  1. Could it be that there are grooves in the clutch basket? I don't know lock up clutches at all, so please excuse if that isn't a great reply. haha.
  2. This shit just doesn't roll. Damn. I always try make extra sure when buying stuff. I have have Vin and Engine nr's checked for stolen goods. You can never be too careful with stuff like that. It's just unacceptable that people can do stuff like that without a conscience(if that was the case - although evidence seems rather conclusive).
  3. Not sure at all. The came off a Suzi RG Gamma.
  4. No jokes, I was running 230 mains. Ran 280 mains in the stock Banshee carbs, put the 280's in the flat slides and the bike would splutter. Even on the dyno, it wouldn't hit the powerband ( would stop at 25hp odd ). We then fitted 260's ( going from the 280's), and still it wouldn't run into the power-band. The guys thought my cdi was shot, that it didn't advance, the one guy suggested pulling off the air-filter and giving it a run then, wham 59hp... Everyone was dumbstruck. The porting on the RD differs quite a bit from the Banshee, the inlets are smaller too. My elevation is 4500ft Somehow I think I was running 22.5 pilots.
  5. Think I found a nice 2006 to play with... Hold thumbs guys.
  6. I'm busy with exams for the next week, but after that, I'll be looking for a stocker or even one with aftermarket pipes, as long as I can get hold of stock pipes too...This could be fun!!!
  7. Looks like I've opened a can of worms with this post... Does anyone know hos the stuff inside the exhaust is kept there? Can it just be pulled out of is it spot-welded? Wont you be able to rip it out by sticking a wire through the exh opening?
  8. Hi Dudes I ran a RD350 motor (non-pv) in my banshee, 28mm Mikuni's, fmf gold series pipes that was pretty much that, I had heaps of bottom and mid, but power felt as if it dropped off very soon. I ended running 230 mains, it was still a tad rich, cant rem the pilots though, the rest I just played with the needle. Regards M
  9. I agree with the reeds theory. You may have one petal that isnt closing, it may even be broken. The balance tube will cause both carbs to overflow even if it's just the reeds in one cylinder. Could be anything I guess, but the reeds are easy enough to check.
  10. Guys... I like where this is going!!!!!!!!
  11. I think I know what my next project will be... The Ultimate sleeper... I spoke to some friends, we sort of came to the conclusion porting a shee with stock pipes, should put you in the ballpark of an unported piped shee, maybe a bit more, who knows. Doesn't sound like many have attempted porting a shee with stock pipes. I also though about shaving the stock head to get the comp up as much as I can and sort the squish gap too. Should have a nice linear power curve too.
  12. Hi Guys!! Something that I was wondering about, What would power gains be if you port a Banshee with a stock exh system? I know the stocker restricts the engine quite a bit. If you could squeeze a few HP out of it, and still retain the stock look, it could be a pretty nice sleeper. What do you guys rate one could expect in gains???
  13. Hmm, I'l mention these things to him. Head and domes are Pro design, brand new. Thanks guys.
