  1. The winner has been announced...(and contacted of course) And The Winner Is... .... ...
  2. I really like the idea of that DEVIL PENGUIN.... If anyone breaks in I can have Lola (my dog) de-manhood-ing them while my Devil Penguin goes straight for their face! They'll never know what hit 'em!!! Ingenious But... on the other hand, taking a devil penguin out for a walk might get you into trouble...maybe even arrested a few times.. Hell, ok, I'll take one anyway.
  3. bansheeryder, If you haven't checked out this thread yet, it tells you how you can upload pics or load them from another hosted location. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18534 If you are browsing/uploading the photos and they're not going in, they may need resizing. If you try the info from the link above and it doesn't work, feel free to email them to me. I'll resize, if need be, and send them back. When you do though, please make sure to put them in the images section. -L
  4. Yes, it was written by Hunter S. Thompson about his trip to Vegas while covering the desert bike races as a journalist. So he wrote it about himself and they later on, around 1998, made a movie based on the book. And yeah, just like thecabinboy mentioned, "Where the Buffalo Roam" is hard to come acrossed but it's also another great movie inspired by Hunter's experiences.
  5. I basically skimmed this thread but on the topic of Social Security.... Though I feel bad for people who may need it and won't get it if it falls apart, it must be understood and brought to the forefront that Social Security is not a retirement plan. It was never intended to be, nor was it designed to be. It was merely a means of supplementing senior retirment income. With that said, it wasn't intended for everyone at age 65 to sign up for it and retire off from it. I'm not saying this to put anyone down who needs it, but merely to stress the point that in the future with a fluctuating economy as it has been for as long as I've been alive, it is important to either 1) get really really really rich or 2) start planning for a secure retirement (401k, IRA's, Long-term stocks, etc.) I'm not a posterboy for financial freedom and advice but through mistakes, I've learned to start thinking about where my income will come from when I get ready to say bye to the working world and hello sandy beaches when retirement age slaps me acrossed the face.
  6. I'm going to have to voice mine I guess... If i was to make a 'breakup compilation' cd I'd include the following: Type O Negative - 12 Black Rainbows Alice DeeJay - Better off alone Armin Van Buuren - Yet Another Day Pearl Jam - Parting Ways "and though he's too big a man to say there's a fear they'll soon be parting ways drifiting away, drifting away, drifting away... " Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter (the 07/11/03 bootleg especially) "I don't know whether I was the boxer or the bag" Jack Johnson - Times Like these "Boys and girls with hearts that take and give and break And heal and grow and recreate and raise and nurture But then hurt from time to time like these And times like those" Dope - Thanks for Nothing "Thanks for nothing Absolutely nothing Thanks for all your bullshit too" Violent Femmes - Good Feeling (because booze and breakups just work so well together) G. Love & Special Sauce - Kick Drum & Stepping Stones Then I'd probably wrap it up with this song: V.A.S.T. - FREE "I want to hold air in my hand Own the one thing you can't buy Nothing to win, nothing to lose It's time to be what I need to be You can't tell me what to do anymore Now I'm free...." (this song also goes for when you quit your job) !!! and (rock and...well u get it)
  7. Hunter was a writer for ESPN, the author of "Fear in Loathing in Las Vegas", and he wrote the book "The Hells Angels" after travelling with them for a while. If you've seen the movie "where the buffalo roam" with Bill Murray; that was inspired by Hunter's times and experiences. Was never a dull story with anything he wrote about. Not exactly the Mark Twain of his era but he was one of those people who's life was completely 'out there' that what would normally be just your run-of-the-mill event coverage would end up being a personified adventure about real events/experiences... in otherwords, he was a horse of a different color.
  8. I figured there must be some HQ fans of the 'gonzo journalist' Hunter S. Thompson. If you haven't seen the news, he died yesterday.... I figured it would have been an OD, but then again, if you've had as many chemicals as that guy has and made it through...an OD is probably an unlikely occurance.... Might be a night to watch Fear in Loathing in Las Vegas.... Hunter S. Thompson, commits suicide at 65 R.I.P. Hunter.
  9. Who is this we're talking about? The thread that was linked is no longer. Either myself or a moderator removed it before I saw this thread. Also, don't forget the "Report to Administrator" button on these threads. It helps bring attention to the worthless threads out there. I get an email with a link directly to the thread when you do the report to administrator feature. -Lee

  18. Every guy has a time frame in their life where they need to get out the play/party/rauchus while they still can. After college, shit gets serious FOR you. College is a time to study up and do well so you know your stuff when you're done... but it's also a life away from the parents and many of the hurdles that the serious life entails. What I'm saying, in a nutshell, is don't lock yourself into anything if you're in your college years. It's a time to meet people on a social basis, party it up, and get the term papers in on time with a hangover. There'll be plenty of time to get serious the day you graduate. Just be reasonable about it. Like dune girl said, if it's meant to be, she'll be single and interested in you when you're both ready for the full commitment. OK bye.
  19. There are a few good sites out there still for Sifl & Olly. Where I got my avatar: http://najical.com/s-o/ For merchandise: http://www.sifl-n-olly.com/ After the holidays I'll probably be ordering up the Season 3: The Lost Episodes dvd. I miss that show and MTV's: The State. (there may be a dvd coming out for those who are "The State" fans) While we're on the subject of 'yesteryear', a great site I've been going to for a long time is http://www.x-entertainment.com
  20. w00t! nasty01banshee, just think, 201 more posts & you become "PRO" rank! One more post to go bansheefreak (officially it's 701)
  21. That's right... see the title. (Figured I'd screen-capture it before they noticed & fixed the typo). Maybe it's just my lack of sleep that makes me think this is funny.
  22. ahh yes, nostalgia. those were the days. what's up with the white dress though. thought he was peter pan's crossdressing clone?
  23. Thanks (most everyone) for understanding why I cleaned house. It's not so much whether it was a good thing or not (entertainment-wise); but it's just one of those things where after a while you ask yoursef... am I willing to pay fines or potentially have the site taken down for months (if not indefinitely) due to a search and seizure of the material if by any chance copywritten/protected material is displayed here? It happens every day. Good sites/servers go down because of legal disputes over the content. That's just the secondary reason for doing so. Not to mention the primary being that we don't want the site blocked & banned throughout public networks. Links I don't care about providing you mention it's not a link to Blues Clues official website (deceiving links in other words) As you know, the HQ is pretty lenient on content posted, and what is said. I haven't and don't plan to let it get crazy (like this article I read about Rolling Stone magazine's advertising censorship). The HQ knows that Bansheeriders are a unique bunch (myself included!) and we all have our own personalities likes/dislikes/etc. There's bound to be content that some people don't care for that others post. Providing it's within the realms of legal, we're not going to tell you what you can or can't say. (Except for the obvious bashing, racial stuff, and flaming; which people get banned for on almost any good forum). So, to me, removing pr0n, which makes up a BIG percentage of the internet, is small change to me. If i wanted to see a naked-chick.... I'll hit up one of 100 million (or more) porno sites out there.... Roost on my roosting roosters. -Lee
  24. Sorry guys/gals. It just got out of control. Please see the announcement on this. Last thing anyone wants is for adult filters to start blacklisting the HQ... I'm sure you all understand (we can only tolerate so much) but there is a LARGE spectrum of people all ages and locations (work/school/internet cafes/other public networks) that surf and get vital information from the site. Things have been a little looser lately with the removals of threads like that one, but in the past this has been something we didn't allow. There are plenty of places out there for pics like those, including...umm, yafro.com Most other public forums have the same policies as the HQ, so I don't feel we're being unreasonable. (this reply isn't directed towards any one person, just an overall reinforcement of why we would remove such threads/posts/images) Thanks for understanding, -Lee & the HQ Team
