  1. I would highly suggest not going to some local shop to have it ported and polished. There are many fine builders on this sight and have built very good reputations for there work. Do a search on the subject and do some research on your builder before giving up your baby.
  2. yes, you should really be running race gas... or at least a majority of it should be.
  3. Probably going to boil down to weight and who is a better rider.
  4. Does any swear by the superlights? Is the extra money worth it. Do they wear faster... etc.
  5. Not sure how to do this with the new forum. You could just insert them before...
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2440126949. Anyone had this done or know him?
  7. I run a twist throttle which I intially hated. After a couple rides I got used to it and now I love it. I think it made me a better rider too.
  8. Do run into porting problems after this?
  9. How small can you go if your crank is welded up, can change timing up to 7degrees, and dont mind running 50/50 gas without running into porting issues?
  10. Good price!!! It makes a difference but dont expect this bolt on to pull your front wheels off the ground for ya....
  11. Quick question. If you do a "mild" port job is it possible to later go to a "full" port? Or does the "reshaping" not allow for this?
  12. Man, I hate to admit it but the new yam 450 is awesome. I rode one last weekend (my buddy just bought it) at Sand Lake that had some 22 inch haulers and the thing didnt even bog a little. In fact, I could hardly keep the front wheels on the ground. Not only was it incredibly fast (stock at that) but it was fun to ride. It's so light that you can throw it around, pull the front wheels up in just about any gear, or catch some great air without even thinking twice about it. I raced a couple bolt on banshees at the bowl and the 450 was right there with em. Didnt beat them but didnt get beat either. I think I am going to get one of these too. If you havent got on one of these yet I suggest you dont cause your probably going to want to buy one! Dont get me wrong I love my shee and would never get rid of it but that bike was nice.
  13. Do you have after market springs??? Are you mixing them in with stock springs???
  14. Are all of your springs tight and even??? Is your pressure plate on correctly? You may need to line it up...
  15. Pipes and air filter. Those are probably the best hp for the money. Dont forget to re-jet!!! Here is a great sight for pipes and various other mods... http://www.youngwoody.com/pipeguide.htm.
  16. FixitRod is probably right... I had the same problem about 2 months ago. Make sure you get that center nut tight! I didnt and ended up pushing my banshee about a mile in the sand...
  17. I like the fact that this site is free and gives good information out to beginners who would be lost otherwise. I think a lot of new timers would be discouraged if they had to pay. On the otherhand... I'd be more than willing to pay for a premier account and help out!
  18. seat looks great... as does the bike. Got anymore pics?
