You have a great way of putting shit PRO, you just crack me up i dont see how guys can get a template and try to port there own jugs, its like doing your own heart surgury......jims probally fucked up more juggs learning to port than most of the guys in shops have done, jims porting goes back to the old Rd series Yamahas, way before quads were invented, stop by trinity some time and you'll see a high school kid in the back whacking away at cylinders, guys like yourself can really comment on passion's motor, where i ride theres to many obsticles to hold my bike pinned for any length of time, theres a golf course out here in the desert about a mile from my house, one day id like to take my plastics off, put on a ski mask and go hit that bitch, racing flat track has to be a real blast, the hardest part of riding jims motor is hanging on to the thing.....
  4. theres several guys in my area with port magic strokers, that are real fast.....mines got more grunt, rudys motors dont seem to come off idle like mine does, jims porting is better in my opinion, i can be going 5mph in second and punch it, no clutching, and stand it damm near on end, and thats geared 17/40....geared 15 or 14/41 my first and second gear are almost useless......installing the crank is a no brainer, its haveing ported for 25 years, knowing whats to much, not enough and how your porting is effecting the engine, jim welds more mass to your intakes, in a drag, especially on pavement, you can really compare them nice, jims motors will pull real tall gearing from way down low, most guys stroked are still fanning there clutches, not that their bikes dont fly but jims got a real good formula for getting great bottom and still have that insane pull on the higher side of the rpm range, but in my opnion its all in the port work ask guys on here with his port work that dont have a stroker....

  6. if you look in the box jim shipped your jugs in you find a trial size sample of "Imodium a.d." if you take 2 of those pills before you ride you wont need diapers, i thought he sent them with my motor by mistake, until i rode it..
  7. i wanted him to bondo the welds, and paid him extra for it, compare that arm to the looks of one where you can see the bead of the weld, the bondo makes the arm look like one peice, matts a great welder, but nobody can weld and make it look like they didnt, it just makes it look seamless..he charges 100 bucks to shorten your stock arm, the finish is up to you

But hey, I got some nifty Duncan stickers out of the deal. yeah but duncan is a elka dealer and uses them exclusively on there quads, i forgot about that.....but rather than some shmoe on ebay hawking elkas id go to elka(or duncan) might as well just call eric, when i ordered mine we chatted for a half hour about what i needed from my shocks, erics a knowledgable guy, very good service also
  9. great glad to help..and i think you'll find david at noss a great guy to buy banshee goodies from......if you have any problem he will jump through hoops to see your taken care of......follow the torque pattern on your stock head and use some good clean grease on the orings when you install them, go around your head ten times if need be with a smaller ratchet that doesnt have a lot of leverage and just snug it up before just torqueing each nut to 20 pounds, and that head will never leak, he machines them real nice......
  10. i think you'll like the elkas, the rezzie is nice to have, but you wont heat the none rezzy unless your hauling ass for long periods, your buddys works are soft so when putting he will soak it up a little better but as you accelarate side by side over whoops, youll blow right by him, elkas ssd design is real nice also, and your right, go right to eric at elka no sense having a middle man screw things up......ask eric for a nice elka tee-shirt with your order......
  11. i was safe with 20's on stock juggs in death valley at 500 feet below sea level and im in cali we only get 91 octane...21's would be good and safe anywhere

  13. yeah im sure not pointing the finger, and not being high is for the better, being a abuser is not the same as being a user..i think the hardest thing ive ever done is quit smoking cigarettes, them frickin nasty bastards, they are like herion or worse.......but back to the topic, being sharp enough to pilot a plane deserves some respect and we all relax in our own ways, i myself enjoy riding my banshee, ive been high and ive been drunk, bottom line we all have to get up in the morning and do what we do or we are indeed loosers, drugs or not.....
  14. man i hope this doesnt mean me BD. i have done plenty of shit so far in my life, drugs were just never one of them. i guess i dont consider myself a guy you would have to watch out for. well your not 40 years old either.....sooner or later you'll come home from work and crack a beer before dinner, or just maybe work out 3 hours a day, somewhere sometime, you'll have a little habit you enjoy....im 43 and didnt have my first beer till i was 33, i just hated the taste of it, then one day bingo i enjoyed a cold one before dinner, my wife couldnt put onions on anything i ate, now if my pizza doesnt have jalipino's i dont want it....i know first hand what its like to not be high and whats its like to be stoned, neither have affected my drive or ambition, my father in law launched the appollo missions for NASA and would come home and puff a jay just to deal with my bitchy mother in law, he can do the math on a peice of paper that will put a rocket within 40 yards of a target a million miles away..... all in all a pretty sharp dude, i think we all cope with life in different ways.......puffin a jay is pretty harmless, unless you turn it into something its not....and i think you hit it on the head saying youve done plenty of shit just not drugs, thats great...but in collage bill gates smoked more weed than carter has pills, and he's got more cash than god.......

  16. i think anything you do for ten years is hard to quit doing..... if you take street "A" to the freeway every day on the way to work, taking street "B" is now a drastic change.... we are all creatures of habit..it all boils down to how much you are willing to let a vise effect your life.....ive meet peolple that will do a line every couple of months for the hell of it, i remeber 20 years ago smoking a half ounce of indo a day and still running my business, i would be in the studio and an artist would have a few ounces of coke they were sniffing and i could pass, cause i never aquired a taste for jibbing on powder, but ive done coke and just dont dig the high, there are plenty of worthless dudes in this world, that dont do drugs, being a looser is a state of mind, throughout history some of our founding forefathers did plenty of shit, i think the guy who doesnt do anything is the guy you need to look out for...............

Ive followed your posts since you first joined the HQ Bill, im glad your to the point where you can ride, I agree with Meat, I think you should find some nice flat stuff and cruise around, your bike wont mind, go out and watch the younger guys haul ass, then if you sell your bike it wont be because it got the best of you, and some mellow riding will help build the muscles in your back and mentally make you feel better, if fate is after you, you'll get creamed by a bus walking across the street, maybe someone was looking out for you, thats why your here today, back in 1982 i got hit head on going through an intersection and still wince everytime i go through one, but we sometimes have to face our fears and like evil said you owe it to your loved ones to not do stupid shit that can kill you, but unless you just really dont want to ride at all, then sell your bike, but at least go out and putt around and enjoy cruising, i have a great time just putting around on little trails, whenever im by myself riding i just putt its good for your body and mind to get out and relax, but by all means dont leave the HQ, we all enjoy having you here and i think your misfortune is a good reminder to us all that you can get hurt bad.......good luck guy....

  21. well i think the guys talkin about he puffed a joint......id fly with him way before the guy who legally sucks a fifth of jack daniels down a day, poor bastard hits a jay in january and its still in his system in march, whereas he could shoot an 8ball into his veins on saturday and be clean on wednesday, and IF i had to fly with a drunk, speeder or weed smoker, id go for the guy puffin anyday.....
  22. have the guy stroke it while he's at it? so you wont be flogging the clutch so much in the sand for slower riding, but WOT it should fly, if you have to drop the jetting a couple ticks below the carbs middle jetting point, like if it comes with 180's and your at 170 and dropped the pilots like that as well id look at a smaller carb, a fat jetted 33 or 34, will keep it crisper down low, for real good grunt, even in a dune shooter, bottoms fun to have.....and is a must for us dirt riders

  25. ask someone whos got his port, and then find out what the carbs are jetted at out of the box............. if he has a way lower main, try a 34 or 33, it might be better to jett smaller carbs fat than choke a bigger carb off, my engine has about 10-15 more ponies than the one you metioned and is real crisp with close to the stock jetting, on 34's, if its drowning it will have terrible throttle response and be a pig on the bottom but maybe kick in for top end, and the plug still look good......
