Whatever Happened To Got1banshee?
bigboybanshee replied to 00BANSHEE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Maybe, but who the f*ck cares? All this post was intended to be was to find out where the man is, not to try and convict him and/or say if he's right/wrong...Why are you wasting your time making retarded posts about another man's decision? Why don't you go make some more cut fenders so we can all steal your designs -
Cool beans...glad to hear you got em Let us know how this all turns out!!

I think that would be a great starting point, especially with the air filter you're running. Are those 290's the ones I sent ya?

Holyman, if this falls through I might be interested in buying the flywheel you posted (the better looking one). I'll shoot you a PM as well in case you don't come back to this thread -
This really sounds a lot like the problem I'm having right now. One minute running like a scalded beast, next minute absolutley nothing. Me thinks I need to check my wiring If you figure it out Meat, be sure to let us know!!! DON'T SELL IT!!!!

Who Makes The Best Grille And Gas Cap?
bigboybanshee replied to German Shepherd's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I got my grill from JJfabrication off ebay for 35 bucks plus shipping. I like it, doesn't seem to restrict much airflow to the radiator and cleans up nice. Ya know Stan, this could be something else you could add to your list of billet stuff....hint hint -
Idealy you want your idle/air screws to be 1.5 to 2 turns out. Seems that you already are doing the right thing by changing the pilot jets...once you get the 27.5's in turn your air screws back to 1.5-2 turns out and adjust as necessary from there.

How Can You Tell What Year?

I'm gonna have to wait till I get home from work to be sure but if my memory strikes me correctly the VIN # matches the 94 model...Thanks for asking -
I'd love to see how that looked!!!! I'll have to keep that one in mind just in case!

How Can You Tell What Year?

cb67rs1, you are my hero Meat's site had exactly what I needed. Thanks to you and Meat!! -
When I bought my banshee the guy I bought it from wasn't sure what year it was, and I didn't really care for the fact that all years are fairly similar...all I cared about was the fact I just got a complete banshee for $500 Anyhow, later I find out that certain years had minor differences such as style of connector plugs (i.e. stator plug connector, run/kill switch, etc). Well, its coming down to me looking for replacement parts and I found a stator that will work for a 94 but not a 95 or vice versa. This is where my problem comes in...I was told two different things: the color of plastics on there were purple and yellow, which one guy said that signifies it being a 95, and another guy said that it was a 94 I know the frame is original along with the engine, and I know there is a way to tell what year it is by looking at the VIN #. Does anyone either know if the yellow/purple plastic combo is particular to only one year, or does anyone know how to tell by looking at the VIN? I remember a long time ago someone had posted the different years and their color combos but I can't find it and or remember the specifics. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!! THANKS!

Got Air, Fuel And A Spark...not Starting
bigboybanshee replied to bigboybanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
That's what I'm beginning to think as well boonman. I got a compression tester yesterday for the hell of it, gonna try it tonight. Also got some electrical component cleaner to get all the dirt and grime off the CDI, coil, and wiring so I can check for any breaks or weak points in the harness. Gotta snag me an ohm meter to test that stator...when this all started that was my first gut feeling of what the problem is...Anyhow, THANK YOU ALL for the replies, after I get the compression and electrical components tested I'll let you know where I stand; hopefully running -
Man, a top end rebuild should cost no more than 200 bucks, that's the piston kit, gaskets, and the bore job. It only takes a couple hours to do, and should only keep you from riding for a week. I'm in the same boat as you are right now, believe me, I understand your anger. I don't know where you're getting your prices from, a wiseco piston kit, which includes most of your gaskets, only costs 119 bucks on ebay. A bore job should be no more than 50, and I added the extra 30 in there for miscellaneous little things you might need. Regardless of whether or not you want to rebuild your top end, you need to. With the compression you listed you're due for one and if you ride as much as you say you want to, you'll need one soon anyhow even if this is not the reason your banshee won't start. SO, go buy you a top end kit, and when you order it, take your cylinders to be bored. That way, by the time your pistons show up in the mail, your cylinders will be done and all you have to do is slap it on there.

I think you are just having trouble dealing with the fact you need a rebuild. Even at 90 psi you're still way low...Rebuild the top end and be done with it!!!

Got Air, Fuel And A Spark...not Starting
bigboybanshee replied to bigboybanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
When it died the temp was 170...doesn't overheating start at 200-220? I tried that too and still no luck I used to have 25 pilots and it would not start at all until I raised them up to 30 and then it started perfectly. I'll try and grab a compression tester tonight and see what I find. Would it be safe to rule out the stator? Thank you all VERY much for the help!! -
Got Air, Fuel And A Spark...not Starting
bigboybanshee replied to bigboybanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Float bowls are good and I sprayed some carb cleaner in through the choke tube and still not starting. I pulled the plugs after trying to kick it over a few times to see if the plugs were wet and they were damp and smelled of gas...so fuel is getting to the combustion chamber. I guess I'll check the compression ASAP, but something tells me it just might be something else...Only reason I think so, and I may be very wrong, but why would it start on the first kick and run great, then two hours later it dies and will not fire at all? Could the compression drop that fast? I really appreciate the help I'm getting, any more is GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!!
