Me getting the holeshot @ Unadillas Amateur track :-)
-
I can see that it would jump out of the hole thanks to the fuel injection but i think that the yfz's motor is overall more high tech with 5 titanium valves. Yfzs rev incredibly fast too. THe main thing the suzuki has going for it, is the chassis, its almost 50 inches wide all ready!!. Plus comes stock with an anti vibe stem and many other racing goodies.

If your on a budget the R is the way to go. If you have money to spend the banshee is great to setup for mx if you do it right. The frame geometry might not be as good, but slap some aftermarket suspension on it and it can hold fairly well. The best thing about banshees is that its easy to holeshot with them. I race motocross in CNY and do fairly well with my banshee. The main consideration you have to take is cost. The 250r has only 1 cylinder so thats 1 of everything almost that you have to deal with on the motor then the banshee so its all cheaper to repair.

I have sirius hooked up through a kenwood deck and it is awesome!! Sound quality couldnt be better and the only time it cuts out is under overpasses or garages and what not. I havent really listened to stern all that much yet but there are tons of other good stations. Faction is pretty good, bam margara, tony hawk, and lance armstrong all have their own radio shows on that station. I like buzsaw as well it has some good classic hardrock. THere are also canadian stations, korean stations and other neat shit.

Nice!! Congrats to your bud!!

I know 13 over seems bad but if you saw where this was you'd side with me more. There is like no houses or anything around the area and there is like 3 different speed signs adding to the confusion. As far as im concerned i posed no threat to anyones safety as i was actually slowing down coming into town anyways. I think the only reason that the speed limit is as it is, is because they know people will coast into town and they can get easy tickets. But they neglect to patrol the back country roads where people are doing 70+ miles per hour near peoples home. And I stand by my idea that they are dicks to people in sports cars because i have gone right by cops in my jeep before doing the same speed in the same zone and they havent even pulled me over.
-
Ok i got a friggan ticket tonight. It was in my friends sports car and i was only doing 43 in a 30 going into town and slowing down. Now I was wondering how many of you think that, its an unreasonable ticket. the cop was a dick by the way, ive gotten tickets before and cops are never that dickheadish. I just talked to this chick and she says that i was going too fast when i think that 43 aint too bad. I'm pissed

I think unless you are into drag racing or highspeed dune riding, that this is one of the best mods you can get. With the combination of v-force reeds, and a 2into1 pipe mine friggan hauls ass, (also has a port job and high compression heads) Definitely much easier to jet to and makes it more reliable.

You guys are a bunch of morons. This wasnt a bad post till you guys started banshing this guy for saying bills are good. Well let me tell you i use to have bills pipes on my old banshee and they worked great. Of course they dont put out tons of power, because they were intended to be a low/midrange pipe!! Post's like this are why i hardly ever look at this site anymore.

Jeremiah Jones makes history at Unadilla MX
Wassup350 replied to rayne's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I raced there that weekend and let me tell you they aint shitting about those times. I watched the race from the top of the am sweeper where you can pretty much see the whole track from and they are so fast. He was definitely wide open coming up that hill and i dont think that he had one moment where he wasnt pinned. I think Natalie was better that day till he broke down in the first moto. -
Apparently you dont race Monkey boy. As a motocross racer myself, I completely aggree with sredish 100%. I have a set of +2+1 TRC a-arms for my banshee with 10 inches of travel and the bumpsteer caused by the suspension travel is not that much. Last week i raced at thunder ridge which is about a mile down the road from Unadilla. If anyone has ran at either of these tracks, they know about the potholes that form at both tracks. Now i dont have a steering stabilizer so i know how bad potholes cause bumpsteer, because what happens is that when you hit them, one tire is going on flat ground while the other gets jarred by the pothole. When you hit something so harsh it tends to send a lot of feed back through the handle bars which contributes to massive arm pump. By putting a steering stabilizer on anything, it takes the shock felt through the handle bars from hitting pot holes and what not, and reduces it greatly. I would know because i have ridden other quads equipped with stabilizers. Now even though the predators are designed to eliminate bumpsteer caused by suspension travel, they are still prone to bumpsteer caused by pot holes and stumps and what not. So even the "zero bumpsteer predator" can gain benefits from the addition of a steering stabilizer. I'm no expert suspension specialist but i do race and know what works. So if you dont want bumpsteer, keep the travel around 10 inches, get a stabilizer, or just ride flat tracks and roads.

It's 2.41 here in CNY, and has been above 2 dollars for months now When i first got my Jeep GC it costed 35 bucks to fill up, the other day i filled her up for 53 bucks!!!!

The new Raptor is great, it has pretty much the same suspension travel as the YFZ. It also has a lower seat height. I'm sure it could take a stock banshee but as the saying always goes, "throw some pipes on er and she'll kick that raptors ass." or something along those terms. I wouldn't mind having one if i didnt race motocross, looks like they would be great trail machines.

Michael Jackson not guilty on all charges...
Wassup350 replied to Brooke's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I pledge allegiance to the flag, micheal Jackson is a fag, he use to play with little toys, now he plays with little boys. I learned that one back in like 4th grade, and now im in my 2nd year of college. I'm surprised how long that fucker got away with that shit. -
Depending on what kinda riding your doing i would stay away from that set up. You wont have enough sidewall to provide the cusion you need to keep the rims from bending. I would save up for a set of 8 or 9 inchers and sell your 10 inchers.

I'll post em when my buddy developes them he took them with an oldschool camera.

My 1st 1st place wooohooo!!! 1st moto i got 2nd out of the hole, and woulda had it if i didn't wheelie off the line. Then after the first corner i past this guy on a honda through the whoops section of the track and shortly after had a huge lead on him. My banshee was running pretty damn awesome. All the announcer had to say was that "Henriksen is just, gone." 2nd moto wasnt so easy, i didnt jump off the line as fast as i shoulda and got 4th outta the hole, then i had to fight for position. I couldnt pass through the whoops because there was a slow honda in front of me so i ended up passing them in the corners. After that i had a good battle for 1st with a guy on a troy lee predator, i tried getting by him for a whole lap untill we got to the high speed jump where i past him through the air SHortly after passing him i had an other huge lead, and it was great. I'm so glad i could show all those damn 4 stroke wtf was up. All the people who say banshees are just good for strait lines can blow me. My only complaint now is that im 1 cut away from moving up to amateur, and my buddy who races on a YFZ450 is still 4 cuts away I've got a lot of work to do if i am gonna move up to amateur, some of the bikes the guys have in that class are just insane. If anyone is going to Unadilla the weekend after next weekend let me know maybe we could pit together or something. It's always fun talking to other dudes w/ banshees.

I race MX in CNY and it's a blast. Dont have any real good sponsers though besides the local yamaha dealer hooks me up with good deals which helps pretty good.
-
Did anyone go to Unadilla this past weekend? Me and a bunch of my buddies went, 4 of us raced quads. One had a YFZ, a predator, and an old school LT250R, and of course i raced the banshee. That track was pretty sick, nice drop offs and a lot of nice jumps. I finished 4th and 4th both motos, I coulda done better but had to work late the night before and was kinda tired. The corners at the track were greasy as hell also. I took one corner too fast and spun out and did a 360, that set me back a shitload. All in all though it was a kick ass track. I'll post pics if i can round some up.

It is also the same pattern as the scrambler and sport 400 if that helps any. -
Anyone going to Motomasters tommorow?? Me and my friend are racing there tommorow im the number 85 gray and blue banshee and my friend has the number 69 gray and red predator. I'll try getting good pics to post.
-
Not sure if any of these tracks are near by but here you go District 6 District 3 District 3 is my district but that page has links to all the other districts in NY i beleive. Might wanna check em out.
-
The guy at my local yamaha said that they are considering continuing the banshee due to sales being higher than expected. But its highly unlikely.
-
I beleive you want it toed out so that when your suspension moves up the tires are out more and they will become more aligned opposed to creating more bumpsteer. When you adjust this you might want a few friends help you out to do adjustments. You want to be sitting on the quad while this is being adjusted so the suspension is where it's at when you ride it. We take some aluminum strait edges and butt them up against the tires and measure from them, you always want to be sure after every adjustment that the strait edges are flush with the tires. When you measure you want to measure the distance between the strait edges on the front and back of the tires and the front should be about an 1/8" longer than the back.

I just put a set on mine with a custom built set of +2+1 TRC a-arms. From what i was told its not a good idea to run longer shocks on stock arms or a-arms that arent built for longer shocks. The guy who built my a-arms said that if you put too long of a shock on the a-arms, what happens is that it puts a lot more stress on the ball joints when the shocks extend in the air, this will cause the ball joints to crack in mid air and finish off on the landing. So when you get a-arms for longer shocks the lower shock mounts should be out more so that you dont have to compress the shock just to get it in. Maybe someone can elaborate on this its kind of hard to explain.
