Im thinkin no. 285534[/snapback] When I bought my 97 Shee about three years ago I ran a 400 ex bored to a 440 which had an aftermarket rev limiter. I had stock dunlops at that time, An old DG pipe and K&N filter and jetted stock carbs at 280, All my other stuff was stock. I started in 2nd as a launch,..he ate me off the line by 15ft but once third gear hit hard he was toast, ...I never looked back at him once I passed, I just kept slammin gears like he was on my back. When the race was over I turned around to see him still behind me by an unbelieveable distance. I often thought about that race and wandered what the distance would have been if I had a tire with better traction. He was always a better drag race than I, so this really played hard on me at the line. My Shee brought me through it.

Good point...I'm gonna hold off to see if any port work needs done or whatever. I hate spending on things that can't be used. My 97 as far as I know has never had port work or rebuild of any kind....What are some signs of port work needed?

Hey Everyone, I have been thinking about carb changing and need your input. I run 26mm stock carbs on my banshee right now and have found some 28mm PWK Air strikers (new). My motor hasnt been built up with mods except for a coolhead w/22cc and stock reeds right now. My signature shows some engine add ons that are on my bike at this moment in the performance side. Your inputs are always valued. Is this 28mm really gonna help me that much,...I dont want to put a bigger carb that what I really need. I like the 28mm for the straight up pull on the choke set up. I never messed with a carb setup other than the stock and the 28mm has a choke on each carb. klotzban1

I agree..... the Shee looks great the way it is. They should do something that will keep the banshee lineup in production. Even if they changed the motor to a full blown 4 stroke version there will only be ONE Twin Screamer. I love the stance and layed back ergonomics of the Shee...its comfortable and doesnt make you feel like your halfway over the bars. I know that Yamaha probably has people watching and listening to the banshee crowds. They held a survey to see what colors people loved the best on these things so there has to be something coming that might take the quad world at a shock.....LOOK OUT HONDA!!!! YAMAHA Engineering.....If your listening on the HQ.......Banshees have sold for a long time and still sell today even though the YFZ450 has made its appearence. If you can make a fourstroke fly........You can find a way to keep improving the Shee to keep it in your lineup. I rode alot of different quads and the Banshee will be my $ spent everytime I want to buy a quad.

I agree with all of you....When I heard this it made me wander if this must be another way the enviromentalists are try to rid the quad world of the SHEE. I hope there isnt someone at this momment trying to invent something to gradually destroy the motors slowly.

Ok here is what I have....I want to keep me shee alive and hate to damage her in anyway. My Banshee I did some cutting work on my Airbox awhile back and now I run an open K&N filter with outerwear hooked to a K&N Pro Flow adapter with an O ring mounted to the stock front plate of my airbox. Looks trick!! My front plate of the airbox still fits over the hooks on the frame. It seems pretty solid and doesnt seem to stress the carbs any. What I'm wanting to ask you all is....On Banshees ...Is it better to run 1 K&N filter for both carbs to breath out of or should I use a two filter setup? If I run two filters .....Are they smaller than the One K&N set up? Thanks ahead

That guy should have researched Banshees before posting his ad. lol....It would have been even worse with the new DUCK billed plastic that they came out with for Shees.
