  1. Yeah it seems to be lacking that Carlin edge IMO. Personally I love his rants on religion - wait...make that organized religion. Here's a good one of his: (btw if you're offended by the possibility that maybe other people don't share your views on religion, stop reading now...) George Carlin on Religion When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit! But I want you to know something, this is sincere, I want you to know, when it comes to believing in God, I really tried. I really, really tried. I tried to believe that there is a God, who created each of us in His own image and likeness, loves us very much, and keeps a close eye on things. I really tried to believe that, but I gotta tell you, the longer you live, the more you look around, the more you realize, something is flowered up. Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the r
  2. That just keeps you honest. Actually I've been riding twist throttle since I was a kid (grew up on dirtbikes) and I've never hit the gas unintentionally on the shee. Its just a matter of getting used to keeping your wrist rigid when you ride.
  3. For your type of riding you might be looking at overkill with the cheetahs. Why not just get a wiseco h129 crank, 795 pistons, some carbs, intakes, filters, porting, etc. and build yourself a stroker?
  4. Timing advance is still a good mod, as is the lightenned flywheel. I'm not familiar with the setup you're looking at purchasing but keep in mind the other stuff you'll need. h129 crank 795 series pistons New Carbs filters intakes reeds porting 3 HD clutch springs pipes if u don't already have em gaskets and seals
  5. Stock cranks don't hold up too well and they aren't 100% rebuildable. Even if you replace the bearings, 9 times outta 10 you're gonna have some play/seperation issues that will lead to premature bearing failure. IMO its not worth trying to rebuild a stock crank. If it were me I'd pull it apart and replace the crank with a wiseco that's 100% rebuildable. Actually it was me and that's what I did, went with a stroker while I was at it too.
  6. Ya know I was just thinking that for all the money we've been putting into lighting we could have just gotten helmet mounted night vision and really upped the coolness factor. If the rangers chase ya, just kill the lights and let em try to find you while your riding away at 50mph! Hmm crap...anybody wanna buy some helmet mounted HID's?
  7. Do you like to flower it too?
  8. Also something to consider is that the banshee hasn't been significantly changed since 1991 but the price continues to go up on the new models. Why buy an 06 for $6k when you could pick up a mildly modded '04 for $5k? The first thing you'll want to do to the new bike is change the pipe and filter and jet accordingly. Might as well save some cash and let someone else buy the mods.
  9. Plus you can do a full shee rebuild in a long weekend. Try that with a 4 stroke!
  10. What the hell language is that? Brooke if your going to be speaking tongues at least take Walt out of your mouth first...
  11. Hey Stan my wife is a nurse on the orthopedic floor at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. 90% of her victims are knee surgery peeps. If you've got any questions or anything just drop her an email and she'd be happy to help. She likes to keep her patients educated with all the treatments, drugs, etc. that they get. So really don't hesitate... [email protected] Oh and yeah he's gonna wake up with one of those machines flexing his knee. Helps keep everything working right and speeds up the healing process by making the knee act like a pump to squish all the surgery goo out of a drain that'll be coming out of his thigh. Incidentally you might try to get the catch basin that it drains into. Makes a gnarly jungle juice!
  12. False advertising blows... (...and so does she) And some more: (Adult content) link 1 link 2 link 3
  13. Where's the VTEC sticker going?
  14. Brooke is redoing the roostfest website which is why it ain't around anymore. I think walt left at about the perfect time - the HQ had only circled the shitter once.

    wtb fmf fattys

I've got some older style FMF's. Dunno if you'd be interested in em. Pipes only but they'll fit any of the current FMF silencers.
  16. The extra vents on the A/S are so that you don't run out of fuel when you're hucking backflips.
  17. Both times I've tried to stay in the washes I ended up turning into a snot factory. The most recent time I was definately sick, but the dust or something over there definately added to it. I dunno man, I'd rather face the traffic then the hell of my allergies. Besides I've got that new telescope I wanna toy with and it doesn't work too well when you've got a bunch of camps all around ya and it especially doesn't like dust! If nobody else from my camp is there I'm thinking I might move 1/4 mile down gecko. That way I should be out of the way of the sand highway traffic.
  18. Um...got pics to back that up Handyman?
  19. TCS kicks ass! Probably has alot to do with their customer service as well as a product that alot of people, myself included, consider better than Elka. I just had Todd do my forks on my CR as well. It'll be interesting to see where Shane's shock ranks.
  20. Its probably an Electrex. RMATV sells em as well: Electrex "250w" Stator My understanding is that they don't do real world testing. Essentially it makes 250w, but only on a bench.
  21. I'll be there late Thursday night camped out in the sand off Gecko and the 78 - straight out 300 yards from Sweet Maries. I've got a dark grey Nissan Titan pulling a white enclosed trailer. Stop by if you wanna go ride, I dunno yet how many will be there from my group. Most likely Justintoxicated will be there in his red Titan as well.
  22. There's nothing out there yet that ain't gonna wear off on the teeth. I've had mine pc'd for almost 2 years now, and just the teeth are showing metal - but no rust cuz of constant use.
  23. Personally, I tend not to go during the summer months because I have other hobbies that are better suited for summertime. I'm sure alot of people on here are the same way. Why sweat your balls off in the desert when you could be out surfing or something?
  24. Dammit Justin you beat me. Jennifer forwarded me the email about us getting slipped into the pre-order list (nice!). Hopefully that works out. Looks good man.
  25. Sounds like a banshee is the quad for you then. I've noticed that nobody has listed the negatives to the banshee so I'll do it. The stock suspension is REALLY bad. We're talking cheap dealer stuff from the late 80's bad. You can fix this of course but its gonna cost quite a bit of money. Just make sure you get an A-arm banshee and not one of the old (87-91 i think) j-arm ones. There's also some slight differences in the older brakes, bearing carrier, and sprocket hub. When it comes to the suspension, your still gonna have limits as to how much you can improve it. If you think that you might wanna ride MX at some point, you're better off with a 250r. The Shee has poor frame geometry that causes problems once you start trying to go long travel. But for a super fun and fast ride the banshee is king. Also something that might be considered a negative is that most engine related stuff is twice as expensive as other bikes due to the dual cylinder setup.
