My biggest misake with my banshee was riding it in the cold weather and blowing the engine. 1000 bucks later after putting a wiseco crankshaft in it and a new topend and other bs Shee ripps

If your talking about the fiberglass silencer packing then yes it is necesary. If you take it out then it will lose the backpressure and your engine won't run right. Im not positive how the backpressure deal works but i know that you need it.

Get a ding king

I want to ride one so bad. I havent ever ridden a high performance 4 stroke besides the 400 ex if you consider that high performance and the scrambler 500 X. I cant imagine anything being faster then the banshee though. Besides maybe a quadzilla 500.

I just hope that for the last year they do something special for it. Maybe some redesigned plastic would be cool and even some chassis mods to help it handle better. Tree huggers suck what are you gonna do though.

I started riding my shee @ 15. My first quad was a 250 trailblazer. I think the shee is a great starting quad you just have to be careful on it and dont go ripping on it till you know what the thing can do. Only downside to it is you have to play with the clutch a lot if you want to move slowly, but how often do you think your gonna be putting along for?

Thats hillarious

Its stroke there boss. http://www.users.bigpond.com/jack_stands/m..._strokes_1.html That site above goes into detail of how a 2 stroke engine works.

That is so funny! and so true!! My friend has a honda civic dx. He has an cheap exhaust tip on it and a racing steeringwheel cover man that thing ripps now!!! I know its a 4 cylinder but my Pontiac Sunfire burns that little 1.7 liter or what ever it is. -
Jeeze tonight aint so hot for me. I was rippin up alongside the road just warmin my shee up and as soon as i get to the end of this stretch alongside the lawn i go to turn around then a cop pulls up and gives me a ticket, luckily it was only for no helmet. Then i pick up a buncha my friends to go ice skating and i was doing about 85 down the highway and im just talkin not realizin my speed. Then im like it would suck if i cop was pacing me and pulled me over going 100 or something. Sure enough god damn lights flash behind me and i get pulled over. Thank god i was only doing 85. Has anyone here ever got a ticket going that fast in NYS?? if so how much was it?

OH n/m i think its because i did a search on it.

Anyone else notice that no matter what topic it is if someone says flywheel it comes out yellow and red?

I currently use Bel Ray. How do you know what oil is better? Only difference i see in Bel Ray and amsoil is amsoil smokes a little less and has a different smell to it. But how do you know what protects better when pretty much every high performance oil manufacture says something along the lines of "superior antiscuff protection," or "Number one oil," or something like that?

I hear many people relocate it up front i beleive in front of the radiator or something. Its better to put it up there too because i guess coolant wont spit out or soemthing like that.

What he said, smoke his ass, you should have no trouble.

Yea try going up on your main jets. and turning in your air screw about a half to a full turn in. When it gets cold out especially 20s you should rejet it because the colder air will burn hotter making it run leaner. Also lower the clip position on your needle that may help.

Is lightening the flywheel something i could do myself? or is it a little more complicated then i think it is?

Just save a few bucks and get a set of pipes. Its one of the best mods you can do. Besides that if your going for a cheap mod get some cool stickers for it for a few bucks lol.
-
I'd say just save your money up and get a sled I cant imagine trying to ride a shee through the snow. But ive never had real good tires on it just turftamers on it lol. Anyways id go with the realators ive heard they are pretty good.
-
Im thinking of converting my 87 shee to an a-arm suspension after tax return. I was wondering what kind of A-arms i should get. I mainly fast trails, and thinking of racing mx this summer. Any opinions would be great. thanks
-
I'd say leave it alone if your gonna be riding tight trails. If you have nice wide open trails to ride on go with a bigger front sprocket. Ive got a higher front sprocket and the only places it hurts me is through tight fits and over logs and stuff but you just have to play around with the clutch a little bit.

If you know how to ride Banshees are a blast on the trails. I put some boysen power reeds on mine and it pulls wicked good. I dont need to pop the clutch anymore to do wheelies just goose it a little in first and it lifts the tires real nice. 2 strokes are hands down the best, you put a set of pipes on a Banshee and there isnt many 4 strokes that will be able to touch you.
-
I mainly ride what ever dry dirt we have up here in upstate NY. There are some great trails up here when they are dry, most of the time they are wicked muddy though thats when i get the polaris out.
-
Ever ride a scrambler 500 2x4? I rode my buddies 500 x that thing wheelies like you wouldnt believe i could wheelie as long as i had space to ride. With auto tranny its extremely easy to ride wheelies too. I've also heard that the Raptor is a wicked good wheelie machine.

I cant imagine using a 2 stroke chainsaw or weedeater!!!! And itll suck if i want to buy a new sled they will only have heavy ass slow ass 4 strokes!!!! I want something that i can put a canister on it and it will be louder then hell. All i have ever owned has been 2 stroke quads and they kick ass compared to slow heavy 4 strokes. I heard that the bombardier snowmobiles with their direct injection systems come close or even meet 2006 standards though. If all the other companies would introduce systems like this maybe they could save 2 strokes.
