Ported Cylinders Are On They Way....!
SyNtAxx replied to SyNtAxx's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Hey guys, I would suggest you call Jim at passion and speak with him. He is a great guy and very knowlegeable. I wont post his pricing tho, all i can say is I was very happy with his price and didnt even bother looking for another shops price... packed mine up and sent out the same day! I basically got an MX port...I wanted to keep the jugs usable for the stroker I want to build next year..therefore he couldnt get to radical on the grinding. But he said If i decide not to stroke I can send them back and he can extract more power for me. Right now he estimates with my mods(in signature) and his port work I should be mid 60hp range. So we will see...regardless my ninja porting will smoke my friends..cuz none of them know I had it done He ported and bored and supplied the standard wesico pistons for the topend. Call him...I dont thin you will be dissapointed! Nick -
Hey all, Jim from Passion Racing has boxed up and sent out my ported juggies I cant wait to spank my friends. He ported and still kept my hugs usable for a stroker in the future ! What more can you ask for.... I am so anxious to try them out.....I hear the power increase is liek night and day... Any suggestions for my new top end? Nick

Well, I read what you said...and as i posted originally... I had the same problem...I told you what fixed it. So I did understand your problem the first time i read it. I didnt need to read it 10x to understand it. I replaced coils....and cdi's and what not. Nothing fixed it until I replaced my stator (which tested perfect) so take it for whats it worth..... You can act on it or not.... There really isnt anything to go bad except the Coil, CDI or stator.. Check your key switch connections and or kill switch if you use either of those. CDI i doubt it because it is a solid state electronic device...unless it wasnt secured and vibrated to death. I dont really think its the coil either... Check for any bare wires that may be shorting out.. It may be a good idea to clean all connections and use some Dielectric grease on the connections to keep the water out.. P.S. Tag your it later, Nick

Hey, Read this dickhead...... How can a stator be bad when I tested it and it was with in spec? Mine tested fine and it was still no good. If you think you know it all or cant take suggestion then dont ask for help. Nick

Hey all, I had a VERY similar problem. I checked everything, reeds, carbs, jets, coil cdi,and stator. i used a mutil-meter on all the parts that i could get a reading from and they were all in spec. HOWEVER...it turned out to be my stator and here is what happend...while it was cold it would run perfect until the engine warmed up and thus the stator....once the stator warmed and expanded one of the green wires on there would expand with it thus causing a short and the popping and cutting in and out.....the epoxy that holds some of the wires down get brittle with time and cuases shorts in the current... I replaced my stator with a brand new 200 watt job and problem was immediatly solved.... Just my experience..... Nick

Hey all, I am doing my first rebuild on my banshizzle... I have a shaved head (.027).. I was wondering who makes the best pistons ( I know this has been debated, but just give your opinion and reason why you think that) for this application (shaved head) and stuff. I am a rebuild newbie... So i am relying on your guiding lite Nick

Hey all, I just tore my engine apart for the first time...putting on new topend for sure... was considering a +4 stroke if my stock crankshaft is shot. How do I tell for sure if i need a new crank shaft. If my stock shaft is still good...should I port it and what type of port?? I ride hillclimbs and trail/woods. If I port and decide to get a stroker later...will they be able to make my porting work for the stroker or will i need new jugs and have to start form scratch ? Thanks for you help, Nick
