  1. Hey all, I just rode a buddies yfz450 last weekend....To be honest with you... It wasnt everything I read about. Dont get me wrong its a nice bike. But it isnt a banshee. i felt really cramped on the 450....thats prolly cuz its a motocross bike. The banshee feels like a old caddy...big and roomy... compared to the 450. Infact the 450 wasnt able to hang with me on the hills or the trails... i am by no means an expert rider nor was the 450 pilot. I was impressed with the 450s ability to keep on pulling till the very end. The 450 went up some hills chugging along in 2nd gear while my Shee screams in 3rd..... My money is on the FMF 400 Banshee. If the FMF banshee has had the proper port work to accompany the kit it would be my bet with out a doubt. Just my opinion... Nick

  3. Hey, It becuse those grass skirt wearing Mother Fu#%ers are idiots. Maybee they should take off the road all the cars prior to 1988 for example...and the Government should encourage the purchase of economical cars with subsidies like in Europe. in greece they actually pay for part of your car....if its time to be replaced. Maybee all the heavy equipment that builds our roads and stuff should have catalytic converters and have to run as clean as the new four wheelers do. Really..how many 4 wheelers are out there "polluting " the sky? Not nearly as many as the old as f*ck diesel backhoes puffing up clouds of black smoke. What about the jets cruising in the atmospere? Actually jets cause a great deal of pullution and wear away the protective UV layer of the atmosphere at an increased rate. How bout all the multi-billion dollar foundries and factories that dnt need to install "scrubbers" in their stacks till some time in the future when they were mandated back in teh 70's and early 80's. Its a Friggen racket.....bastard lawyers and politicians geting sucked off by the green tree lobbiests. It wont matter anyway soon.....we wont have any fuel to run our machines. P.S. Do you really think the technology doesnt exist to make a 100mpg car or cure for disease ? Its all out there...its all about the Almighty..$ Screw people every way they can.....sick or healty....2stroke or 4 stroke... The way I see the 4 strokes are polluting more.(cars) fix the major sources of problems first...then maybee worry about the miniscule amounts of atvs "polluting" Nick
  4. Hey all, i just had this problem this past weekend..... What my problem turned out to be was the electrical harness coming from the stator melted slightly onto my right side pipe stringer....thus is would short it self out and not fire properly....... Once i found this problem and taped it up...Presto good as new.... While this may not solve your problem......it fixed mine and you described my exact symptoms... Take a look and see what you find before you drop the cash bomb on non returnable electrical parts.... Nick

  6. hey all, Today is a good day.... I riding buddy of mine invited a friend who hasa yzf450 and is conming riding with us. We all have banshees. I hope the kid is cocky and thinks his hunk is going to "smoke " our shees. I will tell him line up fool: then my stealth ninja porting will do the rest ... Anyhow I am just excited.....   7. Hey, I was jetting my ported quad... I am at 360 on mains and 30 on pilots. i raised the needle to the 4th slot from the top(richer) anyhow now it seems liek it sputters on the mid section....untill the reeds open... then its a rocket ship.... I tried adjsutingmy carbs...no good. I even ran with out a airbox lid to see if it would fix it...nope... So you guys think I should jsut move the needle back to the stock location? (3rd notch?) My mods are lsited below and its about 50-70 degrees here now in Pa. and I ride at about 800-1800 feet. Nick

  16. hey all, I just got my new motor running....I am a little nervous about my jetting. i just dont want to mess up a new top end. My Mods are in my signature.... I am curently jetted at 30 on the pilot and 340 on the main jet. The temperature here in PA varies now from 30-65 degrees.... I havent found a place open enuff to wind her up in 6th gear to do a plug chop Do you guys think i am close? I went a size or two higher on the main jet then the porter mentioned just because I am obsesive Compulsive.... Thanks for all your help... Nick
  17. Hey all, Just thought I would drop a line and tell you how my port job came out. Jim at passion racing did it for me...and all I can say is WOW........I damn near shit my pants when the shee finally hooked up and started to pull and pull and pull... then a big tree came...... so i let off. It runs awsome...and its not even dailed in on the jetting yet... I love it..cant wait for his stroker P.s. His description of the powerband after his port work was rock solid..... Props to Passion Racing..... Nick....
  18. hey all, i went to the stealership today and they honed AND painted my jugs for Free........ maybe it was because I already spent 100 dollars in parts already...but non the less I will give them the benefit of the doubt....they did it for free.... Nick

  20. Hey, It seems to me that Non-Banshee owners seem to always have the answers.... I have a 95 that was on the stock top end...the only resaon it was bored was because I got it ported. Bottom line...just like anything else you abuse you lose..... Take care of it.....and you should get years of enjoyment. P.s. Think about it if you had to rebuild every 40 hours of riding...you would only be getting about 3.5 weeks of ride time per topend. Does that sound logical ? Tell your friend to get a 4croak and you ride the king of kings....The Banshee (/me bows with respect) Nick
  21. Hey all, I heard a few seperate people talking about a new banshee. Supposedly a 500cc twin powerplant. Is this the long awaited update to the banshee before the "outlaw of 2 strokes"? I am just curious if it is true or not? Anybody have any dealer connections to verify? Nick

  23. Sup guys, One of the cylinder bolts by the exhaust port snapped off flush with the case.... Now what do I do ? Bolt extractor ? Reverse drill bit ? I need some help please... My new ported cylinders are arriving Thurday and I was hoping tyo be able to use them How do I fix this problem Any help is greatly appreciated !! Nick
  24. Hey, Fatties are the shit I run the fatties and prefer them over the Tommey T5's. They respond well to porting and stroking also. I ride trail as i mentioned before. Nick
  25. Hey all, I am not sure I would swap out the duel carbs for a single carb setup. If i understand the concept correctly you will be swapping back to duel carbs if you do modify your engine in the future.... I ride 80% woods on my duel carb setup....with out a problem. It does take a lil bit of time to adjust properly but hey so does any other good thing. If it were me i would stay with 2 carbs..... just my opinion. If I am wrong guys please correct me... Nick
