  1. Axis only makes a single rate for the banshee rear
  2. ECATV is selling a used rear Axis on ebay right now. I was gonna bid on it but then I saw its only comp. adjustable. Called axis up and its gonna be like $500+ to respring/revalve for my weight/swingarm and swap it over to dual adj. I can get a rear axis dual adj. for $710 brand new so that rules that out. Here's the Link!
  3. Post whore!
  4. Selling my stock axle on ebay. Splines are good, axle is straight. Came off a running bike, just replaced it w/ an axcaliber. $40 starting bid, BIN for $80. LINK
  5. TCS is $450...not sure what Elka charges.
  6. No worries Geoff...good luck finding that perfect shee
  7. v forces
  8. Advancing the timing always seems to make it run leaner. I have no idea why actually but that's just what I've noticed. What's your elevation? If its sea level then I wouldn't do more than 2 degrees advance.
  9. Haha...he's prolly got an LSR titanium w/ 250r geometry being made as we speak!
  10. Follow your tie rods in to where they connect to the steering stem. There's a bearing there and the frame has a 3/8" tab welded on towards the front of the bike. The stem has 2 "ears" that stick out and hit this tab when you turn too sharp. Your tab is either bent to shit or worn down. If its bent, get a chunk of 3/4 steel pipe and a BFH. Slide the pipe in from the front near the bumper until it rests on that tab. Then beat the shit outta the pipe w/ the BFH to bend the tab back in place. Re-weld it back in place. Might be a good idea to gusset it as well.
  11. I've been here a dozen times dtm... It amazed me at first how people seem to always feel that more=better when it comes to paddles. I've gotten pretty animated trying to get my point across. Now I just shake my head.
  12. Still though, you can use a front TCS w/ any brand of arm as long as it isn't LT. Same w/ Axis, Works, Elka... Actually I take that back, occassionally you see arms that were designed around a remote ressy and they bump piggybacks. Other than that, there might be a c-hair of performance loss, but not anything that most riders would notice.
  13. I've gotten about 5-6 feet of air on my blue labels. Rims were fine, nuts were not.
  14. All shocks are gonna be the same length unless you go with a 19" long travel. The difference is in the spring and the valving. That's how shock companies setup shocks for stock arms, +2 arms, 100lbs riders, 250lbs riders, etc...
  15. Wait...how much do you weigh? How long is ur swingarm? Is the sand there really dry?
  16. I agree w/ the sane people of this thread. Waste o' money on stock jugs/gas! Here's a mod that will flow at least as good as the pingel and its almost free: Get urself 3 feet of tygon tubing - 1/4" Slip one end onto your fuel cap vent nipple Slip the other end into your helmet Place tube into mouth When you really get on the gas, BLOW HARD!
  17. Definately good to hear Tx! I'm just rating based on what I've had the chance to try out. I have heard alot of good things about Pep and Ohlins. I guess the yfz shock swap makes sense if you have no money to spend but want an upgrade. But yeah...they're like trying to polish a turd.
  18. If I remember correctly, you need to measure (in mm) from bolt center to center across the middle of the wheel.
  19. Here's kinda a run-down on some popular suspension brands in order of ride quality (some might argue w/ me on these) 0-10 scale. Stock - 0 YFZ's - 2 works - 3 elka - 6 tcs - 8.5 axis - 10 There's others out there but those are some of the more common ones. Works has a new line out that I haven't had the chance to ride yet but I'd imagine they'd fall either just above or just below elkas. The 450 shocks are still gonna be shittier than even some cheap-o works.
  20. Ah my bad...when he said 6.550 I was thinking he went big bore. That decimal point just cost you 19cc's!
  21. Nope, no more boost bottle (as if that was the only reason to ditch that turd bomb). benefits are better low end, better throttle response, easier jetting, easier to diagnose engine problems, cleaner engine compartment, less mainenance, no more sync'ing... Draw backs are slightly less top end. Trinity makes one. Personally I prefer the old Graydon ones, but they went out of biz. You can still find them on ebay tho or do what I did and make ur own.
