  1. Start with the easy stuff first. Check your plugs, gap on the plugs, gap on the stator, and then move to switching out the cdi and ignition coil. Then I would do a compression check and so on... .018 on the gaps by the way. Another gremlin is plug boots. Those things tend to start to seperate after a couple years. Good luck!
  2. I'm running about the same but I am also I'm running Gibson headers to a single muffler and then two from there to each side and a high flo cat... sounds really good...
  3. from your signature it looks like you may running enough hp that you may need a override transmission.... I am going through the same problem myself. Before going to the cub I was able to click through my gears pretty eaisly. Now I notice that under a load the tranny doesnt want to click up while I'm on the throttle. I literally have to get off the throttle and pull the clutch now to shift gears...
  4. try setting your idle up and leaning your pilot jets....
  5. Syncing the carbs will make a huge improvement.... If you dont have tors there is an adjustment at the top of the carbs with a nut on it. Loosen them up and then screw or unscrew one to make it match with the other. Make sure you give it a couple full throttle pulls to make sure that the carbs will open all the way. Tighten down the nuts once you have the adjustment done. I usually set the idle by the thumb throttle, seems to be the easiest way for me.
  6. If it where me I do this... Have your stock head milled (bout $30) and buy your self the reeds too. Best of both worlds... Then when you do have money for a head... sell your stocker on ebay!
  7. you probably know but.... you set the timing by the #'s on the plate to where your cases meet together..Just loosen up the plate to your desired timing and tighten it back down.
  8. you set the gap to .018. Take off your flywheel cover and you will see a little black box with some wires attatched to it. That's your pick up (it'll have a little magnet on it). Turn your flywheel so that the magnet on that meets up with the pick up magnet. Unscrew the pick up (should have two phillip head screws on it) and stick your feeler guage between the two. Tighten down screws.... Your Done!
  9. V-Force reeds are notrious for not sealing up very well. Make sure they are tight and have a good seal. Also check the reeds themselves. Did you try switchng the plug wires? Did the problem follow the wire? If so, it could also be your plug boot. Also pretty common to go out from time to time...
  10. Good lord... did you do that all by freehand? That's bad ass.
  11. I just bought a traxxas revo last night. Still breaking in the motor but it seems to be damn cool....
  12. Lexan glass? Still got it?
  13. to be completely honest... yes. If it happens to fall throught I'll repost it and you can have first dibs sheefreak.
  14. not sure if I am on the good guys list or not... my ebay name is needstuffguy if you want to check that.
  15. I am probably going to throw the clamps in with the swingarm....
  16. Looks nearly perfect....$400
  17. I like the idea because most builders take a long time to bore, hone, etc (you are lucky to have someone that can do the work fast like that loco)... the other part is when stock cylinders get to their last bore you'll have to resleeve them. With the nikisil you'll never have to resleeve the cylinder.. I guess different strokes for different folks... I think its an advantage.
  18. Completely depends on your setup. I used to run 13/44 or 45 on my old ported 350 with 22X11X8 9 paddle exteme ultalights/+6 swingarm and thought it was about perfect.
  19. The cub also makes a couple more ponies because the nikisil is suppose to cause less friction than its stock counterpart.... not to mention that rebuilds cost a whole lot less because you just re-plate them when they start to lose compression.
  20. 420 is the dividing line.. Well depending on who you talk to anyway.
  21. Althought Cascade has some nice billet parts they dont have the best rep here in Oregon for being a great builder... I've spent a good deal of money with them and they have never really treated all that well. I would suggest looking at other cub builders. I would point you to Patriot or Redline Racing due to personal perference but there are plenty of other reputable builders that I have heard good things about... White Knuckle Racing, SSR, McCoy, A&S, etc....
  22. did you try rocky mtn atv?
