  1. right here sounds like you have way to big of main, did you try like a 155 main and see what the plugs looked like. if its idles smooth and doesnt load up then your pilot circuit would be fine. and then take it and roll into the throttle dont mash it, if it takes off and wants to run like a streak then your needle is close you can adjust the clips up or down to see if one helps more than other. then hold it wot and do a plug chop. 162 i didnt hardly run that big of a main on my cub. that or you have the bike lean down low and need a big main to make a correct plug. hard to say with out riding the bike but i think your needle combo would work.
  2. first off i wouldnt listen to that info each bike is different. and you jugs are ported. 290 mains are just big enough for bolt on mods basically play with you bike and ride it and see how it acts. my guess being its ported by who ever you will need 27.5 30 pilots and 320 mains + but i dont know who ported your stuff. just listen to your bike.
  3. some dyno guys try to get a perfect air fuel curve and its not possible or shouldnt be you want a 2 stroke to go lean then it will start to get on the pipe. i had similar experience they put a huge pilot in it and if you just rode it around it would load up and wouldnt clear out very well. lower your pilot to like a 30 and then re adjust your main. and see how it runs.
  4. jims worked over alky 4mm cub isnt hitting 137 so no way stock jugs are doing that. all dynos read differently no standard way of testing them that i know of. my old duner made 80hp on nmotions dyno at wichita with shearers it might have made 75 down in tulsa or 85 some where else who knows. theres a local guy here with a trail, hill climb 350 that claims his bike dynoed at 87hp at waynoka. 100 bucks the clutch slipped or something and it spiked the dynoe but he thinks its 87hp and its not even close. took buddys 70s hp bike and beat him pretty good and so. if jim claimed that which im sure he didnt then he is spiking his coffee to make that much on stock jugs. he can make them run good just not that good unless your going to pay for bridge ports, fully welded up everything and lot of money and time into them.

LECTRONS ------------------------ PROS NO jets to buy ever again. the needle controls the idle and the mid range and the powerjet is your main. i notice a bit more low end compared to pwk but talking not much but its jetted fat down low. to control the idle and blah blah you adjust the length of the needle. measure both ones with a caliper and makes sure they are the same length. CONS ------------ price they are 6 bills easy unless you find a hell of a deal. that or used the adjustments arent easy to control meaning if your bike likes a small pilot to idle but a rich mid range it hard to do with just controlling the needle now dennis can get you different needles for whatever but they arent cheap to just start swapping out. my cub likes a richer mid range but it will load up at idle so it doesnt idle the best. i have it really close it idles higher than i would like but the power delivery is nice so i just deal with it not idling the best. pwk are like others have said. cheaper but jets can be $$$ and i have a bag of jets and needles for them. $$$$$$ will say lectrons are not as cheap but if you get them adjusted they are a sweet carb little to no cable resistance wont wear your thumb out. anyways hope that helps that is for gas by the way if your running alky i would only suggest lectrons really easy to run from what ive seen.

  14. was told 1.85mm before tdc was +7 degrees. all depends on what your going to do and what fuel your domes blah blah talk to you builder and go from there.
  15. there are holes where stock coil was you can mount one there, i think that was the right side, and theres a spot on the left side, i think i drilled it out to make room for a bolt to go thru. i made sure there was a good ground on both coils, you will need to wire 2 kill switchs or as you want 2 tether switches i think or wire them to kill both coils. what are you going to set your timing at in MM??
  16. for the record an 80hp motor built right and setup right can be quite duneable. its in all how your builder sets stuff up and pipe, domes and the whole combination. the whole package
