its safe ,i pressure wash mine then i dry them good.it makes them clean to work with.
-
exactly what i was thinking.lol.
-
not sure about the girl on ps but i'm seriously thinking of doin mine with the pink plastics with red or purple trim.sounds sissy like i know but i think it would look awsome.
-
that'll be cool.i'll be lookin forward to seeing you at the races.where you from?i'm planning on goin to a drag at marion center on 10-22-05 weather permitting.you need to try to go to quad fest 2006 next year.mghty3whlr will be there hopefully with his impressive little 250 zuki.

i agree that was'nt very nice.b knows how hard it is to beat pops and the big reeds.so does anyone who run against me.if i really feel like racing and not playing around ,they can't beat me.when the new season arrives,be prepared to get beat by the old man son.you and brad are gonna need those 10 or 12 or what ever you are going to build.lmao as for the "4 times the performance out of cheetah or cubs "comment,i don't think so.a big cheetah can beat me, but not easily.i'd love to run against some cubs with stock or stroker don't matter and i bet they wont be beating me easily either.

if and when you decide to try to do a big reed conversion, keep me updated if you will.if you have any more questions i will try to answer them if i can.i have to be honest and say that i believe that there is no one that is going to do a big reed conversion that comes any where close to matching ed toomeys.

68mm with stock stroke is a 392
-
stock stroke with a .40 overbore is a 358.thats what mine is now.the formula to figure your motor size is : bore x bore x stroke x no. of cylinders x .7854 devided by 1000
-
a motor with a stock bore of 64mm and a 4 mil stroker crank would be a 373cc motor. 65mm with a 4 mil stroker crank is a 385. . 66mm [80 over] +4 mil =397cc 68mm blaster pistons+4 mil stroker=421cc

andy at grand river builds a great swingarm.chromoly and he stands behind them.

i run a big reed conversion.it was done by Ed Toomey [now retired] and Ross Baron Racing [out of business since around 2000] back in 1997.i run cr125 reeds in my jugs and yes it was a high cost mod back then .not sure who all does it now a days.andy at grand river does a conversion yet i think but not sure.it took him around 24 hours work time to do the cylinder work and 5 hours of work on the head mod.as for hp and torque gains,it was set up with a stock crank that was trued and welded,34pj's,t5 pipes and stock ignition with an adjustable timing plate.it put out 75 hp and 48 ft lbs of torque.it runs a quite bit different than a regular shee drag engine.it is a very smooth power.it comes on smooth off the line and continuously makes power.i must however run race fuel with 108 octane or higher or alky because it will only run on one cylinder if i don't. could never figure out why it drops the one cylinder on pump gas.i have raced many 4 mil strokers at the drags both small and big bore and have beaten more of them than not.i can almost gaurentee you won't find anyone who will do a big reed conversion to match the quality of craftsmanship that toomey put into his conversions.few people have seen a big reed conversion and fewer have seen one run.i can honestly say anyone who has ran against me with a stroker motor or any shee motor has been very impressed.do a search and type in big reed conversion and there is some pics of my cylinders on here.

i run 35pwk airstrykers and it idles fine with no mods to springs or cables after i got the pilots right.i run 40 pilots ,140 mains and dek needles.i'm at around 3000ft so i'm sure my jetting and such will be different than yours but you could try to go down or up a size or two on your pilots and try it.i had regular pwk's and these airstrykers were a bit different on the jetting than the regular pwk's.

Building a drag motor for 1500 or less
blueshee03 replied to JohnZ's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
you could shoot "passionre" a pm and talk to him.Jim's a great guy to talk to and he would be more than happy to help with any advice you need .he also builds some great running motors and probally has the best prices you'll find on porting, cubs or what ever you need. -
96 mph in 300ft of sand is very impressive. TRIPLE and the guys at planet sand don't play around they get it done and they get it done fast.
-
that triple is sweeeeet.what motor is that?theres two quads that started life as "zillas"here at the dirt drags i run and now they have 1000 arctic cat engines on them and the one is even 4 wheel drive.they fabbed the front end of the 4 wheel drive one from the front axles from a ford fesiva.the way they are now they are putting out 225 hp and 250 hp.they are gonna put either nos or turbos on them for next season.
-
lets just say "you guys would be very amazed and surpized ".i have beaten many 4 mil strokers,4mil big bore strokers ,a few 7 mil strokers and even a 10 mil or two.my big reed toomey motor with stock crank is already putting out in most cases more horses and torque than most 4 mill motors ,ed toomey knew his shit.b's passion motor is very hard to beat,if you don't get him in the first 60 ft you ain't gonna beat him.i ran the Passion x3 last week at the dirt drags [500ft] .i ran a best of 5.8 seconds and worse 6.2. and made every run using only 1st,2nd and third gears with a 16-38 sprocket combo.b has a strut and 8 over swingarm on his shee and i could'nt hold full wide open throttle the whole 500ft.
-
rocket used to make out of frame pipes and the rocket pipes and a few others look very much like a copy of grr pipes to me.suprrat is a member over at planet sand.i have dealt with him and had no problems.
-
i have to agree on that.in my oppinion Jim is right up there with the top engine builders.he may not be as well known ,but knows just as much or in some cases more when it comes to makin a shee scream.he's a great guy to talk and deal with.he's not a pushy smart ass like some.
-
wish i were close ,i'd be there.would love to whoop a couple of you guys with my stock cylinder, stock stroke,40 over bore big reed.lol
-
talk to passionre on here or give him a call 918-232-3950,Jim does fantastic work and one of the nicest guys you will find to talk to.i'm sure he can help you decide what kind of power and money you want to put into your motor.
-
like b said if the weather permits we'll be there.i'm looking to see that "zuki" run again at "quadfest 2006" joe.
-
