  1. What's all the fuss about, just HUCK it and be done with it....sheeeesh
  2. Where were you at on jetting before the rebuild? What mods were you running before?
  3. lol, my PT's are chrome Just messin with ya... I had been tossing the idea around in my head to go with this setup for a while, and when my top end needed to be done I figured what the hell, why not go ahead and splurge for the pipes too and get started. But you know what they say, great minds think alike! I had pm'd stclark about those cylinders, but unfortunately I was too late. I knew they wouldn't last long once he said he was selling them. You're gonna have to post what you think of that ignition, I'm hearing more often about people running them, and am curious to see what kind of benefits you'll gain from adding it. I know what you mean about the jets, I'm wishing they made a 285 main jet. Right now I think a 290 would be too rich and would give the same condition you were describing. I guess I could always *bore* out a set of 280's... I think the 40 rear sprocket is gonna be the ticket on my setup. I really like the way the 15 tooth helped lengthen the gears, but I'm thinking taking away a tooth in the rear would give it that little extra quickness shee needs
  4. I would aim for 300, maybe 310 on the mains depending the extent of the porting, and a 27.5 pilot jet. My T5's like the needle clip on the second clip from the blunt end. That would be my starting point.
  5. It comes with a special flux pipe that fits the flux capacitor in between the two pipes, which creates a "turbo effect". The dyno sheets are unreal, HP off the charts. I'm gonna sell my banshee soon so I can buy the new flux capacitated banshee.
  6. For an extra 500 you can have the flux capacitor added. (New feature ONLY for the 06) Buy you some plutonium and you'll be pushin 1.21 jigawatts through the plugs
  7. lol, I did the same thing I'll have the pro flow for the foam filter for sale this weekend
  8. I was gonna say damn near the same thing as RNBRAD....he said it better though
  9. It IS amazing what 2 teeth on a sprocket will do for you, as long as you have the right combination to pull it. Thanks again guys for the help and support!
  10. Just wanted to update...I changed out my gearing, put the 15 tooth up front and swapped the main jets back to 280. I can feel a hell of a difference now! My issue was definitely in the gearing as well as me shifting too late. With the taller gear on there it's a lot easier to tell when the powerband is fading, hence, time to shift. I really appreciate the help I've been given, it's made a night and day difference on what I think of these pipes. Now it's time to hit the trails this weekend!! Thanks again guys!
  11. I'm not too sure about mixing up the silencers (how they sound) but DG pipes with DG silencers sound very similar to my toomey T5's. I liked the way the DG's pulled, seemed to be the stongest in the mid range. I have no complaints about them, and would probably still have them on my shee if they hadn't rusted up so bad...I think they are a good pipe for the money.
  12. I miss living in Kansas...I used to love the wicked storms you'd see, nothing like that here in Memphis... Weather here has been rainy and just flat out shitty. Thankfully the weather channel is forcasting a week of sunny days after tonight's storm
  13. That's exactly the reason I won't be making it...I'd love to go but after driving for 9 hours to get there, spending most of the night to find a parking spot on the side of the street doesn't sound too appealing I'm gonna try and make the spring break trip to LS
  14. Thanks Banchetta! Well, I wasn't able to make it to 6th but I made it to 5th...I ran out of road in the neighborhood I ran it twice to 5th gear and then shut it off and pulled those plugs. Before I made that run I cut 1.5 inches off the back of my airbox lid like yours and I think that's what made the big difference in the way the plugs look. I'm definitely gonna go up to a 280, maybe a 290 tonight and run it again. I have a 14 tooth gear in the garage, and if the local shop has a 15 tooth I'll pick it up too. I really appreciate everyone's help on this...after I change jets/gearing and pull the plugs again I'll take another pic and let you guys know what the word is....Thanks again!
  15. That makes A LOT of sense actually. I ride nothing but tight trails and climb hills.....that's it. Theroretically these pipes are perfect for the riding I do, but I think I'm gonna have to "re-learn" to ride like you said. For the past two years I've ridden trails with the T5's and have implanted the fact I need to get in the higher RPM to get her moving, and I think that's where my problem is....Right now I'm running 13/41 gearing right now (beacuse of the T5's) and think I might need to bump it up to a 14/41 or maybe even a 15/41. Scott, I really appreciate your help on this...your insight has channeled my thoughts in the right direction now I finally feel confident my problem is not with the jetting, but with the way I'm used to riding....I've got a 14 tooth gear in the garage, I'm gonna change that and learn to shift a little sooner than I was before and see if that helps. Thanks again man!
  16. You, lazy? naaaaaaaaa My issue is that I keep waiting for some top end pull but the pipes just won't allow it. So, I keep leaning it out slowly anticipating some kind of pull but have leaned it out as far as I can without frying anything Don't get me wrong, these pipes hit hard as a mofo on the bottom and have a pretty good pull in the mid, I was just expecting a little top before the power cut out....I really need to just put my mains back to 280 and ride on it more. I've only ridden on them for a couple hours when my pilot was too fat and I could feel it sputter ever so slightly. I love the way they look, but haven't quite been sold on how they perform....I still have my T-5's just in case
  17. lol, thanks Scott! I'll just slap the 280 main back in there and be done with it....
  18. Here ya go...you even replied in it http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37838 Welcome to the HQ
  19. I got an MSR easy pull lever off ebay. I use all the aftermarket clutch springs and without it my arm was wore out in a few minutes. I've seen a few of those RTC levers on ebay and have heard from a few people that they liked them a lot. I think RTC sells a "kit" that comes with an easy pull clutch lever and a matching brake lever. Not 100% on it but I think they do
  20. That's what I was thinking...I'd check that first before you go to all the trouble of cleaning your carbs, etc...
  21. Thanks for the comments guys! I have another question for you...Right now I'm still running a 32:1 mix for "break in", do you think that when I go to my usual 50:1 mix that would give it the little more gas I need to richen it up a tad? Again, I really appreciate the help on this
  22. Supposedly this auction has been talked about worldwide, and some folks are claiming this is an excellent idea Before you know it you're gonna see dumbasses walking around town with logos on their foreheads...
  23. I'm going through the whole process of dialing in my shee with PT mids on it. When I first started, I was running 280 mains, 27.5 pilots and the plugs were wet and almost black after riding on them. So, I dropped the pilot down to a 25, and brought the main down to a 270 and this is what my plugs look like now... I know ideally the plugs should be dry and a nice tan color, but not sure how dark of a tan it's supposed to be. I suppose my question is, do you think they look lean at all to you? I just want some reassurance from the pros on what YOU would do if your plugs looked like these. Thanks!
