i pulled the slides out adn took some scotch brite or fine sand paper and cleaned the edge up the casting of the bottom of the slide. there was a burr and it would stick. after clean up the slide it worked great. never had a problem since might give it a try

pops is correct when i had my ol 84 gmc with a some what of a shift kit, if i ran type f fluid it would get a second gear scratch but with dexron mercon it was sloppy shifting. type f is the stuff to use

39 will give you more top end than the 14 41. i dont know how you ride but at LS 14 41 was plenty of top end. bu tthere isnt many huge open areas out there to really wind it out. best of luck
