  1. wayfst, it was those damn carbs your sold me! lol Jeff, I've got a new basket and inner hub here to try, if that doesn't solve my problem I'll get a hold of you for sure, thanks.
  2. If you're thinkin about sellin those parts I could probly use the head.
  3. Just got back from a dune trip and my bike kept smokin clutches. They'd last about 3-4 hours, do a little draggin and all of a sudden the clutch would get real stiff, it wouldn't shift, then it wouldn't move. Install new clutch plates and repeat. After the first one went the bike didn't seem to pull at all like it was. The clutches were getting so hot it turned the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th steels blue each time the clutch went and the fibers melted. Musta been slippin horribly. Trashed both EBC and Tusk clutches, using 6 heavy duty springs. I'm sure it wasn't an adjustment problem. Only thing I can see is the basket is severly grooved and loose to the gear, you guys think this could've been causing the problem? Anything else I should be checking? I did check to see that the clutch arm was returning properly and the pushrod and ball weren't welded, no problems there. I was running plain ole 10w 30.
  4. Had the same problem with mine earlier this year. Turned out to be a bad spark plug cap
  5. My brother wants an older style small tail light for his 04 Banshee to replace the great big tail/brake light assembly. If any of you guys got one laying around ya wanna sell lemme know, thanks.
  6. Where are you at in Michigan? I can reccommend an awesome builder in Bay City. Not a big name shop but does very high quality work. He shaved my head and welded and custom cut the domes for my motor. He said if I were to buy a coolhead or noss head that I would still have to get blank domes so he could cut them, so I just had him do my stock head. I like being stealthy. If you're interested shoot me a PM. Yes, with porting and higher compression you should have your crank welded.
  7. Hey guys, just blew out one of my front shocks. I need to get it replaced before a dune trip this weekend so I was hoping to find someone who had some in Michigan that I could drive to pick up this week. Let me know if any of you guys have anything close, thanks.
  8. When I was just piped I would just about side by side with my buddies piped 450. It's gonna be all in the rider, it'll be key to get that 2nd gear holeshot. With my ported motor I pull second gear outta the hole with a 15 tooth front, haven't been holeshoted by a 450 yet. You can beat him, but you'll have to ride the hell otta it.
  9. Yeah, the place I'm thinkin of is right after family video, before the sugar beat factory. I think it's closed though.
  10. yes, they will fit on the same rims. I have no real problems with the knarly but my brother runs them on his stock Banshee and we found them to be a little heavy and power robbing. Deffinitely not a problem on loco's monster but something to think about if you're close to stock.
  11. Deffinitely go down to a 20" tire. No need to change fronts. Banshee's come stock with 21" fronts and 20" backs and that's probably the sizes most on here still run. I've had both holeshots and razrs. I thought the holeshots performed a little better on hardpack, although they suck in any kind of mud. The razrs perform pretty well everywhere. Overall I think I liked my holeshots a little more but they wore out very fast. The razrs have lasted a lot longer. I think if you do a lot of street riding you'll smoke the holeshots in a big hurry. The razrs would hold up a lot better, that's what I would suggest.
  12. Somebody e-mail him and tell him how to spell chassis Cool project but I don't really understand why, I hate riding stock raptor chassis. Guy musta figured it was the only way to make it fast short of putting a CBR motor in it.
  13. demonspeeding, I see there is a place in Bay City called Bay City platers. Do you happen to know if that is the same as Valley Chrome? Valley chrome is on Euclid south of Salzburg but the last time I was by there it looked like it closed for business. Maybe this Bay City Platers is a different place?
  14. I took an extra a-arm that I had, removed the rubber boot and heated it up to see if it could be PC'ed. The ball joint must be plastic lined because after I heated it, it was junk, very loose. So I don't think PC is a good option. Maybe someone has done it with success though. I know you can chrome stock arms, seen many of them done. I'm looking for a place to do mine right now. Must tape off the ball joint I guess.
  15. I'm curious to find somewhere good in Michigan too. I found a place in Saginaw called Tri-City Plating but they are three weeks out on everything they do and don't seem very organized. I want to have some a-arms done.
  16. hhhmmm, that's rather disturbing lol
  17. Generally the single carb setups work well for low-end / midrange and stay about the same on top as stockers. If your thinking about porting you would deffinitely need at least a 35mm with a single carb setup. I run 15-41 gearing on mine. The taller gearing your bike will pull the faster you will be. Bigger in front - more speed, smaller in front - less speed. It is opposite on the rear. I took 30 thousanths off my head as well as having the domes reshaped. You should be fine with 30 thousanths on pump premium. Advance your timing 4 degrees while your at it. Yes, Fattys respond very well to porting.
  18. How old are the plugs, maybe he needs to start with a new set and check his jetting.
  19. I'm interested, I sent you a PM.
  20. Hey guys, lookin for an extra set of stock carbs to have bored. Would also take a set of 28's, or maybe even 30's if someone has them. If you have a set of stockers they don't even have to be complete, just really need the carb bodies, Thanks.
  21. You have a PM, interested in the clutch cover.
  22. Thunder pipes are an inframe drag pipe aren't they? 290's might be a little lean at sea level if you ask me but wait to hear from someone with firsthand experience.
  23. What do you guys think about the Mikuni D-slide carbs, are they any good? I was thinking about buying a set of the 30's for my quad. I have Fatty pipes, trail porting, shaved head, and K&N with no lid, would 30's be a good choice or would they be too much? Don't wanna loose alot of bottom end. Would I have to buy different carb boots for these? Thanks for your input guys. EDIT: not sure what I was thinking but the carbs aren't Mikuni's, they are from CPW (carb parts warehouse) Maybe I'll just have my stockers bored for now, thanks wanyways. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
