2 arms. The YFZ shock has to have the lower or upper, I forget which, mount ground down a bit to fit the banshee. Its supposed to be a pretty simple mod. I personally am planning to do the same mod as you in the future using the stock YFZ shocks.

You dont want any air flow around the slide. Oval bore might be one way to get a little more total open area. You might also consider getting a pair of 28mm flat slide carbs, they'll fit the stock intake and airbox boots and flow better than stock carbs, so it'll just cost you 2 carbs and a cable, about $250.

Plugged pilot jet or air leak is my guess

The main sign that a reed is worn out is if it does not make a good seal with the surface of the cage, ie it doesn't lay flat on the cage surface. Look for visible signs of wear, frayed chiped or cracked edges, discoloration ect. If the reeds were used for over one year and have a lot of hours on them I'd probably replace them to be safe. Be sure to get all of the reed retainer plates installed in the same configuration as they are now if you change them. If you turn the plates around it will make the reed less stiff, wear out fast, and be unreliable. If a reed breaks off it will wreck your tip end.

Sounds about right to me. You may just want to do some WOT plug checks and see if it looks lean. The difference in V-2's and V-3's is how they are put together, they will run the same.

I don't think the stock silencers will fit any aftermarke pipe and it wouldn't work right like previously mentioned. Don't be afraid to jet your shee, if you want to mod, you'll need to learn anyway. Its only a PITA the first time you do it.

Cool wife! If you are running the stock air filter with the airbox lid on, snorkel removed, then run 260-270 mains, if the air box lid is off then you probably have an aftermarket filter and adapter plate then run 280-290 mains. You should be able to use 25 pilots if you turn your air screws to about 0.5 turns out from seated. Needle 3rd or 4th clip from blunt end. Dont put silicon sealent on your reed cage gasket, what you are seeing is 2 stroke oil that is left behind from the gas, it is normal. If you still have the stock reed stops (curved metal piece) and white reeds then they are probably stock.

After it is good and broke in the boggy off idle response should go away. When the motor is fresh it will be a little cold blooded when you first fire it up. After you run all the break in gas through the motor, go to a 32:1 gas/oil ratio (if you are using Yamalube 2R).

who is that at the top of the page?
Ducman replied to FlatTrackinIt55's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I saw a post not too long after the background changed, some guy said it was a picture of himself taken at St Anthonys dunes. He didn't know that the picture was going to be used as the BHQ background but that he was flattered. -
I would Prefer the goldish bronze colored stock YFZ 450 lower Rt a-arm if possible to match 04' limited frame color, but silver will work if you got one. Need stock YFZ handlebars Need a stock front YFZ rim in good shape, or a nice set of stock front Banshee rims, tires are not needed. I can pay with paypal. Please send me a PM with a resonable price shipped to CA 96022 if you can sell me any of these parts. Thanks, Zack
