In WV it is legal to ride on the street, I forget what the speed limit is, like 15mph or something like that, and no interstate roads or 4 lane highways I believe. I go down to Hatfield-McCoy every year and its great to be able to ride your quad into town and get something to eat and such. They dont care down there, they welcome it. If it wasnt for the trail system their'd be pretty much nothing there. My shee turns on a dime when I have 20" tires on it, when I put 22"s on it, it'll barely be able to be turned around on a two lane road. It's all how you have it set up. Not to mention that it has enough power now to spin the tires around on pavement without a problem anymore. The one guy on here from Germany I believe has a real nice street setup going. I liked how it looked. Up near my buddy its hicktown, USA. Only cops to come around are state troopers....and they gave up chasing us years ago. We respect the area and besides a little noise of us going by....theres not much more to complain about. Hell some of the trucks are twice as loud. We hit the streets all the time, some of them paved, some dirt roads, and we try to stay off the main traveled roads. If you've got everything set up well you can haul ass rather safely on a shee, I can be pinned in 6th for miles and not have any worries. You just dont want to go around sharp corners fast with knobbies on, the tires tend to roll over, and your quad will want to drift, which can be scary and devastating if you try overcorrecting, or fighting it. You just gotta be aware of whats going on around you, and be aware of safe limits of your riding.

I agree, 28's taperbored to 30's for mx/trail type riding with a mild port. Nothing more, nothing less
-
couldnt you put it in gear and hold the rear brake down?

I like where I live and dont mind the cold. It's all the rain that sucks that keeps me from riding. If it snows to much to ride in the fields....just take it to the streets. I'm an 30-45 minutes from philly, an hour or 2 to the mountains, 2 hours to the beach, 2 hours to New York, 3 hours to Washington D.C., and you can shoot down to North Carolina in 7-8 hours if you want. Up or down the coast is a straight shot. The thing I cant stand is that 90 degrees with 90% humidity that makes you sweat your balls off just standing still.

head and cylinders to 20 ft lbs. You're not gonna be able to get a torque wrench on 2 of the cylinder bolts I believe so feel how much pull you have on the other ones with the torque wrench and then just use a wrench and give it about the same pull. You wanna do it in 3 increments 10, 15, and then 20. With the reedcages just tighten down good in a criss cross pattern, I'm sure there's a torque specification for them, but I've never used it.

alright, its 1:30 and I just got home, so give me a hollar if you still need the cable.
-
I have a Tors removal kit thats got a throttle cable in it. Worst case scenario you could drive up here and grab it off me as long as you promise to get me a new one when you get back, or reimburse me for another one.

I've seen that shee in dirtwheels, it is a pretty cool set of plastics. It isnt painted like those cheap ass camo pants, but more of a streaked black and white.
-
dude, you can probably get a new set from the dealership for like 30 bucks or so, I know the tank plastics are 10 a side, and the rad might be another 15-20?
-
That's alright, go ask them what the price is for the tank side plastics of a regular banshee are, then ask them what the price is for the 2004 LE tank plastic. Put it this way.....the shit must be real carbon fiber
-
Maybe we can have an EX/Banshee get together ride
-
I cut mine off the first time I went snow riding at night and went to clear the lenses off and couldnt because of that stupid ass grille holding all the ice. I dont see those plastic grilles doing much of anything from a rock being kicked up from someone in front of you.

Janets Breast Fell Out 1/2 Time Show
. replied to sweetshee4312's topic in General Banshee Discussion
on a side note....thats a really cool nipple ring -
If I ever break these Grade8's I'll have to look into it, the ones I was breaking were the regular old bolts out of sears hardware. I've broke my skidplate till it was hanging by one bolt twice, and went to the grade 8's and its been good so far.

ha....thats pretty funny, you said toomey and midrange pipe in the same sentence
-
That is the funniest picture I've seen in a long time Nyuk......and you wonder why I come to pick up my parts in person.

When you press down on your grab bar how fast does it come back up? It shouldnt come up to fast, or to slow. I try to bring my front end up over gaps in whoops and my rear end soaks them up pretty well. I have the stock rear axle on mine so when I get into whoops real quick my back end tends to fish tail buck around. I'm thinking that your rear shock isnt adjusted right. You want it to be able to compress quickly to soak up a bump, but you dont want it to pop back real quick because it'll make the back end bounce, nor to slow because then it will stay compressed and do much of the same thing. I've got a works setup rear and it does rather well through the rough stuff. I'd say go find some whoops and rip through them, adjust it, and then rip through them again until you find something that makes you happy.

only negative I had to say about prm that I forgot to add is that the bolts they sent me werent grade 8 and werent long enough. So I got some regular grade longer bolts (only 2 werent long enough) and hit a couple rocks and broke the bolts. So yeah, I ride some rough stuff, enough to break my regular grade bolts. Got some Grade 8's in there now and they still have held up.

Who cares anymore, My Eagles lost.....I'm just in it for the commercials, and alcohol
-
has anyone seen the quad?.....Take everything off it thats worth keeping, if you have any stock parts, put them back on.
-
My rims are actually in pretty good shape, usually if I hit something it'll just bend in the lip a little bit and you can beat it back with a hammer. Rolled edge .190's usually hold up pretty good around here, I try to avoid hitting rocks with my tires hence why the skidplate gets so banged up.

I ride trails sometimes that I've put holes in 6ply tires. When your in 5th gear ripping up this old logging trail thats full of jagged, big rocks more than dirt......you tend to hit a few of them. The place is called Tower City. Another place that is even worse than tower city in some of its climbs is the Hatfield-McCoy trails. I've hit climbs that have bounced me around so much that I couldnt hold my line anymore and had to stop because I'd get bounced sideways, or get the front end popped up, or was just hairy enough that I thought I'd roll it. And end up with all my weight over one of the tires on my quad to keep it from rolling. Some crazy ass shit......not to mention that a glacier from a long long time ago deposited rocks when it receded, some of them monstrous, and some of them are just sticking out the ground a little, and they dont move when you hit them. We have boulder fields in a couple places around here.

It wont happen until the weather clears, I'd say late spring when the nights are coming in around 60 degrees and the days are in the 70's-80's. Depends how the rainy season goes and so forth. How many weeks notice do you guys need to have a weekend go at something like this? I'd like to have a rain date setup go on that if it looks like its gonna definitely rain all weekend we could push it off until the next weekend

I used to have a dg skidplate and I wish I took pictures of it before I threw it in the trash.....thing was beat to hell and couldnt take a hit. I bought PRM everything after that and I've beaten the hell out of the swingarm plate and it only has one little bend in it from when I cracked a rock really hard. Only thing that was good about the DG is that when I bent it up against my brake rotor, or sprocket, I could get in there and pry it away....until I hit something else. The PRM one I think if I ever did bend it up into something I dont know if I could bend it back. I feel a lot more safe with the PRM, I'm not afraid to hit stuff with it, while with the DG I was still trying to avoid stuff so I wouldnt bend it up into something. Long story short I was riding 2 miles of whoops along a train track and only after my shee started losing power because of how hot it was did I realize the plate was up against my brake rotor. Only negative of the PRM is that it makes ground clearance a lot lower on the back (its already real low with 20" tires)

The best present you could ever buy him is an anti-vibe steering stem. It will lower his fatigue dramatically. My buddy has one on his 400ex and you can rip through stuff and the handlebars just seem to kind of float. I want to get one for my banshee one of these mods.
