  1. Have wanted to try gearing down for the dunes so I put a 13 tooth sprocket up front like alot of guys I know. Now I can't adjust the stock chain enough to get all the slack out of it. The bike is an 03 and only has about 8 or 9 rides total so I wouldn't think that the chain has stretched too much. Any suggestions as to what's going on here. thanks jstew
  2. First of all what is stock gearing? I have a problem pulling sixth gear in the sand. I have basic bolt on stuff pipes, filter, head. Anyways, would a front sprocket swap help me out? I mainly just drag against buddies. Oh yeah, I'll be adding a timing plate and vforce reeds before the trip this year. Will that be enough to make the difference over last year? Later
  3. What is the advantage to lightening your flywheel? Does it really make a difference in hp? Does it do anything to engine longevity? How much should it cost to get the flywheel lightened and balance? Later, stew
  4. Where is the cheapest place to get a set of Vforce Delta 2's? Do the gaskets come with them or will I have to get a set seperately?
  5. A buddy of mine has an 01 craptor. Last year at the dunes I would spank him dragging. We're planning a trip in March to the dunes and he has since added a pipe and K&N to his otherwise stock craptor. My question is will he now have enough to beat me. My shee has PC pipes, K&N, and coolhead with 20cc domes. I'm planning on adding a timing plate and reeds before we go. The only other advantage he has over me is his weight. He weighs 135 lbs. and is 25 yrs. old. I on the other hand weigh 210. What do you guys think? Have I got enough to still kick him? His is the only craptor I've been around so I don't know what they are capable of.
  6. When do you have to start running straight race gas in regards to timing and compression. For instance, I want to run a 4 degree advance in timing and say I have a 170 psi for each cylinder. Do I need to run straight race gas? I know timing has an effect on detonation, but how much? Is there a general rule of thumb between how much timing and compression, before you need to switch over. Thanks, jstew
  7. Help! I need to know what my next mods should be. My shee has PC pipes, K&N, and a Noss Head w/19cc domes. My current goal is strictly power. I was thinking about maybe an adjustable timing plate and reeds. I'm looking at spending around $600 so let me know what my options are. Later, jstew
  8. My shee has recently started puffing white smoke. This indicates to me that maybe it's burning antifreeze. I have installed a cool head, but it's been on for six or seven months now without problems. Are the orings susceptible to cracking and bypassing antifreeze. The shee has been sitting for a couple of months now and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. I've heard of oil and gas seperation. I'm running 50/50 race with Castor. Do the plugs look a certain way if it's burning antifreeze? I'm just looking for someone to get me going in the right direction. Roost On! jstew
