  1. Let'er rip!!!
  2. Not sure I agree with that. I havent ran any bigger than 30mm knock offs. They definitely made a difference over the stockers. Unless you've run 28-30mm carbs I guess you cant say either.
  3. The front doesnt matter. The only way the rear could matter is if it has counter sunk holes. Im not sure if any do but I guess its possible. My rear can go either way.
  4. I ran anywhere from 390-410's on mine when I was running stock carbs. Pretty much sea level here. 410's were rich on my bike but I like to run it that way as long as it pulls the gears. I had the same problem a couple years ago. Mine turned out to be the stator and flywheel. Do you have any buddys that you could swap some parts with?
  5. Yep. Our TRX 450R stock ran with and edged out two Banshee's with pipes, filters, Vforce reeds etc. Thats what we could see(mods). Ran right with them and pulled a bit on them a few times. Now my Banshee is a different story. In a straight race its not even close. I dont care if our 450R was piped, filtered etc it still wouldnt be a race.
  6. Need some Vitos pistons,19cc domes and a good port job . Should get 60-65hp Id say.
  7. Wow. You changed the oil. The tranny oil has nothing to do with the crank case/ combustion chamber. Thats what the premix oil is for. Your problem sounds alot like an ignition problem. Did the bike run ok before and now just start doing this? What other mods does it have? Those carbs are meant for fairly modded engines.
  8. Only a few hours. I havent had time to get out and put it through its paces. lol Hopefully this weekend.
  9. I just got a Moose 250W form Dennis Kirk. Works good so far. Got two Brand new Ricky Stator setups that went out not more than a couple hours of riding time.
  10. Im running 48's and 168's on mine right now. I went down from 50's and 172's. Id say you're rich on the pilot and maybe a little lean on the main. Id try a 48 pilot and 168 main like Im running. See how it goes form there. Have you done a plug chop yet? When the engine is still cold it can handle the extra fuel. Basically you just did have enough fuel from the pilot to start the engine. When you choked it, it got more fuel which to a degree is better on a cold engine. Let it warm up to operating temp and pull the choke out. I bet it shuts off.
  11. I just put one on my bike. Its a nice piece. Fits really well and looks good. Like was said above though its not really needed if you want to buy Ricky Stator stuff. I dont. After two 5+ mile tows Im done with ole Ricky.
  12. If you're stock I wouldnt touch it. It sounds to me like you're lean though if anything. Since the choke being pulled out helps it. Pulling out the choke gives you less air which mean the mix is richer. I wouldnt suggest going down on the jet size. If anything go up one or two sizes and see how it runs. A little rich = good A little lean = bad Youll never get your jetting perfect. Its impossible. There are to many variables. Whats perfect on one day maybe rich or lean the next. Run a tad rich and you'll never have to worry.
  13. I used Performanceparts.com. I posted about it a couple months ago. Nobody seemed to need them at the time. Michael
  14. From my understanding cubs are more aggressive than the most race ported stock jugs. Again from my understanding you cant port stock jugs as much as the cubs are stock. There just isnt enugh material to work with on stock jugs. Your race with the 450R sounds about right. You should have a definite advantage over him but on the top end only. Get your stock jugs race ported and it wont be a race. Im serious. Its not even worth the effort of the 450R to try and keep up. Thats in a drag race mind you. In the trails the 450R is one of the best bikes on the planet. I dont care how much power you have. I know this because we have a 450R. Against my bike in a drag race its ugly. I mean words cant describe how bad the ass whoopin is. In the trails or track however the 450r really puts on a show.
  15. I would run it 32:1. Thats 4 gallons to one bottle of premix. Jet the bike according to that mix.
  16. I dont know man. You shouldnt be off so much that its fouling plugs. They can take a good bit of fuel before fouling out. A couple jet sizes shouldnt make that much of a difference. I could be wrong. Im sure someone will chime. I would drop to a 48 pilot and adjust the air screw to dial it in. If it still wont dial in go with 45's and try again. Nobody can tell you exactly how to jet an engine. Its all trial and error.
  17. Well Ill Just be damned!! The brand new RS stator gave up today an hour after we started riding. One of the little wires came loose so I soldered it back on. Later it quit again. The wire is still intact but theres no spark. I really think its just a junk stator. Thats two brand new stators to go out in a couple weeks time. They look and smell burnt up.
  18. Turned out to be the Stator. The brand new RS Stator. Sorry for the ragged post. I was a bit tipsy when I wrote it. Thanks for all you one guys post.
  19. Well As some of you know I added the 30mm OKO a while back. I tell you Ive had nothing but trouble. Not sure if its the OKOS though. I can burn the plugs and get it to crank. It will run like a raped ape. I come back to the house cut it off. Turn it back on and kick it and no start. Kick, Kick, Kick. Nothing. Take the plugs out and they're wet. We've tried all sort s of different jet sizes all giving similar results. Well know after one ride it will not crank back up. No matter what we do. Starting fluid inlcuded. We checked the spark and it is sparking but to me it seems weak. I actually touched the side of the plug when my bro kicked it and it tickled at best. I have a new coil, new RS stator and flywheel.. It seems it has gotten progressivley worse since I changed all these components. I did notice the Stator got some grease on it from the dab we put on the woodrof key on the FW. Could this cause a weak spark? Right know Im at 42 pilots and 155 mains. I really dont think its a fuel issue. I think the spark may be weak. I have a Dyna ignition. Sould it be bad? I mean will it work halfass or is it one of those things that works or doesnt? Michael
  20. Going slow then going WOT will not give you a reading on your pilot jet. WOT is controlled by the needle, needle jet and main jet circuit.
  21. Too many variables to say. Go up a couple sizes and do plug checks. An engine only pulls so much air through. If you are already getting all the air you need with one setup it doesnt mean that a more free flowing "style" system will be better or require different jetting. On the other hand, IMHO, If anyone isnt riding in water or heavy mud often, I would suggest running pod filters. They work very well, are lighter, smaller and easier to work with and around.
  22. Hmmm. Usually a rich condition causes a backfire. It loads up in fuel and backfires. Maybe Im missing something. Please expain. Im really interested.
  23. I just took off my 6 year old Razors. Hell they still have tread left. I went with the new Razor 2's all the way around. Both are awesome tires IMHO.
  24. Check the float bowl height.
