  2. yup,we didn't have the right tools and the knowledge....I know the guy at the stealership....I've been riding with him for years....he gave us a break on the $
  3. I'll bet a $100 you have a short in a wire....My buddy had a perfet running shee and he took it all apart to paint.Than it would not start.we did wire testing and replaced parts from my machine.no spark!!! took it to a yahama dealer he got it back the next day running like a champ. There was a bad wire.if you don't know what you're doing, good chance you'll be beating your head agaist the wall for many long nights in the garage.
  4. Sounds like everyone is thinking the same as I was.Ride it and do a plug chop....can't wait to ride the bit*h with the new pipes, quicksand arms and elka's all around!!!
  5. i'm riding trails and on and off the gas.The T-5's are a great pipe, but just got sick of keeping the damn thing in the powerband. Also they hit hard and have to much wheel spin.if I was in 5th and 6th gear alot I would keep the T-5's.
  6. Junk the boost bottle. It's more problems than it's worth!!
  7. what kind of jetting changes should i expect?Or will I be pretty close....
  8. My buddy had the same problem with his stock carb.He took the carb to my buddy at the deaerl and a quick adjustment of the float and it never happen again...
  9. Houser does not make them for the shee I thought they did....oops I'm going with quicksand arms...I'm hoping to hear back from them soon.I have no idea what to do with the tie rod ends and longer brake lines.most arms come with all that, but didn't see any of this with the arms.
  10. houser also makes LT arms.I wish I could help you out dawgfan, but i'm in the same boat as you...Shopping for suspension.
  11. I have more time to look into A-arms now...I saw some long travel arms. What do you guys say about those?I will be trail riding the shee, not much jumping and some whoops here and there.I haven't heard much talk about the long travel arms.so what ya got!
  12. Are you putting a brand new plug in?Warm the motor put new plugs in.do the plug chop right away. You need to cut the threads off the plug to see the smoke ring.2mm-4mm your in good shape.
  13. With stock bars you'll be fine.I had to install a 1 inch bar rise.I have dirt bike bars on.
  14. Does anyone have a stock airbox stitting in their garage after putting on dual pods???I'm looking for one that has no burns or holes and in good shape.I found a mint one last year for my buddy and it's killing me I can't find one for myself.
  15. Yup done that for two years.I did notice a difference,BUT I broke two piston skirts in two years....I've been running the same brand pistons now for 3 years. This winter I just put new rings in and a hone.....It's not worth it in my book.
  16. What size jets do you have in the carb now? Does it run like crap only on the bottom?or through out the powerband....
  17. This has nothing to do with jetting, but in a way you were trouble shooting. One good thing to do is pressure test your motor for air leaks.Alot of people think they have a jetting problem when they have a air leak.I made my prussure tester for a few bucks and use my air compressor.i will check it once a year if I don't tear the motor apart...Also check it after rebuild.
  18. I was just at the quicksand website and I did not see any contact info there.I saw a posting a while back with his email or something. Anyone have that or phone number?
  19. How can I get a hold of Gary from quicksand? I've always been a little shunned from works shocks, like one said you get what you pay for.I will be getting elka's i think.i didn't know about axis and pep.I'll check them out thou.shocks will be with rezzies dual or triple rate. I will be trail riding with the shee.I'm still not sure if I should get the adjustable A-arms????could some of you guys shed some light on this. What' the gain for trail riding?
  20. I'm going to buy a-arms and shocks front and rear, arms will be +2+1.I'm not sure what brand yet.Anyone regret buying the buget arms and shocks? Is it worth the money for adjustable arms? Also shocks....any regrets not buying triple rate or with rezzy's and so on.What kit will give the best preformance such as traction and most travel over stock? Thanks guys......
  21. also use some lube!!I had the same problem I use some lube and treaded the puller on like I was tapping the hole back and forth. The puller went all the way on by finger by doing this.
  22. Check out rivaracing.com I always use their parts finder to find out the cost of factory parts. The $ are with in cents of the local dealer. You can order parts from this site... I bought that bolt and it was not even close to $50.
