  1. Remember that come Tuesday, election day. The tree huggers will always be around. BUT, if you look back at when a democrat named Clinton got into office, he closed off a lot of riding areas. His liberal friend, John F'em Kerry will do the same thing. Weird how the liberals talk about protecting your freedoms, but are the first to take them away for the good of the "whole". Socialism. These issues will continue to be a hot subject as population increases and "open" spaces become more valuable to all involved. Voting shouldn't be a "single issue" reason to vote for a certain candidate. For me, it isn't just riding areas that are cause for concern with Kerry, but all his bs telling both sides that he will do something for each, which he can't. As for tree huggers, I can see their viewpoint, but they are toooo extreme. There's still enough area for all to enjoy.
  2. I can't stand that weasel's voice. Would like to take him out hunting, while he's crawling on his belly, would love to put one round in the back......oh wait, can't say that. Was I typing that? ops.
  3. Thanks for the replies guys. I've got today to think it over, not gonna get an answer till tomorrow anyway. Will say one thing, I really like how the Keihin's are designed compared to the stock. I've looked this carb over and all the info on the net that I could find at Carbparts and Sudco, puts the stock carbs to shame in all respects. There has to be something about why Trinity went to these sizes (33 and 35) for the single carb setup and not something larger like the 4 strokes use. I read one of the threads(while doing a search on 2 into 1) that sredish mentioned velocity thru the carb might be one of the reasons. Sure wish I could afford to experiment with that idea. Got another question-for those that switch to dual carbs of this type, how do they synch them? IS there a need for a cross-over tube like on the stock?
  4. I ordered a 35mm trinity 2 into 1 set up, finally got here, and it's a 33pwk. Part of me says send it back, the other part of me wants to get this put on and see how it runs with it, but once I open the packaging I'm stuck with it. Anyone out there know what, if any difference there is between them. Right now all I have pipes, K&N air cleaner. Plan on timing, fly wheel and somewhere down the road I might port for trail/mx, but not right away. I know some have said that 35 is the way to go.
  5. I saw the waffle head float of John Kerry on the Glen Beck website, very funny!!! I guess they will have it out again on Tuesday. Smoke coming out of his head puts it over the top.
  6. Are the rockets loud? I personally don't want loud pipes due to riding on state trails where spark arresters are also required. I'm running fmf fatties with turbine core II's, which aren't too bad. My old banshee had PT high rev's and them things just screamed. Sounded nice, but drew unwanted attention sometimes.
  7. There's no "written in stone" jetting for winter riding. You need to learn how to read your plugs and how to do the jetting. Only you can be responable for your machine so that it doesn't blow. Chances are, that you will need to do some changes to run in the winter. I know on mine, that changing the needle position is not enough. I have to run at least one size bigger on the mains. Read up on how to jet and how to read your plugs, do a search. Go buy a couple sets of new plugs. 30-40 degree temp change can really change things, if your still stock and it ran fine at 80-90 degrees, you will need to rejet to run at anything below 30.
  8. I've always been partial to the black/yellow colors, reminds me of the earlier moto-cross days when yamaha ran with them. Have any of you seen the new yfz450 sporting the black/yellow colors? Looks good to me. When Yamaha ran the special edition in '03, I thought it would have looked nicer if they would have used more yellow.
  9. Bush is the only president to alot money for stem cell research. He just doesn't believe that babies should be MURDERED for stem cells. As for abortion, I'm sure he's against it, but he's mostly against late term abortion, which is hardly ever done for the woman's protection. Personally, if a woman can't figure out if she wants it by 4th month, then she should carry it and give it up for adoption. Funny that you think that he is always on vacation, thats just laughable. Michael Moore's film doesn't have many FACTS to back up his claims. Oh the dreaded "HALLIBURTON" claim. There are no other American Companies that can do that kind of work under those conditions. I suppose we should let the French go back in and get those contracts? Yea, that makes sense. Has any one heard of the "oil for food" scam commited by the UN, France, and Germany???? Folks should really quit watching see-bs starring Dan Blather
  10. I lost 3 jobs while Bill Clinton was in office getting serviced by his intern. As much as I dislike liberals, I will not blame him for those loses. I moved to a larger city to be able to find work, I never thought of it as "running away". I don't like the area I moved to, too much traffic, too much crime, can't ride anywhere, gotta trailer my atv's. Can't hunt anywhere even close to this area, but I have a job, I have a nice home, and I am able to trailer my stuff. I know some people that live off the government, I wouldn't want to ever live that kind of life with my hand out. Too much bullheaded pride I guess. Bad things happen to good folks, and how they assert themselves and deal with it are the factors they are judged by. Not a slam, but a push into the right direction. As said before, YOU have to want to get yourself out of that crappy situation. There may be no visible solution, but if you keep pushing on, something will come along. Believing that the government is gonna take care of you is a pipe dream. There is nothing that the government has taken over that hasn't been done better by individuals. Look at education, public schools are failing, thier solution-throw more money at it. Healthcare, go to a VA hospital, compare it to a regular one, enough said. There is only one sector where the government shines, that is in thier own jobs, BUT, that is on the back of tax payers, which won't be able to carry that load for long. I wish you the best Nightrider, I've been there.
  11. sounds like your carbs are out of sync.
  12. Do a search on "water" or "stuck carb", you will find this is a common problem. No great cure neither, heres 4 solutions: (1) put TORS back on(2)buy different carbs(3)avoid water in colder weather, (4) or just deal with it.
  13. I'm not flaming anyone, just my pov. Clinton used Haliburton during his reign, did you know that? Haliburton has done some bad things, there's no denying it, but when some of those things were done, that was before Cheney worked for them. The fruit cakes in the Kerry campaign would have you believe that Cheney is getting paid off by Halliburton, but the truth is that he gets a certain amount of money each year as part of his "retirement" from them. He gets that money whether or not they make money, even if they were to go belly up, just like most people USED to get when they worked for a company for many years. As for giving work to an American company, I personally don't see a problem with that. Better then giving the contracts to the French, who wouldn't support us. Look into the "oil for food" garbage that the French, Germans and other countries were abusing, then show me why the we should work with them. Funny how some people will support what CBS did to help Kerry, but damn everyone for supporting an American company because it comes down to not liking capitalism. Capitalism is better then communism. First thing Kerry will do if he gets into office, more gun control. Second thing Kerry will do if he gets in, raise taxes. Third thing Kerry will do if he gets in, take away access to public lands.
  14. Haven't done any winter racing, but on my old banshee, I had screws in the tires and had a blast riding on lakes, rivers, and ponds. Guys I rode with thought that it was even worse to follow right behind me in winter compared to summer. Easier to ride in winter, most people don't notice the noise, just colder and seem to do a lot of night riding. State trails are closed for snowmobiles, but some localities are working to change that when there is a lack of snow.
  15. Welcome to the tax haven of the U.S.A. As for riding areas, the best ain't near Milwaukee. You can find some trails in the southwest corner between Monroe and Mineral Point. Very flat rail bed, dnr looking for speeders now and then, gas stations are no problem. Trails are on public and private land. The next area is Black River Falls, large variety of trails, lots of lodging at different costs, gas is a little harder to find, but there are hundreds of miles of trails within Jackson and Clark counties, good parking areas with ramps to load into back of truck if need be. Most trails are on public land. Another area is up north of Crivitz. Haven't seen much of this area(about 1/4 of it), but know that gas can be very hard to get. There are more trails on the northern part of the state, but lots of them are more for 4x4's then banshee's. Unless you can find someone with private property, your SOL. Every now and then I ride on a construction site down in Kenosha without any hassles, but come next spring, that will change as they gear up for thier project. I'd offer to go riding, but will be busy hunting the next few months. What part of Milw are you in?
  16. 98, Get her warmed up and try it with the lid off, if better, you will need to lean it out, if worse, you will then need to get her richer. If your running without a lid, put it on. If the hesitation is just before the power band and gets better at wide open and your plug chop is looking good, chances are you will need to mess with the needle, move the clip from one extreme then to the other, most usually need to be richer( mine needed to be leaner on the needle).
  17. Move the clip up on the needle to lean it out. Easy enough to try. What mains, needle postion, pilot jet, and air screw turns are you at now??? I can understand your frustration, have thought of going to a 2 into 1 carb setup. But if you can't get it figured out with 2, you may not be any better with one. Same principle for tuning, just simpler to deal with one carb.
  18. If you haven't already done so, read BenBB's tuning guide. First thing you do is the mains with plug chop to determine if you are correct. The rest is fine tuning. I've found that by changing ONLY one thing at a time eliminates a lot of guess work about whether any changes are working. Also make sure that your carbs are sync' after ANY changes involving opening the carbs. It can be frustrating and sometimes you just want to ride, but getting it right can be the difference between it screaming or blow'n. Tuning, can be the most important part of maintaining a banshee. Keep working at it and keep posting if you can't get it. ALL your tuning and plug chops should be with a warmed up engine. PS sometimes major changes @ pilots/needle position shows that your required to re-evaluate your mains. 03' fmf fatty's with turbine core II's lid on, K&N filter 500-1000ft elevation 320mains needle-4th from bottom 27.5 pilot 1.5 turns on air screw
  19. Just drill two holes thru and bolt them together. I peened the end of the bolts so it couldn't come loose, paint the nuts/bolts black if you want to hide them. Haven't had any problems since on mine.
  20. Push it
  21. You need to really calm down and think this through, taking it to a dealer will cost you and it may not run any better. Most mech/dealers do not know how to tune the banshee(especially with mods), they see what a book tells them and that is how they will adjust. As stated your jetting is the problem not the the mix ratio. If you don't understand the jetting, read up in the jetting section. You still haven't said what you are using for jets/needle position/pilots and your elevation. With what you have for mods, I'd guess that you should be using 280-320 mains, 27.5 pilots, and have the needle raised from the middle postion. Knowing your carbs' settings and how to adjust is critical to riding/maintaining a banshee.
  22. I can't post a pic, but will warn you that the IMS is VERY ugly compared to the Clark.
  23. I don't know anything about the Clarke tank, but I just got the IMS 5.6gal one. It is butt arse ugly and you do have to cut off the strips that would come back and wrap around your original tank(I'm sure the Clarke is the same). I have an '03 banshee with the higher bars, no problem clearing the tank lock to lock steering wise. Also not real impressed with the exposed bolt holes on the sides of the radiator shroud, not used and not hiden by the bigger tank. Otherwise having extra gas is a good thing on the trails. I've got a race cut front plastic on it's way so I don't have to cut my original. From some pics I've seen after purchasing mine, the Clarke looks nicer.
  24. You didn't re-use the stock rubber pieces between the plates did you?
  25. Best way to avoid this is NOT to coast with the clutch pulled in.
