  1. Happy Birthday!!! Your quad definitely belonged in a museum, one of my all time favorites as well
  2. Is that all you used? That engine looks awesome
  3. Do you have any kind of bill of sale stating he has given a deposit and will pay the rest later, or was this all done verbally?
  4. Pressure washer and a hand mitt w/soap is all I typically use...then I'll grab the polish and re-touch all my aluminum parts. If you're running an airbox you should be fine as long as you don't spray water directly in it...but if you're running pod filters, you definitely want to cover them up with something to keep the water out.
  5. Another vote for Nero here  It's incredibly easy to use, and like mentioned before, you can burn all kinds of media with it
  6. I like to think my bike ran pretty hard...especially considering I'm not the ideal weight for a drag racer. Andy does great work, his pipes, porting, swingarms, everything I've run that has come out of GRR is top notch. My gas setup against race-a-holics alky bike Running a street bike
  7. For the dirt strip, they're the best tire to use IMO (it's what I run now). If I were running sand, I'd definitely have a set of paddles though.
  8. If drag racing is all you plan to do, and with an engine like you're going to be running, you'll need a drag chassis to reach it's full potential. Don't get me wrong, you could stretch out a stock chassis and have a lot of fun, but if you're going to be competitive, the drag chassis is the way to go...and you can get a suspended one, doesn't have to be rigid
  9. Snake Hunt should be on April 14th, which is one week after Easter. We should be good!!!
  10. I still plan on being there for sure...I'll have two banshees and my friend will have his craptor....not sure if anyone else from my area will be there, but I definitely plan on making this trip. I'm pretty sure I checked the calendar for snake hunt and I don't think it's the weekend after this trip, but I'll check again. I tried to take that into account when planning the trip, cause I'd rather not go on a busy weekend...but I'll check again
  11. Who knows, maybe I'll venture up to Michigan...never been there before! LOL, I wish I was running a cheetah! I've got a 421 cub, that's all my wallet could afford!!!
  12. Happy Birthday!!!! :woot:
  13. I don't doubt that at all!!! Shearers seem to be excellent pipes...just figured I'd pass the word on about the GRR's, didn't know if people knew Andy could/would throw some silencers on his suicide pipes  Maybe we can get together sometime this upcoming year for some racing...our setups should be very similar
  14. I think Andy can put silencers on them, don't know if that alone would be enough to pass the spark emmissions though.
  15. LOL, thanks Bruce...and I agree, there's no need to go into any more details on the issue, and I did appreciate you taking the time to elaborate on your opinion to help me understand. Moving forward........... Dave, you're correct, I run Grand River cylinders, pipes, swingarm, etc. etc. I'm really pleased with what I have and the porting Andy did on them, I just wanted to try someone different. I've always liked Jeff and have been extremely happy with his customer service, so I wanted to have him do the porting on my cubs. I've seen several of his bikes run and they were all impressive. I knew I couldn't go wrong with him! I still plan to run the Grand River pipes with the cub, call me silly but I don't want to run shearers because everyone and their grandma have them (no offense to those who run shearers). I love my GRR pipes, they're sick....the quality is top notch, they look and perform awesome. Andy really does a great job making pipes. Thanks for the kind words about my bike, it'll look a little bit different for the next race season!! :woot:

  17. Odaen and I had a discussion about this last week and he summed up his beef with Jeff. It basically boiled down to odaen asking Jeff a technical question, and didn't get a technical answer, and Jeff wasn't really able to honestly answer the question...which he said he had never personally used what odaen was asking about. At the end of Jeff's response, he told odaen that if he needed any parts, to give him a call. From what understand, that's the only real issue he has with him...but am not 100% sure. I understand where odaen might be disgruntled by not getting a text book answer back from Jeff, but don't think it's a reason to bash Jeff or make sly remarks on an open forum...and even more so say Jeff's out to get everyone's money. I don't think it's right, but he is entitled to his opinion whether I agree with it or not, and can respect that being that he is a friend of mine and has never done me any wrong. I figured I would just let that be what it was and move on...he can spend his money where he wants to and I can spend mine where I want to...and so on. Just because I don't agree with his "beliefs" doesn't make him a bad person, and I hope that he and I can continue to be friends regardless of who we like to deal with... On the same note though, I have the utmost respect for Jeff, simply because he has always been honest and up front with me, and has never tried to feed me any bullshit about anything. He's always delivered on time if not sooner, and everything he's sold me has been exactly what he described. To me (just MY opinion), that alone is worth 10 times more than knowing exactly how something works, especially with all the POS shops that are out there. Jeff will continue to be my builder of choice, and he's got my cubs right now for portwork. He will always be my first stop when looking for parts, or advice. Jeff has the best customer service of all the shops I have personally dealt with, and I know that my money is well spent with him at his business. I have nothing but excellent things to say about Jeff, and when someone asks, I will pass on the great reviews that I feel Jeff has earned. Just wanted to throw my .02 in the jar :ninja:
  18. Fucking thieves get under my skin like nothing else  Sorry to hear about that...good luck getting something in return
  19. Ahh, ok, I got ya...I bought one of those too but didn't have very good luck with it (just my personal experience). The quality was pretty good especially for the cost, but it didn't last but a few recordings and then it broke. I guess getting smacked by a tree doesn't help it, lol. My bullet cam held up through rain, tree whackings, being dropped, sat on, etc and finally gave way when the fixed wires were pulled out of the back of the cam....just enough to lose contact and kill the picture.
  20. American Racers...13" wheel in the rear Here is some info on where to get them. http://www.planetsand.com/ubbthreads/showf.../0/fpart/1/vc/1
  21. You got a helmet cam and camcorder for under 200 bucks? What brands?
  22. Yep! I picked up the camcorder first and then got the helmet cam to match the camcorder's inputs. I'll get the model number for you tonight  Just a note, you don't necessarily have to get this same camcorder to be able to use the helmet cam. What I did was just shop ebay for good quality Hi-8 camcorders, and when I found one I liked, I searched google for that model and got all the specs for it. (Even if the auction had the specs, I still double-checked on the web). Only feature that is necessary is A/V inputs (if you're going the same route I did) and that's it...you'll need a capture card to transfer the video to your PC too. I got my capture card for about 75 bucks at Best Buy and it works perfect. It also came with video editing software.
  23. Ouch! That doesn't sound good. Merry Christmas to you too BFS!!!
  24. http://www.bulletcam.com/helmet_Cams_products.htm That is where I picked mine up from, I got the kit that had the cam with 380 lines of resolution. I abused the crap out of it for at least 2 years and it worked awesome until it's final days. I got a camcorder off ebay for 150, so the whole package only cost me roughly $310. I picked up a sony handycam, HI-8 camcorder, and it works excellent. I can't remember the model number but can get it for whoever wants it. I didn't want to spend a butt load of money on a nice camcorder to drag through the trails with me, so the HI-8 camcorder was perfect. And the best part is, I have a camcorder I can use anytime without the helmet cam, so it's not like I spent 300 bucks on just a helmet cam setup. Here's a link to a video I made with the helmet cam...it may take a while to download but it'll give you an idea of what you can have on a budget. This has also been compressed so the quality is much better on the "raw" footage  Right click and "save target as" http://70.60.177.190/video/ls05.wmv
