the jug with more compression will show a little less burn, than the other......twin 2 cycle engines act like that...... after you get the new head installed shoot for getting a compression tester, if you have say 10 psi diff in the 2 jugs then you'll know its time for a rebuild....the single carb shouldnt matter.......Snap On makes a nice tester around 100 bucks, or you can get a decent one at sears.....you might aslo wanna use a smaller rachet with a 12mm on it and go around your pattern up to ten times just snugging the lugs, then torque it...if you dont have a torque wrench go as many times as it takes but keep in mind those studs are soft and can snap......i change the domes in my noss head all the time and dont have a leak and have never snapped a stud....just take your time and dont over tighten any one bolt......

yeah its seedy........but you love the attention...typical of a chick...

candle holders..... Duece- you live in Death Valley??? otis i live at the top of the cajon pass off interstate 15, right next to the begining of highway 395.....60 miles across the desert to dumont about 90 to death valley.....and about 275 to beautiful downtown Las Vegas

LMFAO DEUCE!!! hehehehe....stock jugs. i couldnt help myself Stan.....you know me
-
dirt girl im in cali where you can only get 91 octane and its loaded with an aditive (mtbe) and ran my noss head with 20cc domes at 500 feet below sea level..you sure dont need race fuel with 21's at any elevation.....my highest compression with 20's was 150 psi, and like i said in death valley california 500 ft below sea level, who evers saying run race fuel on 21's is mistaken.....this is providing your running stock jugs, which i asume you are since you havnt posted pics of your new boob job yet.......
-
Stan i think you might want to shoot for a diaper indorsement, at least thats what ive done, im waiting on my "huggies" grafics to arrive......and i dont have to worry about my testicles they are tucked safely away in the wifes purse......

If you have an 80hp Banshee like you say you do then there is no realing them in on pavement... my gearing and horse power will allow me to pull gears that will propel me to over 100mph and his bike tops out upper 70's so do the math on the gearing....on pavment i can real him in like a fish, because of my tall gearing and horse power, ever ride a rd or rz street bike? but in the dirt you gotta get it to the ground to win a drag....
-
like i said tall as you can and still pull fifth....if i thought you were an idiot id let ya know
-
thats excactly what im sayin.........and if everyone will read back i said geared lower.ie. a 15 up front the yz is right next to me and if i dont get the jump he wins in a 300 footer, geared tall i can be a few bikes out front but again if i dont hook he wins, no other 4 stroke i drag stays that close. ....i can give raptors and ex's a head start, and win......and like i said on the track or in an long open race they are winning, there tight and plush, and pull like mad beefed they really haul ass.....on the street i can beat him cause my gearing will let me do well over a hundred so i can real him in.....but whos racing up and down there street
-
sorry Gato, Nighty, Walt, but jesus have none of these guys been to, or even watched a quad race?..walt came back from dumont after having riden a new 450 and has a beefed banshee with 17 grand in it, saying "damm that 450 rips" .....my she's got 80+ ponies, 2000 in suspension and i race it mx and desert and im riding and looseing to new 450's going " damm that 450 flys and you can hang on to it" ...were not dising our banshee's (you notice neither of ours are for sale) but fucck, the fact is the new 450 is a quick bike and can beat a banshee, if we were going for 5 mile pavment shots down the interstate, a honda civic would win, making the 450 and the shee turds, theese guys with pipes and air cleaners dont know what fast is, try almost trippling your stock horse power, and coming from a guy whos riding a goddamm fast banshee that 450 is a nice clean tight bike, with some cash and some balls youd be hard as fucck to catch.....
-
half of you idiots are morons and NONE of you have raced a banshee in ANY compition let alone a sanctioned national, when one of you idiots starts grabbing first's on your banshee post back.... until then get on my nuts......Walt, f*ck trying to reason with retards......
-
man thats a mess guy, when ya cut corners on the cash you usually end up screwed... thats a wacky alignment 15 degrees of camber is quite a bit, thats a high speed death trap someones riding, i would try to have the guy make it right, or bust out the welder.....
-
something else you might wanna check is if when you compress the bike and then let go, like if you jump on your bumber then get off, take a small tape measure and check to see if the measurement from the spring to shaft is the same all the way around i.e. if the spring compresses and is bowing away from the shaft, it will squeak, and thats how guys snap the shafts on works shocks, the spring should stay centered around the shaft after traveling, the fix is a much stiffer sping with your preload set all the way up, works are notorious for light springs with cranked preload for ride height..if you ordered shocks from works and said you weigh 250, and then a different order for a guy weighing 150 you both have the same gage spring but the heavy guys preload would be cranked..thats the kinda stuff that makes the premium shocks more cash and the works less expensive......not to piss on your parade mind you
-
........... my email to him......."theres no way in hell that bikes doing 120mph in a 1/4 mile, maybe with a sail and a nice wind....... and dont tell me you clocked it and im full of crap either"....
-
hows the preload? sometimes when there sloppy they rattle and squeak id say grease them up and spin the springs sometimes that will shut them up.......
-
if your dragging pals id go tall as i can pull through 5th, you wont need 6th.......paddles in a feild?......the only problem with gearing jims motor low is, it will get there a pinch quicker with the same gearing as your buddy becuase of its lowend horsepower, but in a long straight you gear it tall and you'll pull each gear to the moon and beat most bikes by several lengths......if you had a 500 hp dragster and a 50 horse honda civic geared the same the 500 horses would get there quicker yet go no faster? but geared tall the dragster would do 200 mph before the civic hit 60mph
-
that would be nice but i think the geomitry of the shee is way off for track racing...maybe not like a speedway or flattrack race, but for like a moto or a baja type race, the banshee is lacking, the after market frames, like the lobo or lsr are still kinda best suited for open riding, and the weight kills you on a long open race, im lucky enough to live and ride in the socal high desert (real close to dumont) and i see these bikes alot in sand and moto's (theres four ama tracks twenty minutes in either direction from my house) at some point technoligy takes over, i try to do 45 minutes straight across the desert on my shee and im wrecked, just fuckin worked, and i have good suspension..yet a buddy on a 450 with the same shocks is whistling across the desert an hour into it, we trade bikes and im playing riding that little light 450, then we pull over and he says "give me my bike back, your shees kicking my ass"..but damm the 2 cycle feel is soooo fun, ive always said if your in a situation where you have the option of shutting down i.e. rec riding, the banshee is incredible, but if your gonna race, you need to win, if you have to bust out a skateboard it doesnt matter a cool shee coming in last verses a guy on a 450 whos getting the win......again im a banshee owner who will allways be in this "cult" but im going to do what i have to, to smoke the guys im racing, if that means switching bikes, then hey f*ck, thats what ill do......it wont make me a sell out...... it will make me the guy in front.......
-
maybe just go all out, send jim the wholle motor right up to your throttle cable.....call him first send a deposit and kinda make an appointment, 2 weeks later you'll be riding a real fast bike and it will be loads of fun.....
-
thank you walt..i think we are both open minded banshee owners who have sunk thousands of dollars into our bikes ..i just love my shee's but that little 450 rocks..its just that simple...i know for a fact if i had a 450 and put 12 grand into it theres no fuckin banshee that would touch me....i mean im racing these guys .....that little bike flys....its sad but true.....a banshee is way old school technoligy..when im blowing through an 1/8 mile of whoops and a 450 passes me in them, im like "hey what the f*ck"...then we hit some straights i can real him in...but if he was pulling 80 horses hed be a ghost....and these guys on here that claim they are beating those 450's with pipes and an air cleaner are sooooo full of shit...i dont see my self as a sell out..im just a guy racing a bansee trying to place...and all im saying is that 450 is a hard bike to beat, if i race next season you'll see me riding a new yzf-450 or the new honda.....cause i dont give a flying f*ck what anyone says, on a moto track its all about placeing, not...."IM BAD IM ON A BANSHEE", its about not having your ass handed to you.....
-
try one of these i can let go of my bars pinned in sixth........there 475 bucks....but auto pilot for the shee
-
my banshee has 12 grand in motor, chassis and suspension mods plus the price of the bike, so im at about 17,500....if i gear it 15/41 and race a 450 with a pipe and top end mods, hes right next to me in a 300 footer and if i dont get the jump he smokes me......geared 17/40 i can beat him by 2-3 bike lengths in 300 feet, again if im hooking.....so to who ever has a piped shee that doesnt have a good 80 horse the piped 450 is faster, and a banshee with a pipe aint pulling a 17 no way in hell....its really easy to claim your 45 horsepowered banshee is smokin a yzf-450, but im racing them and they will completely walk from a banshee mod for mod......and Walter nor myself are sell outs, we are just calling it as we see it, rather than just claiming the the yz is a peice of shit.....and i will agree theres not a better feeling than haveing a 80+ ponied banshee rip your arms off, but truth be told the yz is a great bike, and fast as f*ck on a mx track or open desert....maybe watch some pro's race and see whos beatin who and on what
-
banshees have head shake at high speeds................ you didnt mention it veared ..just shook, so alignments probally cool......a good stabilizer and you can let go of the bars at 80mph.......
