Another Question On My Passion Engine
Blue Duece replied to got1banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
yeah i would, i think your dead on..... the delta reeds will be way better, then lets start judgeing the fattys, cause my bike flys with a pro circuit which is restrictive you would think, the cpi inframes would be my only choice for another pipe since im a fraid id be just moving my power band around with any other pipe, and then theres the what if the cpi's take bottom and add top? as maybe the fmf is doing -
Got1......id try them first.....the reason you want the cpi inframes is cause its a fact they will get ya 5-10 ponies over any other pipe you put on that motor.........think twice buy once.........talk to jim he built that motor, you could mess around and end up in the same boat your in, just lookin out for a fellow Passion Engine owner....no offence to anyones pipes....if rays a dealer for rockets, maybe he has a beat up demo set, you pay shipping try them, you like you buy?.....

Another Question On My Passion Engine

I took the silencers and air cleaner off and it still ran good there was just a little less power. Not much but a little less. the reason i asked you to ride it without the air cleaner and stingers was to see if it ran better with no air cleaner,if so, clean and oil your filter and adjust for more air .......on the pipe side if your silencer is creating to much back presure the exaust needs to breath more, hence a pipe that flows better or a largger dia. silencer....maybe Ray can let you demo a used set of those pipes...you like you buy, sorta thing -
I Give Up Banshee's= Garbage !
Blue Duece replied to shellbyzfan33's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i think you just got a lemon as well, i race alot or R's and have several other hondas, there a good bike, but done up right a shee will hang with and smoke R's on a track, and for open riding the shee will pound the R, not to disrespect the R's they are great bikes, but if you rode a fast banshee youd know what i mean, your bike sounds like its just shitty, i got a set of good stock carbs with the tors removed, those and some decent reeds and ill bet it would run good, and a cdi can just go out, either it works or it dont, the cool head had absoulutly nothing to do with any of the problems you mentioned so changing it was a waste of time......try starting a new thread and say "Help ive got a 01 that keeps breakin"......not "Banshees are peices of shit"....because your talking to a bunch of guys who have fast ones and have had good luck with them......hope you get it goin, because unless your just racing MX only you will miss out on alot of fun that the R just cant provide..... -

i think its between your pipes and reeds, the 20cc domes are cool, i run a 19 but we could both run 17's, wish i had a extra set of deltas sitting around id send them to you, chances are you dont have an air leak with that intake, but as proquad said, that would do it also, ive ran fmf's but never on jims motor so i cant say for sure its the pipe, i know my pc's prefer the spark arrestor stinger over the standard silencer, the standard silencer is smaller and doesnt flow as well, if proquad is running a 172 and your both at the same elevation, and its not starving for air, maybe the pilots to tall? i run a 50 pilot, didnt you say you were at 55, piliots are cheap, but like proquad said once you do get it right it should just jump right into the power band with no hesitation and pull right to the top, make sure your carbs are in sync as well that will help it rev also, my plugs look at little wet also so i leaned it out and it didnt run as strong, that motor wants fuel and air, do any of your pals have a shee with any other kinda pipe you can try?.....id allmost bet its reeds and a simple tweak.....if you live close to jim and proquad, maybe show up with your bike some beer and some steaks....... -

Hey guy what are you using for an intake and reeds? the fattys really might not be letting it kick in from idle, ride it once with no silencer or air cleaner if you can, just bang it up the block and back see if it pulls harder or coughs, it would be hard to pull two chokes to see if it picks up or gags...... whats your air box config? hows it rev with no load on it? i know its hard to idle but can you be at about 1100 rpm and crack it and have it jump on real crisp? what fuel, i use 118 race fuel, not pump mixed with 108, you could run 17cc domes and get more bottom, i presume we have the same crank? with my 17/40 gearing i can get off the line in second in the dirt and slap the clutch after about 6000 rpm and loop it if im not careful that motor should accelerate that bike like a rocket geared tall, did the guy you race have a 15 up front, was it on the street or dirt? in the dirt your really need a shorter swing arm, the more power the less the hook so you now have to accomadate your suspension and chassis when i ride with guys with 15's there not far behind in the dirt because whats getting to the ground is whats propelling you, your advantage is that you can run a 17 or even an 18 and hook well, and pull the shit out of it but your chassis and suspension has everything to do with how you hook and how well does it stay planted to the terrain, in the street with a tall gear you find you can just real the other guy in like a fish, because youve removed traction from the equasion but geared the same your horse power would be wasted, in the dirt your 80 ponies would break that 15/41 loose everytime you blipped the throttle, but your buddies 15 and 50 hp is less apt to smoke his tires, but hook and therefore accerate, and of course some skill is envolved, i trade off with my pals when we ride, my friends have all riddin my bike and ive riddin theres, you can just feel the power of jims engine, but that doesnt mean i can just whoop them like there standing still, but i do have very good lift from having the chassis and engine mods, your buddy might very well smoke me on an mx track yet in a 3 mile pavment run out to our dirt track i smoked him by 1200 feet cause i can do over 100mph and he's out of steam in the low 80's if we arnt into the wind, then 75 for him but i can accelerate through it......... so you do have a good motor, we just need to get it dialed in for you.... -
once you've gone Mac you wont go back, no pesky microsoft bullshit pissing on your parade, constantly........Mac may only hold 15% of the market, but it's the upper 15%.....

Which Of These 2 Tires Are A Better Choice?
Blue Duece replied to SyNtAxx's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i like the razors up front and the wholeshot for the rear.......my front end doesnt pack with the gap between the razors tread and the wholeshots hook nice -
try them deltas on low banch that could be the ticket, there's a high low setting on them, deltas web site might have a pic?....... on my airbox i cut the tool box out and as you know the bottle sits on pins on the end of the air box.... and yes, i zip tied it to the frame and on the back where you see the deck plastics overlap the bottle slightly.... in the pic you see the bottle zip tied, but ive since drove a selftapping screw through the deck and into the bottle to secure it, i no longer have a tool box but.......it did come out nice and maintained my air box..... some friends thought i should go dual K&N's but man without the box theres a large dust issue......and i cut the little metal arms off with a small die grinder(my tribute to american chopper) the zips hold real nice, jim sent me these big long tubes with my setup and i just couldnt find a way to scoot my air box back 3.5 inches that was just way to much and DID NOT want to wack my box open, so close to my rear tires....... and in the fine dust i ride in........ so what i did was put the box where i wanted it and then cut the connector tubes accordingly from my air box to carbs and it turned out to be an inch and a half, i am wondering how you got such a low hp reading out of a stroked ported setup though....you would think youd be at 75hp or better?........good luck guy im sure you will iron it out, and man youve givin me so many great tips from suspension to chassis and jetting, im honered to finally be of some help to you.......jim

another shot
-
or get rid of the toolbox.....my intake tubes are an inch and a half, i cut the long ones jim sent down to make it work, my bike has no flat spots anywhere in the power band...
-
id try a different pipe also, im sure youd be able to at least rule out the turners as the culprit, my pro circuits work well with jims motor i am probally just lucky and am sure something like a cpi would give me more gains as well, i have a buddy that was running turners on his stock jugs and his bike ran great, then he had rudy kurtz do his motor and now runs sst's with great results id like to borrow his ptr's and see how they run on my bike

ill sell ya mine for 10 grand........

salute.....

a 15 wont but a 16 and up will......
-
thats what id do also swapping the rear around is a pain in the ass, and taller fronts pull harder than smaller rears for some strange reason, with a 15/41 or 40 you should be able to jump the gate in second pull third and damm near leave it there and like monsta said just fan your clutch as needed, ive always practiced to a clock, so i can see faster times with taller gears, way less spin, greater acceleration, low gears float a 2cycle engine, geared to low your upper top end will just hang, geared tall it will pull till it explodes
-
its just sprung and valved, still seams a bit spungy compared to the elka dual rate, i never knew you could turn a stocker into a ssd, i have a few different primary and secondary springs for my fronts and rear so i can mix them up for different terrains
-
smaller tires require taller gearing for the same result...go 38/15 and if that dont work well try the 14
-
3 teeth in the rear equil 1 up front....id go 15/41 or 16/41 if you can pull it, for mx you want hook and acceleration with 20" rear tires the 15/41 is a good combo, i run a 17/40 with some horsepower and cant get past third on short tracks so im ten teeth taller than stock.....
-
you do need larger fuel lines and a decent tee instead of the stock dia. lines....36's does sound a little steep, ive always found a smaller carb jetted fat works better than a larger carb choked off.....i use a 50 pilot on 34's with a pretty fuel savy port also and its real crisp from idle on up......what are you using for an intake? and reeds?...heres a shot of how i set mine up....
-
im with boon, if you start raising the compression its a must also......and if it does seperate your party's over......

Who Races With Out Nerfs In Mx On A Shee?
Blue Duece replied to sheerider4life's topic in General Banshee Discussion
none of the socal tracks will let you either, they save your ass when getting teeboned or locking up in corners with other riders -
i just went and looked at mine on my 02 they are welded...dudes dead on if that connection breaks its over, the wheel would turn into a ski........
-
if you got extended rods that would cause that problem.....heres how i do an alignment, since your just going for toe its real easy, first i use tie downs to come of my rear bumber to my bars and cinch my bars off real straight, then i take of both tie rods off at the ball joint, the left handed thread is better at the stem, with one rod off set the oppisite wheel with the tie rod, leaving about a 16th toe in (the wheel will be slightly pointed twards the bikes nose) then set up the other side the same way, shake the tires and cinch the 12mm bolts on the rods up snug, release the tie downs and you should have no slop in your stearing, it will track good and straight and as you accelerate the 1/8 inch of toe in overall will spread to dead center and at 70 mph you should have little to no head shake
