Exactly what I was thinking. Doesn't appear to be widened or timing changed. EDIT: IMO, it looks like a 4-stroke porters work. LOL Not that its bad, but power comes from changing the things mentioned above, not from just cleanup work and air flow. 4-stroke porting is all about the airflow.

Quick question: What are the torque specs for the studs (bottom) and bolts (top) for a banshee case. I can't freakin remember, and I don't have my manual here. Also can't get the download manual sticky to work.

If you are smart enough to tune Lectrons, then you know that shit is bogus. LOL

Picked up a complete transmission from Jeff. Excellent price, every single little part in the picture was included, and he shipped it out the same day he recieved payment, including sending me a tracking number that day. Parts arrived and are in perfect condition and were packaged well. Thanks again ellison445!

Long rod, 795 series pistons, and SPACER PLATE is the only way to go. We tried several setups when the 4mil craze first started 6-7 years ago. That setup made the most power, and had the best power curves.

Yep. I have an '05 Raptor sitting here and they are the same. And also for future reference, many kawasaki hubs will fit which will give a 156 bolt pattern (same as 88-89 banshees). Also, a Honda 200x hub fits which will give a 110 Honda bolt pattern.

I have spent several hours in the past on the dyno testing reed spacers with 350 and 4mm motors. I tried at least 4-5 different thicknesses, and tried reed/cylinder, and intake/reed combinations. I found more power decreases than increases, and never saw a significant enough powerband shift to constitute the money and time spent. If you want to try them for yourself, I have a few sets still laying around here.

If you are needing some awesome flat track front shocks, I have a pair of AFCOs here. They need rebuilt, but I think AFCO does it very reasonably. I ran AFCOs when I was TT racing.

I have been off of this board for 4 years, and I see this is still a topic. LOL There have also been many debates on swapping plug wires.

I have a shortened stocker that I raced on a couple years ago before switching to a roundhouse -1. I might as well sell it if you are interested since I probably won't ever use it. Powdercoated yellow.

I fell in love with Engine Ice on my trail bike years ago. Tight slow woods riding that still required RPMs and tire spin would get the engine HOT. The engine ice as well as the impeller seemed to help. In the past year, I have been playing with Cannondales. They had issues with water based coolants causing corrosion. The C-dale guys recommend Evan's Coolant so I picked some up. Cheaper per gallon than EI and seems to work very well.

Thumb throttle cable for Lectrons...
jinx44 replied to THE358BANSH's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
First off, I hated the Terrycable I had on my 35 Mikunis. I will never own another terrycable throttle cable. I ran a Motion Pro prior to switching to Lectrons, and it wouldn't work. None of their "book" part numbers would. I bought my Lectrons from Richard's Recreation/HP Research, but it was the same cable that Packard has. -
Yes, when the choke is on, the right side pulls fuel from the left carb. That is why that little black tube goes between the carbs (you know, the tube everyone drops and forgets when they re-jet, then wonders why the bike runs like shit).

Everything straight on it? Shafts in good condition?

I am looking for a transmission. There are several on ebay, but I thought I would see if anyone on HQ wanted to move one. I would like one complete, stock, both input and output shafts, and in good condition. Removed dogs are okay, but no override type cuts. I may also need shift forks too. BTW, I have been a member here for years, and was a daily poster back then. I found new hobbies and sold all of the banshees. I am getting back into ATV riding, and just picked up a banshee with a busted trans this weekend. So if you haven't seen my name around, don't fret. I am not a tire kicking newbie.

TTT And since there has been no links or proof of the accusations that I rip people off, can someone please delete the bullshit from this thread? Thanks
-
Please provide links to any bad deals from other sites/forums. If not, could a mod please delete these posts from my thread so I can get some parts sold. If the complete bike doesn't sell this weekend, I will start pulling it apart next week. PM's have been replied to. I will start getting pictures of the parts next week also.

I have not ripped anyone off on parts. Please leave personal hearsay out of this. It has nothing to do with me selling parts.

It would not take much to change this into one hell of a duner bike. The shocks, A-arms, powerful engine, etc are alll there. Swap to a longer swingarm and you are done. The roundhouse carrier is there, so just the steel swingarm is all you need.
-
it needs to go. Ready to race with just new rear tires. $3500. If you are interested in any parts, make an offer. Engine $2000 Carbs $450 A-arms $300 Swingarm with roundhouse carrier $350 front shocks $250 Rear shocks $250 Dyna $100 Axle $125 kinda rusty Any other parts let me know.

I have a flat track banshee for sale. There are some cheap way to do it for am class. such as john deere gator rear shocks on the front. It is a lot of trial and error if you try to do it cheap. AFCO's are the best shocks, swingarm length depends on your weight, tires depend on the track etc. Give us a little more specifics and we can help you out.

The 250X was made in 87-88 and then again in 91-92. I have had a few. Including a big bore and a 410cc stroker that I built before playing with banshees. With a stock pipe (with the baffle still in) they aren't loud. All aftermarket pipes for them are loud though. i loved the custom supertrapp i had on the stroker. As for the hard to start, check your valve clearance.

As a street racer, I found the show to be very stupid on MANY levels. The host is a dumbass, spotting that much is unbelievable, etc. I watched the first show and that is it. You all might want to check out this thread from Chitown racing (one of the guys from the first show is on the chitown forum). Thread on Chitownracing.com Here are some quotes from the thread: There you have it. They taped the races 5-6 times. Loser can buy his car back cheap. Basically the whole show is bullshit.

The couple had been debating the purchase of a new auto for weeks. He wanted a new pickup truck. She wanted a fast little sports-like Saab car so she could zip through traffic around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of their price range. "Look!" she said. I want something that goes from 0 to 200 in 4 seconds or less. And my birthday is coming up. You could surprise me." For her birthday, he bought her a brand new bathroom scale.

Stressed out? I am not sure exactly how it works, but this is amazingly accurate. Read the full description before looking at the picture. The picture below has 2 identical dolphins in it. It was used in a case study on stress level at St. Mary's Hospital. Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are identical. A closely monitored, scientific study of a group revealed that in spite of the fact that the dolphins are identical, a person under stress would find differences in the two dolphins. If there are many differences found between both dolphins, it means that the person is experiencing a great amount of stress. Look at the photograph, and if you find more than one or two differences you may want to take a vacation. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
