i'm looking for some practice parts needing stock OEM cylinders and i dont care if they are even cut in half! i need the sides to be intact. i need to practice welding up the sides of transfers and the bost port areas also looking for top case halves or complete cases they can have MAJOR damage i dont care i want to practice welding up the tops of them where the cylinder goes and possibly the area in the webbings. of course i'm not looking to spend NEW prices on them i'll cover shipping and a lil for salvage costs. THANKS!!

are you the asshole that took his silencers off and then paraded around the pits annoying the shit out of everyone around?? if you want drag pipes BUY drag pipes.

i'd also say NO on the hinson std billet basket. the 485 properly set up will blow the backing plate clean off a hinson. the cusions are too squisshy and the bolts that hold the backing plate on are to small plus the backing plate itself is way to weak of a material. get a basket with 5/16 OR 8mm bolts and a cromoly OR tool steel OR stock modded backing plate. the matton is an excellent choice and its budget friendly.!

thats weird now i would imagine that peoples idears on a trans that works may differ i mean it shifts great at least how a stock trans shifts well how is that? cause the stock banshee trans's i have been around after about 2-3 passes start misshifting like dog shit. the false neutral, flat out wont shift, or hop a shift what i have found with the trans that i do is i replace EVERYTHING for the shifter that is NEW shaft, spring, alignment pin bla bla everything thats PART of the shifter. the stock modded trans WONT shift IF you let OFF the throttle sometimes times on full throttle runs without the clutch. most people thought thats how they had to do it they also WONT shift full throttle high rpm IF you DONT use the clutch now i mean you dont have to pull the clutch all the way in and count to 20 just a quick blip just enough to take the load off the dogs and they go right to the next gear. my trail bike is an honest 85+hp and wit the stock modded trans it ALWAYS shifts i can hold the throttle wide open through all gears. ( but damn its hard to to as its trying to throw mee right off the back stock length swingarm geo) i dont know how other people do them or how other places explain how to use it.. so i dont know. NO you wont HAVE to have an override on a 485 with a properly modded trans it will shift very nice. now on a stock trans even a brand new all oem never been in a bike trans it would false neu, and missshift after about 2-3 full throttle drag runs or after it got a lil hot. even with very nice high dolla oils. i personally recomend a stock modded trans in pretty much ANY build that requires you to split the cases. build it right the first time unless you like being pissed or that guy floping over the handle bars cause your bike went into a false neutral.

hell yea 10 mill serv!!
-
because people usually have a bad setup and run out of fuel or run lean after the carbs get low on fuel and were poping engines they related it to the hotneess of the plugs i have ran b8eix plugs on alky bikes with no problems but i also have plenty of fuel capacity and fuel flow. also i believe that the colder plugs can help keep a motor from poping iof its ran on the ragged edge. but i dont know..

its a redicouls exspensive set up.
-
why would you want to? i'd also say that you can easily sell the carbs and buy gas ones.

2011 BansheeHQ Ride - Little Sahara, OK

i have a large drag but nobody seems to ever want to pull it around. i have suspension on my bikes so a lil rut and braking bumps dont scare me at all. hell been bouncing through them for a long time now. the track CAN be fun if its run after run. a few years ago now we ran a bbq/track/dyno open house at gigots place in garden city that was a fun time there was a small test track with lights that was used adn we just ran and ran and ran. and that day was a blast. it pretty much never stopped till it got darrk due to lack of lights. now that experience was a good time. most track races i have been to except for TNT were long drawn out and boring. some people like that and my body is still good enough to run the dunes and i am not old enough to need a jockey either. BUT i would be game for a track day! IF it was run like tnt or the duke'em out at gigots -
damn dirtbikers!! paint it any color you want just dont put other atv manufacturer's stickers on it you might confuse your friends "when did kawasaki actually come out with their own bike?" sorry banshee hq is full of honest assholes! if your shits gay its gay!

i'd be down for a bansheehq only track day BUT being i'm a diehard dune racer and have never even sat on a bike with a bar and ridgid track only frame you'd better believe i'll be on the dunes where you better have your springer shorts on!! if the track day starts turning into the same ole bullshit that tracks are famous for i'm out. long lines 2 bikes run and nobody else gets a chance to race, guys waiting for their motors to "cool down" after one run ( and somehow that takes 2 hours?) and sitting around all day after spending 100+ bucks to race 2 runs naw,. i run my shit till they break or i fall off. and 250 class rules bitches!! -
any motorcycle specific oil will work dont run automotive oils in it at all. you DEFF need to replace the clutch. its slipping on top due to lack of holding power the stock springs wear out and the clutch is crap in them oem.

the serv may have low port timings BUT it has massive port flow it can move more air/ fuel in less degree's of rotation. and the older style of pipes are just not used to that i t was explained in detail on atvdragracers by a well know builder/ dyno proven results. after reading the explanation it is obvious why the ole trail pipe dont work well. the serv may have low port timings but its a differnt animal and is going to want a diff pipe, head combo than a stock cylinder motor. ( just like a cub) just cause it fits don't mean it works,,, what works on stockers isnt going to work ( optimal) on this cylinder. at least from what i see. now if your happy with a 65hp replacement cylinder with all your parts you have now its doable. but the easy 80hp they are capable of is right there. and they will be rideable with any set up. they are not a DRAG cylinder i see them as a nice option for replaceing heavy ported stockers that are over on bore or need sleeved. OR a good idear instead of porting stockers. IF you are going to go stroker and big bore. rember dirtbike cylinders for a LONG time have had big pipes, BIG carbs 38mm is norm on a 125cc! and they also have a huge port flow cylinder. ( and pv's)

send me an email and i'll take some pics of them i have tried posting pics to this site and i have problems everytime. i cannot get them resized coretelly with my camera being as large a MP -
i've been wondering about this set up on a drag chassis same therory but lightweight componets i rode a 250r long long time ago with this style of front end. few years ago there were 250r's full lagerchassis's with t-pin selling for 4000 running. it made me sick. most of them got bought and parted by salvage yards they weren't the "cool 4 strokes"

to me that trans mod is an absolute must do. and your right its better to do it all now even if you have to wait i tried to "dune" my 485 on alky and it was an absolute handfull i ended up taking the motor out and going full drag with it. in the dunes i ran a 1/ 2-5 duneable it was fun but very hard to control at times. a billet basket is a must also i highly recomend the mattoon basket if your pocket book will allow a hinson billet w straights works excellent or straights and the matton is a good second choice also TZ bearings ont he crank are a good idear that would be a nearly bullet proof bottom end.

rear seems set up for stock length fronts are for + a-arms. they are on a bike i bought. bike has been sitting for a while. -
dont forget that you will need longrod pistons

485 is a beast you will absolutely need a modded trans and NO not a shift mod or bearings on the shaft or bla bla bla you will need the gears cut and a shift star and shift shaft mod done after that it will shift like a dream,. an override is great for drag racing but these mods done to the stock trans are for all the rest of us. a lockup is a decent idear but not really really needed if you dont mind a stiff clutch hand a better clutch would be needed. i personally like the driveline perf. HD clutch on sleezebay. the springs are stiff as hell but you might be able to stagger them with 15%'s and be ok. a lockup wont hold your clutch at lower rpm's so a locker with stock springs dosent work in the trails and normal riding. unless you ride around at 8000 rpm to 10,500 all the time.. i do this mod HJR does it adn WCR offers them also i believe wcr's is a micropolished trans also a lot of guild builders know about this style of trans. they work very well i believe they should be part of a complete engine package.

I AM CAMPSITE DRAMA!! i'd LOVE to see a stock cylinder shootout!! -
41mm lectrons.. i like a dyna, nology, stock lightened flywheel and STOCK stator. you need to run resistor plugs in it also for the digital ignition. i also had problems sometimes mounting the dyna close to the coil but only on one particular bike?

i dont know why but that black bike looks badd ass to me!!
