Have you checked the compression? When was the clutch changed last?
-
Yes. They make bigger woops!

...And piss on the ashes. If they only put it in the oil fill hole it shouldnt have got into the tranny. So long as you havent ridden it since. Not sure that I would drain it through the drain hole either. That has potential for pulling the oil/sand into the tranny and out the drain hole. I would take the clutch cover off and let it drain out that way. -
I wouldnt worry so much about what size it is more so than how the plugs look and how it runs. All bikes are different and just because one runs a certain jet doenst mean another will run the same. For reference, my bike with mods in sig ran 410's. It was a little rich but it ran like great.
-
Yeah thats exactly how mine feels. Not sure if its faster yet though. Mine also has a bog at 1/4 throttle. Maybe sunday I can tinker with it some.

Im running a 52 pilot, needle in the third clip and 180 mains. Also at or near sea level. It still feels a little rich on the main and not quite right on the air screw. I just havent had time to work on it lately. It stilll runs like hell. Just not in its "dialed in" state yet. Question for ya Woodrow. Does your engine seem to turn up faster now than with the old carbs? When I used to shift it had(Although short) more of a build up of power. Now as soon as the power band hits its time to shift! I guess this is just the cylinders filling quicker??

Like above. Strong mid range hit and good high end pull. I love mine. Ive never heard a pipe that sounded like the 916's. You can tell who's running them from far away.

Those look ALOT like my jugs. My intake ports arent quite as high I dont think. Mine was done by Eric Happy @ 4-Wheel Thunder.

Sounds like a bad needle bearing.

stock trx 450r what to do to it
jmd0346 replied to DADEBOYRACER101's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Well the only thing that can beat Banshee is another Banshee. Dont take that the wrong way. I do understand that they can be beat, The point is mod for mod, or should I say modability, they CANT be beat. But we all agree on that. As well as how awesome a 450R is for what its built for. Its a really fun quad. Even with a cam and exhaust I REALLY dont think a 450R would hang with my bike though. Ive beaten many quads. Modded quadzilla, N2O Raptor, N2O mild bolt-on banshee etc... The only thing ive had trouble with is my brothers CR500 and a ported , cpi, N2O banshee. -
stock trx 450r what to do to it

My brother has a stock 450R. It'll hang with my Banshee in the trails pretty well. Its when we hit straights or drag race that it gets ugly. I mean its laughable. But thats not what the 450R is intended for. Ive seen it win some lose some to 2 lightly modded Banshee's though. Pipes, filter, V-force 3's just from what i could see. For trail/track its a bad ass bike. -
well I hope atleast one of the 15 viewers got something out of it.
-
IMO I wouldnt change it just yet. With your mods you could get several more topend builds before really having to do anything major. Now if you decide to up the compression, port, etc... then i would definitely get a T&W crank.

Found a great website for filters and outerwears. Its called Performanceparts.com. Also knfilters.com is good for finding part numbers, sizes, etc... Hope this helps. I know some of us have been looking for different sizes than the normal online atv stores sell.
-
Who the hell said anything about drag racing? It doesnt take some wizard to ride a mid-high end pipe in the trails either.
-
Nothing to it. Just make sure you have the bearing pins seated in the right place. Good luck!

Mix rario definitely affects a/f ratio. Pick an oil and a mix ratio and jet accordingly. Do not change mix ratio once dialed in. The combustion cycle doesnt care how much oil is there. Only fuel and air. With more oil comes less fuel.
-
Its all what you can get used to and what you can handle. A Banshee is never gonna be a great trail bike I dont care what you do to it but you can manage. In the opens and striaghts makes up for the short comings of the trails. You can wrestle it through the trails but when its sucks your face back on a straight you know what its all about. How do you like the 916's?
-
My brother said there is a good riding park in GA. Not far form the SC-GA border. Not sure of the name. We'll probaly be making the trip soon.
-
LOL! He's gonna give you one or the other. You're gonna like either one. Its gonna be a big difference from you stock jugs. It'll be a whole new bike. You'll love it.

Banchetta. Do you know how the neeleds we got with this setup compare to the DEK, EEK? I got N80F. Im wondering if this isnt just the cheapest thing they had for this carb. CPW's website doesnt even list this needle. Im not sold yet on trusting a carb warehouse with my several thousand dollar engine.

No. Nothing that you couldnt Google and find. All I know is from experience. Ive built a bike for a friend that had pro-circuits and Im tuning a bike now for a buddy that has FMF fattys. Id take the DMC over any of these pipes. Ive seen T-5's and CPI's run too. Im still impressed with the 916's. They've got a hell of a mid-range hit and pull pretty damn good up top. I run my bike rich so it never really "lays over".
-
DMC 916!! I dont think these pipes get enough credit. They are a great all around pipe and sound better than any Ive ever heard. Ive heard alot. They sound like a crotch rocket at full tilt.

A hole in the piston is flat too lean or too much timing. Gearing shouldnt matter as long as you have it jetted right. If that was the case you could/would be rich in some gears and lean in others. The load on the engine changes every time you shift. Whats your carb/jetting setup, elevation? You guys shouldnt make post about problems without that kind of info.

Id go with the dune port myself. I think thats pretty much what I have. I ride sand pits, roads and trails. Some tight/technical trails. I love my port. Im 6' 225. Im what I call a "strong" rider. My bike doesnt have much low end but you can clutch it and it will flat rip. You just have to be strong enough to hold on to it and point it where you want it to go. IMO a powerfull Banshee(60-70 hp) is easy to ride. More so than the lower powered thumpers. A banshee spins so much that you can control it with throttle and strength. If that makes sense. I wouldnt be scared of a good dune port. I wish i would have gotten a full drag port myself.
