  1. is that 75$ for the whole job or per hour? if you got your basic set of tools you could do the job yourself, the only special tool needed is a flywheel puller, the rest is mostly 10/12/14mm bolts and nuts. the only tricky part might be taking the nut off the clutch basket if you dont have a special tool to hold it while you use an impact gun. but the most important tool you will need is a repair manual.........most people like the clymers manuals.
  2. the lastest banshee build, being setup for XC racing and trail riding
  3. dont you guys know that you can order a GYTR battery and cd player on the yamaha webite
  4. I need a used rear sprocket/s, mainly looking for a 43 and/or 44 tooth sprockets, will take both if you got em. doesnt matter how worn out they are or if they are missing teeth (cant use em if they are bent though). just sent me a pm if you got anything I could use and a reasonable price for em. Im planning on using one of the sprockets for a bolt-on sprocket guard like the alot of 450's use in XC racing and stuff.
  5. wow thanks for the extra info for this thread meat. you know, I never thought about making the sprocket guard have "teeth", the first thing I think of the sprocket guard protecting against is hitting rocks and stuff, and I figured the teeth would probably break off or something from hitting rocks. but when I try and ride fast through rough rocky sections, I pick my lines so that I dont high side and bottom out on the spricket/brake disc, and if its really big rocks, I slow down enough to where I wont break nothing if I do hit/scrape the rear end. I think what im gonna try is get about a 43 or 44t sprocket and bolt it on the inside of the sprocket hub and try it out for a sprocket guard. all I gotta do is remove the studs from the hub and use some longer bolts and nuts. if anybody has a worn out old rear sprocket they'd like to sell cheap send me a pm. I got a 41T on mine, so I probably need a 43 or 44T to be big enough.
  6. oh nevermind.......I see that guy that makes those is from south africa.....oh well
  7. wow thanks man, thats EXACTLY what im talking about. I may be ordering me one of those here soon before racing season. only thing is I cant find a price on it?
  8. Im running the razr ballance tires and they hook up unlike any other tire in its catogory. heres a little video of em in action, , I used em in the 09 ironman gncc race and they got me the holeshot. if you want traction get these tires. and i'd say the kenda kutters would hook up similar to the ballance tires since they have close to the same knob spacing. the the standard razr tires are good aswell for a all-around trail tire.
  9. im surprised no one has mentioned the gearing calculater.... .....I dont know the direct link to it but its on here somewhere. BigMatt, do you run a rear skid plate? cause a 46t sprocket is pretty good size from the stock 41, and a skidplate probably wouldnt even bolt up. if you got alot of rutted out trails with any rocks anr stuff like that it could put a whoopin of your chain sprocket with it hangin that low. but if not then you dont have to worry about it. and just for reference, 3 teeth in the back equal 1 in the front.
  10. i'd recommend a small, gasless flux-cored wire welder. they can range from cheap (around 150$) to fairly expensive (350-450$) we got a lincoln electric procore 100, bought it several years ago at a LOWES store for around 350$ brand new, still welds like a top. its a small welder that you can weld some really thin shit with, great for car exhausts and welding on atv frames aswell. the wire cost about 8-10$ for a 1 lb roll, not to bad if you just use it for repairs and stuff every once and a while, then it will last a long time.
  11. Ive done that several times. it does help alot but its not a permanit solution. it works best if you take the rear fenders off and set em out side on a warm sunny day with the bungee cord trick. if its hot enough outside, your fenders will flex a little better and hold its shape longer.
  12. yea that would be nice if you could use some yfz450 parts on the banshee rear end...........might be possible?? someone with a roundhouse might try a yfz450 carrier, sprocket hub and rear brake setup and see if the chain/sprocket would line up correctly. if it did, that would be a badass setup since you can run a smaller rear sprocket and the rear brake rotor is a alot smaller than the banshee's.........that would give some nice ground clearance. and I did a little bit of test fitting, and it would be possibe to make and use a sprocket guard for the banshee hub. you could use an old sprocket for the guard and mount it on the other side of the sprocket hub (against the carrier) I checked it and you would have enough clearance with the 2 big carrier bolts. all you would have to do is remove the studs from the hub and use longer bolts.
  13. I like "stuk in 3rd" and "2 out of 3" except with a question mark. would be funny shit when racing a bunch of 4pokes
  14. pm sent on this skidplate
  15. well the sprocket guard im talking about is the round disc that bolts onto the side of the sprocket/hub. the other skid plate is just a guard for the brake rotor. this sprocket guard setup is the hot ticket for XC racing. since most people run a setup like this, they got more ground clearance than guys with regular skid plates, and toward the end of a 2 hr xc race, the ruts are so deep that guys with regular skidplates get hung up very easy.
  16. I have not seen one for the banshee, but almost all the ones ive seen are for the 450's (the one pictured is on a 400ex) the thing about the sprocket guard is that it helps give you more ground clearance while still protecting the chain. My skid plate has got me hung up several times in rutted trails, and it hugs about as close as it can get to the sprocket and brake disc.
  17. does anybody know if there is a sprocket guard like one of these made for the banshee? if not then somebody should consider making some.
  18. Im running yfz450 front calipers and master cylinder too...........I got 1 finger braking .Its night and days difference in the feel at the lever and stopping distance compared to the banshee brakes. and yea the calipers bolt straight up to the stock spindles.
  19. I got a set of these tires on my bike right now, heres a little video of how good these tires hook. also got me the holeshot at the ironman gncc only reason I got these tires is cause I got em dirt cheap, no way I would pay 90-100$ for em like they list for new. they are a mean tire with huge durable lugs and good spacing. a little more aggressive then the ITP holeshot gncc tires.
  20. I ran a single carb setup for a little while. it was a 35mm air stryker and trinity intake. it was deffinatly alot easier to jet since it was one carb, and didnt have to worry about sync'ing the carbs either. the thumb throttle was alot easier too. only bad parts were it took away from the topend power some, and you had to be carefull of long, WOT runs cause if would feel like it was running out fuel after too long.

  22. some people say it does matter if the rear is bigger than the front tire that it will handle funny. if you are going to go with some tall rear tires, I would suggest getting some taller front tires as well, like 23's or 22's at the least. that way it wont look like a tractor, and you will gain a couple inches of ground clearance too. what kind of tires did you have in mind?
  23. nice review on that engine setup. have you done any tight woods or trail riding to see how it performs? and about how would you describe the powerband compared to a average piped/stock port engine, like a smoother powerband or more agressive hit just earlier in the rpms? would love to see some videos of the bike in action too.
  24. lol dont worry, it was warmed up good before I did that. if it was cold it would spit and sputter and smoke bad if I took off like that.
  25. heres how I start my banshee
