Got Air, Fuel And A Spark...not Starting
bigboybanshee replied to bigboybanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yeah, that's what my buddy was saying...I have clear hoses and I watched the fuel run down into the carbs. Good thought though! Thanks! -
It happened last week, I was riding along cutting donuts and the shee just bogged and died. Nothing unusal happened when it died, no weird noises or actions, just quit. I tried kicking it over about 20 times and still nothing. Went home, changed the plugs(old plugs didn't look that bad), cleaned the carbs, cleaned my air filter, kicked it over, still nothing. Pulled the plug, stuck it in the coil wire, checked for spark and saw one. This is what has me boggled. I have the three elements to make it run, but it still won't fire! When I had the carbs off I took a gander at the reeds, none were broken, maybe a little worn but nothing major. They still seated well on the cages. Compression seems good, I plan to check it sometime this week anyways just to be sure. Carbs are clean, slides are in sync and facing the right way, choke tube in place, air filter is clean, new plugs, and I got spark....Could it be a "weak" spark that's keeping it from starting? I was thinking maybe the stator but wanted your opinions before I go tearing into it...maybe there is something I might be missing or forgetting...Anyhow, any help is GREATLY appreciated, all thoughts are welcome!! Thank YOU!!!

Not Bansee But Just As Fast!

Could be stolen....kinda ironic how it needs a key wired in and the owner doesn't know why??? -
Well said evil...my thoughts exactly
-
That is just flat out retarded

That's a good idea, I'd be willing to bet they would swap out your damaged one for a new one with a minimal fee...definitely something to check on

Maybe if your first post was clear and didn't conflict with your second, we could understand it better...first it was a minimum of one year in prison and now its up to one year in prison. Where is the second quad that you're being accused of keeping? I think that it was stupid to store some kid's quad you didn't know anything about in your shop. Did you not ever wonder why the hell this kid wants to store his broken warrior in your shop? This whole matter does suck for you but common sense tells you that you don't just go storing other people's shit at your house/shop not knowing anything about it. Hope this will all clear up and they penalize the real thief but in their eyes(the police), you look like the thief because you are the one with the stolen goods. Ya might as well have stolen it yourself. I don't mean to be an ass but technically you are guilty because you're harboring the stolen property. The only way you'll possibly get any kind of positive turnaround on this issue is if you can really prove that you had no idea this quad was stolen, which will be damn near impossible. Sounds like your "trustworthy" little friend stole the quad and set you up for taking the heat for it...You can't complain too much, you should have asked more questions before you let him put anything in your possession. I hope the cops are more forgiving in your neck of the woods than mine!!!

Never thought of that....HMMMMMMMM

That IS a good idea!

Yeah you can definitely hook up a TV just for the DVD player. You'd be better off getting an LCD screen or flat screen off ebay for a 150 bucks or so opposed to trying and rigging up a PC monitor....I would definitely get a power inverter like evil said unless you plan on making it permanent, then I would have it wired up to your battery and a switch...But, all in all, yes you can do it and it is not very hard at all.

Thanks Dunedemon, that makes plenty of sense I definitely did not know there were plyers made just for safety wire!!! Thanks again!

Welcome to the forums! I do a lot of similar riding and if I were you, I would NOT go with the K&N clamp ons, dual or single. Get a K&N drop in filter that goes in your airbox. If you're gonna go through any water I highly recommend keeping your airbox. Now, if you're only going through small puddles, etc then there is a mod you can do that helps increase airflow and keeps your filter protected. You can cut 1.5 inches off the back of the airbox lid(opposite end of the snorkel) and it lets your filter breathe a little more without completely exposing your filter to the elements. Hope this helps!

I've heard people say this before (to use the safety wire) and I was wondering how you put the safety wire on as well..Ironically, I had ordered a new set of grips last week and they came in today. Figured I should not beat around the bush and put them on right the first time....Hairspray and glue didn't last but one ride when I used them before

My friend flipped his front wheels and said it made the world of difference...I rode it myself and noticed a nice difference, especially for the fact it didn't cost anything!!! That always puts a smile on my face. BUT, if you're wanting a drastic improvement there is no quick fix other than swapping A-Arms.

Check Out This Auction Nice! Lol
bigboybanshee replied to stealthawd's topic in Online Auction Watch
I've seen a few other sellers on ebay try that approach....worked for me!!!! It IS one hell of a sales pitch!!! -
They are DG. I have a spare set of those exact pipes in my garage. The person you bought them from could have pulled the DG stickers off and replaced them with aftermarket ones. They were not a bad pipe at all when mine were on the banshee, pulled pretty good and had a nice range of power. I know a lot of people bash the DG pipes but I had nothing but a good experience with them.

As far as the Mr Clean Auto Dry thing, yeah you gotta scrub the truck still, the main thing this contraption is for is to keep you from having to dry it off by hand, which can cause a lot of those swirl marks. My friend used it on his truck and it was totally spotless afterwards. As far as your swirl marks, this is what I did to my boy's ride that had MAJOR swirl damage...His paint was immaculate afterwards 1st- Washed it REALLY good and made sure there was no dirt or ANYTHING on the surface. 2nd- Used Meguiars paint cleaner and cleaned the dirt/grime off that's not really visible..after you use this you'll see what I mean. It takes off oxidants as well and you'll feel the surface will be MUCH smoother. After I use the paint cleaner you can rub your finger on the paint and it literally will be squeaky clean 3rd- Used Mequiars liquid polish and buffed it with that. This helps make the color of the paint have a deeper look to it, and also adds the first layer of shine, along with removing I'd say half the swirls. 4th- Used the Mequiars Quick wax cleaner used between waxings to clear off any excess polish or any pollen, etc that may have got on the paint since you polished it. 5th- Finished up with Mequiars Yellow Paste wax for the final touch. After doing this step, the swirls had been reduced by at least 80-90% and the shine was amazing. Instead of using a buffer to take this coat of wax off, I used a 100% cotton T-shirt folded inside out. IMO it helps prevent obtaining more swirls when taking off this wax, which is the most critical considering its the final coat. This whole process took me roughly 5 hours, which is well worth it if you value the condition of your paint. I'll see if I have any pictures of the Bullit I did this to, to kinda show you the difference this process makes. If I lived closer to ya I could do it for ya, wouldn't charge much, maybe just a few brews and an afternoon in the dunes...detailing cars has always been a hobby of mine, my friends are blown away at what I can do with paint on a car. Sorry for the long post, wanted to be as descriptive as I could. Hope this helps!

Cool deal DUNEDEMON! I've heard of that stuff (Wax as you dry) and used it before, works really good!! Eagle One has some really good products too. They make a spray on wheel cleaner that is amazing. As a side note, in case you haven't heard or tried it but that new Mr. Clean Auto Dry car wash works really good too. As long as you use it as directed the results are GREAT! Just figured I'd add that Stan, sorry to hear that...is the paint faded that bad? If you still have any clear coat at all on there I could make it purdy! Too bad you live so damn far away, I'd hook you up with a freebie polish/wax for all the billet you've made for me...I can make damn near anything shine, always been a skill of mine

I want one XXL for sure, let me know when to pay!!! THANKS

I use the Meguiars Yellow paste wax on my car...I've ALWAYS used Meguiars products for all the detailing aspects of my ride; IMO nothing works better!! I'm not sure I know which wax you're talkin about (Nxt) is it new? I can tell you that the Meguiars is the shit though, fair price for an excellent product. *Tip* Don't know if anyone else does this but I found that if I do not dry the car before applying the wax (just leave it wet after the wash) that the finish has a deeper "wetter" look to the paint..and it's a little easier to remove. The wax "protection" doesn't last as long but its the look that I'm after Hope this helps!
