After you get it smooth with sandpaper, take a soldering torch, get a BLUE flame (no soot) and lightly heat up the sanded edge. It will give it a glossy, rounded factory apperance. Try it on a scrap piece of fender to get the technique down.

I think you will never get it as straight as it was. But if you have tools, it's worth a try. Get it close and run it. I would not heat it.

The situation in Africa is very sad. We are, as we should, helping out over there quite a bit. However, the people running those governments are fighting for contol of the aid we give in order to control the people. Anyone remember the Blackhawk situation in Africa?? You can't help anyone in those types of situations. You have to get the government straight first. As far as debt relief, if they owe money, they should repay it. I would like to know exactly what they spent the money on. I bet weapons and korans are up on the list. As far as me PERSONALLY going to Africa to help out, I will have to pass on that. The African-Americans here have conditioned me to be WAY defensive when there is a large number of black folks around me. Just my character flaw. I was one of 3 white kids in my high school. That bike isn't top 5 at Glamis. 90 hp isn't much for the hillclimbs at Glamis. I was waching speedworld dirtbike hillclimbs with bikes that had 150 hp OFF the bottle, with angle iron bolted to their tires for treads. THAT is some sick shit. They were climbing some near vertical hills.

I think if you take 5 off , poorly tuned or not, you will be a roost inspector. 5 hp helps ALL the time. I think the extra 5 on top is actually more benificial to lower level riders. They might make up for a bad start, misshift or poor technical abilities. But all I know is sand. Might be different in the woods.

Yeah, you need to set your timing back to 0 or just put the oem plate back on. I know this to be fact with the Dyna fs.

Get a clymers manual and follow the directions. Use new or gently used parts. Get with people on here about how to do certain things that clymers isn't clear on. You will get her running in no time!!!!!

My Dyna FS has been a great addition. I haven't even tried all the timing curves yet. I still have my 03 stock cdi if you need one....

Ok. seems you wanna keep flaming. I have a stroker. I also have stock bikes. I also own a friggin polaris, so don't assume what the hell I have or what experience you think I lack. I am aware that many things can be done to make a banshee faster (or slower in this case). I also know that the more you modify the motor, the more attention it requires to keep it in top shape. I am also aware that Yamaha has been using nykasil on certain bikes for a while now. The Banshee is just a whole different beast than Yamaha's 4 stroke motors. I doubt nykasil wil be just like new if you melt a piston. Banshee's DEMAND careful maintanance jetting-wise. The motor is basically very hard on itself just because of the nature of a two stroke. If you sell this to a person who knows NOTHING about jetting,(most people) he will end up just as blown as if he had some stock jugs. Then they will wish they could have read some counter points on this set up in order to make the best decision possible in regards to how involved they are with the mechanical side of their Banshee. I know people who only ride their Banshee twice a year. Thanksgiving and Halloween. They go out with a perfectly running stock bike, try to drag, get beat, and then say,"As soon as I get back, I'm gonna get a stroker." I discourage them from doing so because I know they will not maintain the bike properly. Hell, they can't even change jets in what they currently have. If you say that this mod is a perfectly safe and trouble free way to make your Banshee a tree loving machine, I say not so. And I really don't care if you listen to me or not. If you sell this to a person who knows a few things about jetting and the like, and wants to slow down his cubs, right on. But don't call me a fuckface or call me stupid for not buying a builders opinion wholesale. I really don't think the initial point of this thread is being addressed. Detuning some hot cyls to run at less than peak performance doesn't make sense to some of us. Obviously it makes sense to some of you, and thats cool. But damn, let us sand dwellers say our piece.
