i have been running them for awhile. I did have in vitoes then bored it out to freshen it up. They are a cast piston that is the same as stock but shorter and have bigger intake skirt holes. They seem to be a good piston but might not take the revs like the wiseco. the price is cheaper because they are cast and not forged. Adam

I didn't see a post on this. What side of the coolant line is best to use for your temp gauge.(return to radiator or return to motor) I went to hardware store and auto store and bought my own stuff for it. Thanks for your help. I thought it should be after it leaves motor,would that be correctAdam

is anyone running mikuni28 flats. how far did you have to jet up compared to stock and what altitude are you at. I ran 290s in my stock carbs. now running racelogic porting and the carbs. Thanks for your help Adam

I agree with chris I had one retard itself. It would start hard then when you did get started it would backfire. the best way to check is swap or rule every other thing out with a multimeter. believe it or not if a coil gets warm and it is bad. it will lose continuity and die also. Adam

i was wondering. Anyone know if vitos power pistons are close to stage 3 porting? Is it a waste of time to do both? I know the intake holes are changed on the pistons. but with the porting both exhaust and intake would be change. if pistons add 5 hp will the porting only add a few more hp. Just curious to see what people think on here. Is the port timing changed on the pistons or just the size of the boost ports.

must be the rider.I use to ride hondas and my brother had a piped 400ex and he couldn't beat my worn out tecate 4 with origanal piston and rings in it.I hit 5th gear it was over.

you know what is funny i am hard to please . I have owned a 300ex to damn slow 400ex just dosn't cut it,went to a 440 1 trx 250r excellant but power isn't their unless big checkbook atc 250r 2 atc 200x 2 atc 350x atc big bore 350x all they did was hone my riding skills 1987,1986 250 quadracer 1987 tecate beat the sack off me ,put in a 330r kit still 1987 warrior 420 big bore,not bad but no banshee almost a quadzilla till i read the articals in here 1987 banshee i built from the ground up was going to buy a new 450r but i would rather have another banshee for sand mine works well for all around right now,white knuckle ride in the bush

Well i went to school to support my hobbie. I bought this quad and took out extra money to built it right away. so i i ride mostly woods, soon to be a duner so i set it up this way pc pipes vitos power pistons racelogic porting i case matched it to cylinders ported the reed cages 28 mikuni flats shaved the head to 145lbs comp boost bottle tdr reeds modified shift star polished the domes matched transfers ports the sound is so awesome,what the hell was i thinking for the last 10 years.Riding that other stuff go figure i haven't rode the dunes yet but can't wait Adam :

ya wanted to be different. I should have been tared and feather if i wanted to be different,or maybe shave off an eyebrow I also just wrote to dirt wheels to piss people off, It worked I was called a knucke head among other things. Well I guess I deserved it I olso thought it would ride terrible. I was wrong about that too. It is a little stiff at slow speeds but then again why the hell would you ride it slow.

i wrote a artical 3 years ago in dirt wheels.Calling Banshees riders down for rippin on the 400ex.I have rode alot of atvs trying to beat banshees > I have hated banshees for years.I had a built up 400ex, A tecate 330,trying to beat them. Well now i own a banshee and i love it.I guess i will eat crow. Banshees rule! and i came to my sences.
