  1. If you're using it mostly for drag then yes, keep the duals. Any other use, the single is the better way to go.
  2. Is having illegals really messing this country up that bad?
  3. I'll see if I can find a picture online. If not I'll snap one of mine tonight. Basically its a better design. The longer style should give you a better mixture as well as help out the top end a little.
  4. If its a 2005 it'll have a rear brake light. Not just the tail light, there will be a little spring/wire coming off the rear brake pedal going to a little cylinder. Also if it was an 89 it would have had the old style spindles, old bearing carrier, j arms, the old rounded out type of seat...
  5. I was thinking in focus and maybe some closeups on the welds, joints, that sort of thing.
  6. How bout some pics?
  7. I made my own temp gauge for $10.
  8. I never bother to pull my caps. Just lube the cable and see if that helps.
  9. MADDOX!!!! Nice rook! Rippen - shit man that's better than my usual fair. What was the first?
  10. Anybody else getting bored with this thread yet?
  11. Trail riding on drag pipes blows donkey dick. I think your original list sounded pretty good for an all-around bike. You don't NEED a single carb, but they are definately nice to have.
  12. I'm thinking he means a TORS removal kit? Regardless, the single carb is one of the better mods I've done IMO.
  13. PWK is just the name of the carb. Its made by Keihin.
  14. Yeah I'd say that you should notice a 40% power increase over what you have now. Give or take.
  15. Most single carb users on this forum run 33 or 35 pwk's which comes in handy when you're trying to dial in your jetting. The single carb is a great mod for anybody except draggers. The amount of top end you lose is negligible but most shee owners freak at the thought of doing a mod to SACRIFICE any top end. If it were me, I'd look do the pipes first, and then instead of changing the air filter to one you'll just be replacing, do the single carb then. The stock air filter setup is crap so that needs to be tossed ASAP. Next to pipes, porting is the most bang for your buck. If you go from a stock shee to a piped/ported one running a single carb ur gonna kill yourself. Best to do mods in steps. Also, have you given any thought to suspension?
  16. Agreed! Up until a week ago I had a stock swinger on my 4mm stroker! I love that everybody thinks I'm suicidal cuz of a stupid twist!
  17. Are you sure its on both cylinders? Do you still have TORS?
  18. If you do its really negligible. Well actually I'd say it depends on what you had before. I did my 2:1 originally when I did a bunch of other mods so I can't really compare to stock. On my stroker, I felt like I lost a bit on top but it wasn't anything I'll miss. The benefits of the single carb are definately worth that tiny bit of top end.
  19. I'm the same way. Gloves never last me more than a couple months so I've always got a couple pairs laying around. Half the time I buy a new pair just cuz I misplaced my current pair. I've never really noticed any "performance" differences.
  20. 2 into 1 is a good mod for everybody except draggers. Yup, I said it. Trinity has the only manifold I know of on the market, and its okay. I'd second the graydon style intake. Better design IMO. Graydon went out of business awhile back but you still see their parts pop up on ebay or the HQ 4sale section fairly often. I made my own graydon out of 1.5" aluminum tube and 1/4" aluminum plate. With regards to carb size, the general rule of thumb is 33 for non ported or 35 for ported. Kinda goes along the same lines of T5 vs T6 pipes. Why get one that won't work well for future mods when the other will work fine now and down the road?
  21. Best way I've found to describe it is learning how to ride with stiff wrists (I just woke up or I'd throw in a good "limp wrist" joke here). When you hit a bump if your wrist changes position at all its gonna translate to the throttle. So you lock your wrist and use your whole arm for throttle control. Okay yeah, that's still a shitty description...
  22. Yeah they're not for everybody. You've gotta learn how to ride w/ a twisty and unfortunately, mistakes tend to be painful. I grew up riding dirt bikes so when I jump on a quad w/ a thumb throttle I'm like, "WTF is this shit?"
  23. Also what kind of material are you using? Mild? 4130? Roundtube? Rectangle?
  24. Nice Polish! What was the fix? csrmel - No it doesn't have one, but I suppose you could find a way to put one in. Out here in SoCal the coldest I can get my shee is about 150, which is about 5 degrees cooler than the optimum temperature. Might be more of an issue for the folks here living in the arctic circle.
  25. csrmel... On one hand I agree with you. There is entirely too much drama around this place. That said, I generally don't even read the threads where this kinda thing is going on. But every once in awhile, its interesting for a change of pace. Once you've been around the HQ awhile, you pretty much know all you need to know about the banshee. After that, you end up just helping out others - which hey, I'm more than happy to do. But even I get burnt out on explaining the reasons why not to run a boost bottle for the 50th time, so I crash this thread and whoop some ass for awhile. This particular thread I feel has outlived its usefullness and should prolly' be closed. We had our fun, and Enforcer's ass needs time to heal.
